The support is exceptional! When using the chat support I usually have my answer within minutes. **What do you dislike about One Church Software?** I wish there were more premade reports built in to the system. Also, when exporting data to csv files, I'd prefer not having to modify the resulting spreadsheet by deleting multiple columns. **What problems is One Church Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** The contribution module works great and it is very easy to enter and organize batches. ### 2. Much more reasonably priced than the old system. **What do you dislike about One Church Software?** Some of the reporting functionality isn't quite as good as what we had in the past but it is workable. **What problems is One Church Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is our church database allowing us to track attendance, giving, etc. We also use it to communicate via text or email with the congregation. ### 3. The initial conversion from our previous practices was time intensive as we learned the new system, but SO well worth the effort. **What problems is One Church Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** One Church has consolidated a vast array of processes we had in place for maintaining records and communicating with our church members. Whether it is Giving, Background checks, Church Directory, Email, Texting, Scheduling, Forms, Contact lists, Sunday School Registraion and Check-in, Service Planning, Newsletters, Following up with Visitors, Integrating with our Website, Maintaining our Small Groups, or Notify the entire church easily, One Church is such a great help. ### 4. At that time, the software design, ease of use and, most significantly, the willingness of the principals of the company to help us get up and running got us “hooked”. After one conversation about transferring our data from an existing cloud-based application owned, developed and managed by a talented and very successful church tech professional, we signed on to their solid design and commitment to our success as end-users. OneChurch tools have served us well during the pandemic to build consistently dependable strategies for communication and management of donations and pledges. Now, on the “other side” and back to hybrid worship and meetings, we are working smarter to use more OneChurch connection and involvement features. Perhaps we may even switch to cloud-based accounting. We enjoy how the design of OneChurch supports our mission to build a supportive, inclusive community that can use technology tools to worship, grow, learn and work for justice. **What do you dislike about One Church Software?** There were some missing features in OneChurch that church leaders wished for during our first “pledge season.” However, the staff remembered our requests and these features were built into doable queries for subsequent pledge seasons. I love finding software features that should work but fail to come through for me. In EVERY instance, the OneChurch tech support members have worked to understand what I was attempting to do, then quickly helped me get the data I needed, showed me a better way to use the software or fixed a minor bug. **What problems is One Church Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** We enjoy how the design of OneChurch supports our mission to build a supportive, inclusive community that can use technology tools to worship, grow, learn and work for justice. ### 5. Todd Shields was a breath of fresh air when reviewing OneChurch. I'm buying because of him. An all-in-one solution. One price for all the things we need rather than "nickel and diming" that our previous solution became. **What do you dislike about One Church Software?** It would have been nice if it included a website builder like some other solutions. But that is generally offered with hosting platforms anyway. The pros far outweighed this slight negative. **What problems is One Church Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's taking many solutions and putting them into one. Church accounting was the primary concern, but it also included a text-to-give (previously paid extra for that), text and email communications to contacts (previously charged for that), easily generates giving reports, and provides some things that we didn't even think about using. ### 6. The best features are its automation capabilities for follow-up and assimilation. The query and report builders are structured so that even a non-tech-savvy person like myself can use them with ease. **What do you dislike about One Church Software?** The Service planning feature still needs some love: simple features like "template services" are still missing, so when planning a new service, one must copy a previous service individually. But the rest of the service planning features are so great that this inconvenience is easily overlooked. **What problems is One Church Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** First, OCS keeps our member and guest records in order. Second, through its automation features for communication, we can reach out to more people quickly for guest retention and member follow-up. Third, all of our events are organized through this system, from calendaring to service planning. Having this one-stop shop helps our church be organized and keeps all of our ministries connected. ### 7. But that is mitigated with the free hour of in-person training that each church is given with their membership. I will say though, it's NOTHING compared to other church management software we've used. Anything that's robust and had lots of features will take some getting used to, but everyone on our staff from Office Admin to Senior Leadership to Volunteer Team Leaders are using it and feel fairly comfortable with it. **What problems is One Church Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** We struggled to know who was a part of our church and how connected they were. With the combination of using electronic check-in in our Kids & Student Ministries as well as a very basic version of Check-In for our adults we are seeing when people "disappear." We can reach out to them, check in, see what's going on, etc. And we can do this using the automation. This means we don't have to remember necessarily. Just setup the system and it works in the background. Also, the ability to easily email, call, text, etc. with people has been amazing. Mass emails & texts in particular are easy to do (but we try not to do them too much). Also, scheduling volunteers & substitute requests are so much easier now. You can still make phone calls and send texts outside of the One Church Software system (and you'll probably have to), but the scheduling aspect of the software is great because you create the schedule, send the requests, and see the commitments come in. ### 8. Our conversion from our previous system went smoothly, and the developer's assistance was excellent. Many others are not, but One Church is a fully integrated church management solution. The developers are open to enhancement requests, and many we have submitted have been implemented. I find the user interface to be intuitive. Role-based security was implemented a few months after we started and has been great. I use the query builder is powerful, and I use it frequently. The online support articles are excellent, and chat support is very responsive when you have additional questions. **What do you dislike about One Church Software?** Currently, custom fields are not supported in the app, and custom fields cannot be added to the family record. **What problems is One Church Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** With their automation and workflow tools, One Church is helping us to think about and streamline our processes. Additionally, One Church offers many different ways to identify and communicate with families, specific groups, or individuals. ### 9. We also love the fact that the One Church Software development team continues to add to their program and have allowed us to offer input on areas of development that we felt would better benefit our uses. OCS is easy to connect with, easy to work with, and VERY responsive to our needs and requests. Their system is reliable, stable, consistent, and easy to use - once you get past the initial learning curve. **What do you dislike about One Church Software?** Our dislikes happen to be areas that they are presently working to improve. We have two "hot" areas that we have communicated with the OCS team about and have been told that those areas are in development. One of those is that we would like an interactive "prayer wall" for prayer requests and responses to prayer requests. Our second request has been the ability for "groups" to have the ability to use push notifications within their groups and not have to push a notification to the whole church for just a group need. **What problems is One Church Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** Communications through push notifications and the ability to more easily facilitate prayer requests and make the interactions with prayer requests live. ### 10. The greater lack for us has been that we have not implemented all that OneChurch is capable of... **What problems is One Church Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** Maintenance of distribution lists was always an issue through Outlook and Server software. OneChurch provides a single place to deal with all of these issues. It still requires thoughtful maintenance, but it is generally intuitive and easy to accomplish. ### 11. Our church cannot afford the larger packages but this small package is perfect for the limited number of donors we have at our church.
