Ollama makes local LLM deployment incredibly simple. One command to pull and run a model, zero API keys, zero cloud dependency. The performance is solid even on mid-range hardware, and swapping between models is seamless. For anyone who wants privacy-first AI or just doesn't want to pay per token, it's the best option out there. The REST API is clean enough to integrate into any project without friction. GPU memory management can be tricky with larger models, and the model library, while growing, still lacks some fine-tuned variants available elsewhere. We struggled with cloud API costs and latency unpredictability for AI-heavy workflows. Ollama solved that by letting us run models entirely on-premise — no usage bills, no network round-trips. Onboarding was surprisingly smooth; the CLI is intuitive enough that new team members get up and running in minutes without any handholding. The Web UI options that integrate with it also make it accessible for less technical users. On the AI side, model quality is on par with what you'd expect from the upstream open-source releases, and switching between different intelligence tiers (smaller/faster vs larger/smarter) based on task needs is seamless. What do you dislike about Ollama? Compared to other inferencing tools like llama.cpp, it has lower performance. I also wish it had a built-in web UI.
