It automatically finds and permanently removes names, Spanish ID numbers (DNI, NIE and NIF), phone numbers, email addresses, postal addresses, IBAN bank account numbers and dates of birth from PDF files, so contracts, payslips, invoices, court rulings and HR records can be shared safely and in line with the GDPR principle of data minimisation. Why it matters The most common way to "hide" data in a PDF is to draw a black box over it in a PDF editor or in Word before exporting. In many cases the text is still in the file underneath: anyone can select it, copy it and paste it elsewhere. Document metadata such as author, title or the original file name often leaks the client's identity too. OpacoPDF solves this by rebuilding every page with the redaction burned in, so the covered text no longer exists in the file. Original metadata is removed, and every export is automatically checked to confirm no recoverable text remains. How it works 1. Open a PDF. The document is opened and redacted in your browser. 2. Review the detections. Each item is highlighted on the page and listed by type. Identification numbers are validated (DNI/NIE check letter, IBAN check digits) before being marked, and lower-confidence detections are flagged for review. You can disable any mark, search for any text to redact all its occurrences, or draw a box over signatures, stamps, case numbers or anything else. 3. Download the redacted PDF. Privacy by design Only the text of the pages is sent for analysis, on servers located in the European Union, and it is not stored. OpacoPDF keeps only the file name, page count and date for the user's history and credit control. Who it is for Accounting and advisory firms (gestorías), law firms and HR departments in Spain that regularly send documents to banks, insurers, auditors, external consultants or AI tools, or reuse real cases as templates and training material. Limitations Automatic detection requires PDFs with selectable text; scanned documents can be redacted manually by drawing boxes. Because pages are rebuilt as images, the output PDF does not contain selectable text. The interface is in Spanish and detection is optimised for Spanish identification formats.
