The software and equipment is very easy to use. Whether you're tracking an individual asset or an entire fleet of vehicles, their easy-to-use tools are excellent. Real-time tracking and geofencing is very accurate and the best I've seen in the industry. The mobile app is also simple to use and very reliable. What do you dislike about One Step GPS? Depending on the GPS signal for each device (and cell service), sometimes real-time tracking can lag a bit. Before GPS tracking, our company could not fully verify the exact time certain vehicles departed our warehouse, even with security cameras. With live geofencing alerts, I know exactly when any vehicles/assets enter or leave the job site and/or home base. Personally, the device is fine, as I have no complaints about it. It’s always been reliable and never fails. What I like most however, is their customer service. The area that I just moved away from was a very high crime/high theft area, and I wanted to have some extra security in the event someone might take my car without my knowing. Secondarily, it really helped when my girlfriend would park the car, but due to the fact that we only had street parking, knowing where that car was parked was always a guessing game. The only thing I dislike about it is on our Hino flatbeds the OBD port for the physical tracking device has a long cord with a module making it hard to tuck away. Our brand-new Kia was stolen just one week after we purchased it. The first thing I did on the third day we had the car was install the GPS, and I’m so glad we did. The police were able to locate the car within hours while we were sleeping, and the robbers didn’t have time to do anything. They didn’t even know what hit them, or how the police were able to find them so quickly, best $13.00 spent ever in my life, we end up adding 2 more GPS to 1 for each one of the other cars we have. OSG is priceless and we would never do without on our older company trucks. Sure, the new trucks have tracking and onstar capabilities but that does nothing for our trailers and F250 . We have already used it once to thwart a theft in progress, tracking the vehicle in real time and shutting off the engine when the person left the vehicle. In another case, we tracked a car cross country to make sure it arrived in one piece without any detours. The price has been very reasonable and it was easy to hook up the dongle with a Y connector for the cross country trip. The truck took some professional support to get setup and the total cost was still under $400. The trailer works well and we were able to integrate the GPS into the battery system. We charge the battery when driving and when parked for long times and have never had an issue with power to the unit. It's a high performing system that does exactly what it says it will do without any AI or machine learning BS layered on. By keeping it simple, it let's us use our human intelligence effectively.
