Since 2003, Online Candidate has helped campaigns create professional websites for local, county, state, and federal races. The platform is designed around the needs of political campaigns rather than adapted from a general-purpose business website builder. Campaigns can choose from several ways to get online. Candidates who want more help can have their website professionally designed and set up by the Online Candidate team. Campaigns that prefer to build and manage their own site can use the Online Candidate website builder and editing tools. Online Candidate websites can be used for candidate biographies, campaign issues and positions, endorsements, news and press releases, events, voter information, volunteer recruitment, contact forms, fundraising links, and other campaign content. The platform includes secure website hosting, mobile-friendly design, website editing tools, campaign-specific page options, and support for integrating with outside political fundraising and communication services. Campaigns retain the ability to update their own content throughout the election without relying on a developer for routine changes. Online Candidate is used by candidates running for offices such as school board, city council, mayor, sheriff, judge, county offices, state legislature, and other elected positions. The service is also used by political committees, advocacy organizations, ballot initiatives, and other political groups that need an online presence. One of the main differences between Online Candidate and a general website builder is the campaign-specific experience behind the platform. Political websites have different requirements from ordinary business websites. Candidates need to clearly identify the office they are seeking, communicate positions and qualifications, provide election and voter information, promote endorsements and events, recruit supporters, connect fundraising systems, and comply with applicable campaign disclosure requirements. Online Candidate was developed specifically around those needs. Campaigns can also access political website examples, campaign planning resources, guides, tools, and educational content covering topics such as running for office, campaign websites, fundraising, digital outreach, political branding, and online campaigning. Online Candidate does not operate as a voter database, campaign CRM, or political fundraising processor. Instead, it focuses on providing the campaign website and online publishing platform while allowing campaigns to connect the outside services they already use for donations, email, social media, analytics, and other campaign functions. The service is intended for campaigns that want a professional political website without having to start from scratch, configure a generic website platform, or teach a general web designer how political campaigns work. Whether a candidate wants a professionally designed site or prefers a more hands-on website-building option, Online Candidate provides a campaign-specific way to establish and manage a credible online presence throughout the election.
