What problems is Odoo Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are able to resolve the overstocking issue with Odoo's Reordering rules, Procure against Order feature.

Inbound shipments seamlessly managed using the auto-suggested putaway rules where the dependency of a skilled warehouse person gets reduced & the system suggests where the products are best to be stored.

Outbound shipments are easy to manage by system suggesting which lot expires or which lot came in the warehouse first so based such strategies system guides the product deliveries. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Odoo Inventory for flexibility and integration"

What do you like best about Odoo Inventory?

Although Odoo can handle complex warehouse and operations structures, once you understand the logic of the routes, rules locations and operations types, it is relatively easy to implement.

This flexibility as well as the integration with other apps like purchasing, sales, website, pos and manufacturing was for us crucial in our decision to choose Odoo.

What do you dislike about Odoo Inventory?

"Does a great job keeping track of inventory"

What do you like best about Odoo Inventory?

The program has a great interface that is very easy to use. It also has a lot of features to make it easy to use no matter what your application. I especially like how you can automate connections with manufacturing and purchasing. It also has an iPad app with a very clean interface. It is easy to train employees using this app and a barcode scanner. Shipping and receiving has become a lot easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Odoo Inventory?

While the overall interface is very easy to use, sometimes it is difficult to workaround some issues. For example I wanted to make an automation to manufacture products in certain batch sizes, and it took a fair bit of work to make it happen. It may take a bit of a workaround to function perfectly for some situations. But the tools available for creating different automations are extremely robust, and I'm confident they could work for most any business. It might just take some time to tinker with the system and figure out your exact needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Odoo Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are replacing a pen and paper method of inventory, and we have found this extremely helpful. Automatically removing products from inventory when they are either shipped or used for manufacturing other products saves a lot of time. The bar coding functionality also made shipping and receiving a lot easier. Using this application has saved us a lot of headaches that can be caused by human error. "Inventory makes it easy to convert sales into shipments"

What do you like best about Odoo Inventory?

I only use Inventory because it allows me to convert orders from my customers into purchase order with my vendors through a selectable Drop ship option. All I need to do is attach a vendor to any item in the store. When the order comes in I just need to confirm it and it send the purchase order right to the vendor. What do you dislike about Odoo Inventory?

Tasks are created by a master document (Sales Order or Purchase Order). If you don't initiate or change transactions (like receipts, picks, etc) from the original document you can create issues in the system. Example - if you change a qty on an SO you need to ensure that the order has not been shipped (the system will let you do it). It can be picked, but the system will create a second pick for the order. Issue is that it lets you change an order that has been shipped. (it is not easy, put possible, and when it is possible users will figure it out).

There are other examples - such as returns need to be initiated from the shipment not the order.

As long as you can get users to understand that Odoo functions on movement between locations (routes) and transactions are created by source documents (SO, PO), you will be successful. It is an easy system to learn. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Odoo Inventory:

Don't try to bring baggage from previous system with you.

Use a 3rd party that has support within 1-2 time zones. (Odoo support is in Europe for those of you in North America - They do have support in California but they are understaffed and not very effective) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

its kind of difficult to find the reserved inventory for determined SKU´s. That´s the onñly problem I see. I haven´t found where to watch my reserved products, and to which orders they belong. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Odoo Inventory:

You can review all the features of Odoo inventory in some webinars and on youtube. I highly recommend it because it helps me control lots of SKU´s under several locations and its pretty easy to use. Also you can set up your items pretty fast and you can transfer them all over the different locations, you can also choose a costing method which is pretty great because you can handle all type of products. The dashboard is an incredible feature, you can quickly access to Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Odoo Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?

My company´s inventory control is managed with Odoo Inventory, we transfer products between several warehouses and locations, we calculate the costs of the products, deliver the products to your customers warehouses its pretty ease, handle the barcodes, you can set up several warehousing controls including barcodes, lot numbers, packins slips. Its also pretty easy to set up a devolution or to return a shipment, you can always trace the movements of a determined SKU, or transfer order. Reports is a great feature, I´ll add some more mini-features on it, but technically you can watch any info needed by playing with the filters, views and parameters Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Odoo Inventory?

Odoo's inventory management module is a strong enterprise level inventory mangement system. It supports multiple warehouses, locations within warehouses and advanced operations like cross shipping. The module is suitable also for large warehouse operations as it supports wave picking and batch picking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Odoo Inventory?

The module has some limits. For example, it does not support QR type barcodes. The barcodes are of type CODE 39. Also, to load items to the inventory, one would require to program a separate module as it is not possible to import very large number of products in one go.
