## O'Reilly Reviews
 ### 1. A great platform for developing your skills

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Feridun A. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2024

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

O'Reilly has great amount of diverse courses.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

Its lack of AI courses. I hope more AI related courses.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

O'Reilly helps me to improve my developer skills.

 ### 2. Must-Have Resource For IT Professional

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hugh J. | Student, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2023

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

As a software engineer, I use the platform to learn new skills and keep up-to-date with the fast-changing world of the software developer. As new products come and go, I use it to quickly learn something and apply it to my real-world needs.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

Getting access to the full library (which I heartily recommend to all software pros) is a little expensive. If you are fortunate to get it included in your job, use it as much as you can. Sadly, I have to pay for it myself. But this is an investment in your skills and will make your job much more enjoyable.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

From the moment you accept that first IT job, you are faced with the need to refresh your skills constantly. Software and methods change quickly in today's enterprise; you must react, or you will be left behind. When I need to pick up a new skill or get a good overview of something new (or old), I can (a) scour the internet for content, (b) watch endless youtube videos, (c) go to the library, or (d) login to O'Reilly. O'Reilly has definitive resources in books and videos that you can consume using any of their interfaces. A major benefit is trust; you know the content on O'Reilly is written by established authors and curated by a knowledgable staff. There is a great deal of disinformation on the web; O'Reilly spares you of that! I don't want to spend one hour reading a paper only to determine that the author has no idea what they are talking about. My time is valuable.

 ### 3. Can't recommend O'Reilly enough

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael I. | Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2023

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

- Cutting edge content always available (new content is added almost daily)
- The whole spectrum of O'Reilly books available (which are usually the highest quality and therefore the most popular books in tech)
- OnTheGo-availability due to the amazing mobile app which is actively being developed and is being improved constantly (you can submit any feedback anytime)
- Great reading experience using the app. My favorite if I compare it to other book reading apps
- A lot of cutting edge tech books are also available as audiobooks which is great for listening during driving

PS: I've recommended the O'Reilly subscription multiple times to my friends already and don't want to miss it anymore because every idle time of the day can be used to quickly open the app and learn something useful.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

Nothing. Everything is working well and if it wasn't the support/developers were quickly to resolve it with the next update the latest.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've countless examples where I've either learned something quickly from scratch with their content or took the available solution and implemented it at my (usually) work related project.
So the subscription basically paid for itself within the first month of using O'Reilly

 ### 4. Great resource

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 21, 2024

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

Plentiful books and lectures . Ease of use .

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

More hands-on resources needed for DSA , CP

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Technical upskilling

 ### 5. Unlimited knowledge

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel R. | Senior consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

The pervasive technical and business topics covered and the fact that for each topic you can find materials at different levels, starting with entry/beginner and going to the expert level. I find the live sessions extraordinary, covering very diverse and niche topics.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

There would be helpful to have more functionalities related to the playlists and their sections - to be easier to add items to a playlist/section, to glue together items to a section and to be able to copy a section, together with its items from a playlist to another

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The development of technical, business and communication expertise

 ### 6. My place to go to when I need to learn something.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anamaria P. | Junior Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2023

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

I really like that the learning resources are in different forms ( labs, trainings, books, videos), some of them are interactive ( live trainings and bootcamps) and you can get access to valuable knowledge from the best soyrces in one place.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

So far everything is great. It's up to you how you learn better, but here you can choose what suits your style.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helped me prepare for certifications, learn how to implement things at my job, and being able to come back and view trainings again helped me.

 ### 7. My Go-to choice for Tech Books

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sanjay K. | Software Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

I'm a consultant, and whenever I need to look up something new that is likely to come up in a discussion, I first look for books on O'Reilly and make a playlist. I like the Search and Playlists feature. It can find books by title and chapter titles, and you can sort them by relevance or by recent date. Usually, I look at reviews first. I also search for the same book on Amazon and look up reviews there. It allows me to make playlists of the short-listed books on the subject. The search also shows Video courses, but somehow books work better for me. O'Reilly App has great features to highlight text and add notes. I use these features extensively in my first reading. Then after a few chapters, I revise by just visiting highlights and copy the highlighted notes to my learning tool WhizFolders where I write more of my insights on the new things learned. I have found great programming books on O'Reilly. And recently, when I wanted to learn options trading, I was surprised to find many books on Options. Finally, I zeroed in on the best Options book I'm reading now, which is very expensive if you were to buy it from elsewhere. It has been an excellent deal for me as I have used O'Reilly for over 15 years.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

Sometimes I may not find a book there, but this happens only with Kindle books where the author exclusively publishes on Kindle only. But when reading them on other apps, I miss the features I mentioned earlier.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It saves my time and money as I often discard a book within a few chapters if I don't like it. It would be a pain if I were to buy the book and then discard it.

 ### 8. O'Reilly is the 4th Emergency Service 😁

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adrian M. | Data Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

Constantly innovating and seeking new ways to make learning discoverable and always exploring new methods and technologies and ways to apply that generate ROI. Have subscriptions to other platforms as well (Plural sight, A Cloud Guru, Udemy Business etc.) and while I like content/aspects of these others, imho nothing is as complete or beats O'R!

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

Hard to wade through the amount of content to find the real nuggets of 'gold' - would be nice to have more reviews (users need to take the time to do this unfortunately!) of books/videos/learning paths and why they're good/bad/indifferent - we're all time-poor, so I resent spending time wading through content I already am familiar with just to try and discover something new!

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Life long learning in a digestible/consumable format.

 ### 9. Everything in on place

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sergey P. | Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2023

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

I love having thousands of books to choose from, also adding books, courses, audiobook to lists is really useful.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

I hated the previous audiobook design it was terrible, the new one is spot on.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having all the content in one place without having to buy every single piece of content, just like netflix but for learning.

 ### 10. O'Reilly Goodness

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vance B. | Software Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

O'reilly is a world class technology immersion platform and includes a myriad number of reference materials, learning paths, insight from industry leaders and interactive labs that enable, empower and unlock a professionals true potential.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

With every great system or platform there are always things to improve. It is readily apparent that their roadmap to a brighter future empowering professionals is well established and there is nothing I dislike about O'reilly.

**Recommendations to others considering O'Reilly:**

Organize and follow playlists that center around your primary skills/interests to stay focused. Pick 1 or 2 additional areas that you want to expand into.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

O'Reilly provides a credible and valuable one-stop-shop for the technologist. With my partner, O'Reilly, learning new things, brushing up on current skills, and interacting with labs to solidify my experiences have enabled my career in Information Technology to reach new heights. Thanks, O'Reilly!

 ### 11. Oreilly Access for Network Engineer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Muhammad I. | Network Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

All books that support my career development are available on this website. Aside from the official books the expert wrote, the lesson video tutorial provides quick and fast learning that supports the book we read. As a Network Engineer, I subscribe O'Reilly for cisco press and live lesson.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

The book from a specific vendor like packt, I found low quality content. As a Network Engineer, I subscribe O'Reilly for CiscoPress and live lesson. It will be great if O'Reilly also provide online LAB for Network engineer so we can do hands-on practice all in one.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

O'Reilly access provide greater supplement to my reading for skill development in Networking. Especially, O'Reilly having a great access to Cisco Press books which I need.

 ### 12. Great Library of Resources for Quick Learning

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Defense & Space | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

Platform is compatible on most systems & anything with a web browser. I love how it syncs up my place between iPad/iPhone/Browsers. There's not a lot of DRM bullcrap.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

The content isn't DRM-free & I can't read it on my kindle or older iPads w/ legacy apps that just read PDFs but honestly the conveinence of it syncing between devices makes this okay. Discovery is a bit harder. You can only stay signed-in on 3 devices so when I go from iPhone/iPad/upstairs/downstairs PCs, I get signed out which is annoying. First world problems though.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick onboarding to new platforms. I can learn how to use standard libraries in Python to accomplish anything rather quickly. I've used interactive learning platforms to familiarize myself with a new library & implement it into my application within the same day.

 ### 13. I love it!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raquel C. | Product Delivery Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 30, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

There are a lot of sessions, interactive learning, conferences, etc. 2022 was crazy and I didn't have much time at all - I have to continue using it in 2023!

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

I wish there were a few monitor-led courses, so that I keep myself accountable with peers.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Knowledge gap - I wasn't able to finish my studies, so I'm learning about Product and other things in here.

 ### 14. Expert led event and live training sessions are best on Oreilly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Irfan A S. | Team Lead- Integration/Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 23, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

Expert led live half day sessions with real scenarios helped me a lot to learn how to create soltion Architecture. There books collection is amazing as well.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

I did not came across anything i did not like

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is providing very structured and well organized trainings around many technologies and complex topics such as creating Solution Architecture.

 ### 15. It has a high technical and business content, with a wide variety of formats.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabriel G. | Product Owner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2023

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

Very up-to-date content, formats in video, audio, books. Live events and with recordings to watch later. It has labs to practice.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

Formats only in English, maybe a little the price for countries in Latin America.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Find software designs for specific topics and training for certifications.

 ### 16. A great range of tools for personal development!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yannis A. | Senior Project Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

There are many courses taught at a reasonable level by clearly experienced professionals. I also like the range of tools provided while attending a class.

There is also a great variety of resources, from courses to classes to e-books.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

Not a dislike, but as a non-techie, I find that the vast majority of content is only accessible/meaningful to people with a solid technical background. I guess that I am just in the wrong demographic, but I would still like more non-technical business courses to be added.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping me with my Personal Development by offering beneficial resources in my day-to-day job. For example, Project & Product Management, Strategic Thinking, and Better Presentations are subjects of great interest.

 ### 17. O'Reilly is a great multi-faceted learning platform!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael T. | Cybersecurity Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

I like having the playlists so I can organize my training as it suits me. I currently have several that I add to as I find something worthwhile to follow up on at a later date. I think I'm running out of space on my calendar for all of the topics I wish to learn about lol.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

Sometimes I feel that the home page is overwhelming. Too busy for me, then I have to hunt around to find what I would like to work on. The History somewhat satisfies this, but I think a ribbon that goes above "ON OUR RADAR" which has either a thumbnail of the course/book/video, for me that could be the proverbial "game-changer"

**Recommendations to others considering O'Reilly:**

Great all-around platform!

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Expanding my knowledge base and honing my skills. I've been in IT for well over 30 years, things have drastically changed since I got my NT 3.5x MCSE and my Novell CNE 3.x back in the 90s. I want to stay relevant and O'Reilly is helping me there.

 ### 18. O'Reilly - One platform for all your tech education

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shriram J. | Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

O'Reilly provides access to books and courses from most of the popular publishers under one subscription. I can access my whole reading list/library from any platform(web, mobile). I can create a playlist of not just books but also videos and individual chapters from different books and share them with my colleagues. O'Reilly also provides sandboxes and interactive learning environments within the books/courses such that one does not have to do any complicated setup on their computers. I can directly get started with the coding right within the books and get my hands-on experience.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

The interactive books and sandboxes are limited in scenarios, I wish there will be more interactive books in future.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

O'Reilly has given me access to books from multiple publishers under one subscription so that I don't have to purchase multiple subscriptions or books from different publishers. Also, I get access to try sandbox scenarios right within the same platform while I am reading the book, which is a win-win situation for me.

 ### 19. Best learning library hands down

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James L. | Manager, Software Development Engineering, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

O'Reilly has the most publishers, so has the most books. Also, there is a nearly endless selection of videos, and a stream of live learning with experts, usually who are also their book authors. Other platforms are limited to a single publisher, but O'Reilly has themselves, Addisson Wesley, APress, Manning, Pragmatic Programmers, and so on. If there is technical content I want and it is not on O'Reilly, it is probably free, or it doesn't exist.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

The audiobook feature is bad. There are business titles that I want on audiobook, but it is difficult to set it up to listen in the background during workouts or chores. For example, playback stopped when the screen locked itself. Neither Audible nor a podcast player do this.

**Recommendations to others considering O'Reilly:**

It's everything you need to get good at technology.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a software engineering manager, I need to keep refreshing my skills in order to stay relevant. If I want more than a blog article level of understanding, I need resources like this. This is the best one.

 ### 20. Great library of resources for anybody working on software!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Indranil C. | Computer Scientist 2, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

The added benefit of having all the pre-requisite and follow up material for all training sessions available right on the site itself. It makes the tech sessions much more enriching!

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

One of the common grouches that I do have is regarding the connection drops and freezes observed during the tech sessions despite not being on a VPN and being on a speedy network. Another pain point is the dearth of technical sessions around the C++ language. Though the library is replete with books on C++, there are hardly (in my presence on the platform, there's only been 1 session) any sessions on C++>

**Recommendations to others considering O'Reilly:**

If this is offered as part of technical development within your company, use it!

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I believe the biggest problem with extant material is the lack of coherence and direction regarding the subject matter. O'Reilly solves it in a multi-fold manner, firstly, by having the feature of expert playlists to refer which provide a good insight into what are the essential books to browse through for that subject area, and secondly, by having tech sessions with pertinent course material.

 ### 21. Great Platform for Learning and Reference

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vishal V. | Senior Manager - Enterprise Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

The access to unlimited books, quality tutorials and expert playlists.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

Interactive Learning works for people creating products using certain technologies only. It does not work for an environment with a lot of off-shelf products.

**Recommendations to others considering O'Reilly:**

Unlike other platforms, Oreilly has a strong content creation experience that spans across industries and technologies. This is very useful when I have had to research new topics in a bit of detail.

I also use it as a learning platform for new topics that are not related to what I do but still within the same field. This ensures that I get learnings different to what I do on a day to day basis.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Access to quality information is about emerging technologies is what I find most useful. The books has always been good. With the addition of video tutorials, playlists etc. I can use it as a reference as well as study materials.

 ### 22. The O'Reilly platform as an accessible learning tool.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Walt L. | Data Analytics, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

The extensive library of materials is a wonderful gift. Any book on data analytics can be coupled with free open-source python programs to facilitate a learning path.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

Once in a while, presentations are prone to have software glitches. Also in the beginning tutorials, some instructors still jump over step-by-step instructions rather than using some of the time to make sure that the attendees are following.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am big into texts. This relates back to # 1 above, I can pursue self-learning very easily. Learning new skills and tools makes me more productive. It also allows me to bring new tools to the table for analysis which allows me to continue contributing in the area of data analytics.

 ### 23. It's a valuable information channel

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Antonio A. | Senior Solaris/Linux System Administrator & Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

It is one of the most essential and complete tools that I currently have, and that helps me stay updated on the topics of my interest. It is a highly comprehensive and helpful tool for anyone who wants to get up-to-date information of value and who wants or is looking to keep their knowledge up to date. It is practical, easy to use and even allows you to carry it, use it and consult it on mobile devices.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

The characteristics of the tools are adequate, which is why I do not value any of them that I have not liked yet

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides me with new information, it helps me update important matters

 ### 24. Compressive platform, full of resources in different topics and a great variety of delivery methods.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carlos B. | Customer Project Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

I love the great variety of topics that you can study in O'Reilly: from Business Acumen to the most technical topics, all is there! And it's not only the topics: they have a huge variety of delivery methods: ebooks, asynchronous videos, live classes: they have a delivery method that will fix for you!

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

Usually, you will receive a weekly newsletter centered on technical skills. If you need Business Acumen training you must to login into their platform, no newsletter for this kind of training.

**Recommendations to others considering O'Reilly:**

Review their catalog, and if their delivery method of your topic fits with you: go ahead for that knowledge!

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You will find, in a one-stop-shop, several training topics in a bunch of delivery ways. This saves your valuable time because, on a single platform, you can find your study topics with the right delivery method.

 ### 25. The great source of knowledge

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anton S. | Senior Business Analyst/ Technical Product Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

I've been using O'Reilly Learning for over five years and have become a big fan of the service.
My top pros are:
- Access to high-quality content in different formats (books, audiobooks, video courses, practice tests, interactive sandboxes).
- Great live events on various professional topics with industry experts.
- Web and mobile application access.
- Handy UI/ UX with useful content management features (playlists, history, live events recordings, downloading to access offline).

Upskilling and keeping my professional knowledge up-to-date.
O'Reilly is a reliable source of information for me. It saves my time and provides high-quality content.

 ### 26. Great experience. A lot of knowledge waiting for us

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

You always find what you are looking for. Even when you are not looking for something special you find something interesting to learn. From my point of view, there is no comparison with others. Thank you.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

This is not a bad thing, but there are a lot of books and videos, as well as live events that you don't have enough time for everything. Would be great to have more videos or career paths.

**Recommendations to others considering O'Reilly:**

O'Reilly is a great choice when you are willing to speed up your knowledge and technical skills. Please consider taking the live events and make sure to use the interactive features the company provides you.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

What I like the most is that if I have a technical question, for sure I will find an answer there. And yes, I feel more productive because I find what I need in one single place.

 ### 27. Good online library for technical topics

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rohit S. | Documentation and Training Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

O'Reilly is a good enough platform to learn some technical skills to help you grow your career. I love that they have a very active community and have a number of webinars and interactive learning sessions scheduled daily.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

Though O'Reilly covers almost all technical topics, I think it lacks on the creative front. The UI is a little bland, and the repository has more online books than courses. This can be problematic if you want to learn via visually interactive lessons.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

O'Reilly has helped me learn the basics of SQL and programming languages. The courses included some test assessments, which further helped in getting better at those topics.

 ### 28. High quality content from a lot of tech topics

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Victor M H. | T, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

The live events are outstanding; you can learn about a topic of interest in a short time. Besides, you have the recording available if you want to review it later.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

There should be the option to have the live events available even if you cannot attend on time because the content is precious. They could create a library of that content as well

**Recommendations to others considering O'Reilly:**

Look at the list of live events

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me keep up to date with the latest trends in technology. Besides, there are video courses with good instructors and excellent content. All of that helps me solve specific tasks at work

 ### 29. Great place to find great material

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jorma L. | Senior IT Service Owner, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

The site has a lot of material - books, videos, etc. The material is geared towards IT, but there is material from other business areas too. The search on the O'Reilly Learning site is excellent too, and one can find relevant material quite easily.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

One downside is that there is so much interesting material that one might have a tough time choosing what to read.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the past, it was time and money-consuming to find good books to read, but nowadays, one can find more than enough material about IT in general and also material about hot or trending topics.

 ### 30. A universe of timely, relevant content

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Damian R. | Owner/Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

The comfort of knowing that a massive library of content is always there waiting for, especially content that I didn't even know I needed yet.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

Searching for content can be tedious. Better filters for content type would be helpful (live, written, video, etc.).

Exploring content to determine relevance can be improved. For example, I have trouble exploring the content of videos in video playlists to determine if they are relevant or to follow my place in the series or to explore ahead.

**Recommendations to others considering O'Reilly:**

It is well worth the annual fee. Make sure to keep an eye on live events to enrich your experience.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lately I have been leaning heavily on the live events. I did not even consider this content when I first subscribed, but now I find myself exploring them--and signing up--regularly.

 ### 31. investing in yourself is the most important thing to do.Getting an OReilly sub is a good investment

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2023

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

Coverage! Oreilly has most of the book I needed

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

I wish the price gets cheaper. I used to subscribe to it for a cheaper price somehow I lost that account and never get the same price I used to get

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There's too many new technologies arising, OReilly keeps me updated and relevant

 ### 32. Best e-learning platform on the market.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrei C. | Technical Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

Not only you have access to books and videos but you get access to recorded conferences and sandbox environments to test and play around with different technologies

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

The subscription price is quite high, even with discount codes.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working with the latest technologies where the community is not that large, I need a place with great quality content to better understand how it actually works.

 ### 33. Valuable resources

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Niusha S. | Behavioral Researcher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

I love the fact that there are many educational books and also an audiobook version for many!

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

I do not like the fact that I cannot use my kindle to read the books

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are making scientific and nonfiction books accessible and I have educated myself on so many topics using their amazing resources.

 ### 34. It was overwhelming.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yogesh S. | Technical Associate, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

It has a lot of content for various domains of Computer Science. Also, lots of books are also present on the platform. It has live streams feature also.
It is somewhat lagging in content for some topics.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

Learning paths are difficult to find. Also, there should be an interface to measure the progress on that path.
It could be better if lots of learning paths curated to various roles should be present in the home menu.

**Recommendations to others considering O'Reilly:**

Yes, it is a well-curated easy-to-use platform offering courses of various levels for various roles.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has lots of good courses on cybersecurity and I am using this platform to increase my knowledge for my job growth.
Yes it has helped me understand various topics required in my job.

 ### 35. O'Reilly Pros and Cons

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ephraim S. | Senior Software Engineering Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

The best part of O'Reilly is that there are complete books available. The books help one in becoming proficient in the subject by taking the person from no knowledge to progress to proficiency.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

The search does not always get you what you need. Furthermore, some of the live sessions seem to be at a very beginner level, not matching the level of the rest of the content.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

O'Reilly helps me become proficient quickly on a technology or proccess that I do not have any knowledge on. Because O'Reilly has books, not just articles, there is a natural progression of depth in the subject is helpful. It starts at a beginner but goes deep as well. The breadth of good content is very helpful for solving problems.

 ### 36. Great experience with O'Reilly courses

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julia B. | Python Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

- The courses have a well-defined structure
- They break the course into a lot of small videos which helps to understand the content and every content has a hands-on activity, which I think is the best to learn (in practice)

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

- the search engineer could be better and also the algorithm to suggest new content.
- I also think that they could improve the user interface to bring a better user experience.

**Recommendations to others considering O'Reilly:**

one of the best websites to learn about technology, especially in the IT field.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have just started to work with Linux and they have a great course about that with one of the most known experts in the theme. It helped me to achieve faster a skill that I needed at work.

 ### 37. Junior Software Developer

**Reviewed by:** Maryna B. | Junior Software Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

The vast amount of books and courses allow you to find everything you need. You can obtain practical experience following the guides. You can improve your theoretical knowledge.

I can not find anything that annoys me or make to stop using O`Reilly.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

O`Reilly helps to solve problems by providing a wide knowledge base in different fields.

 ### 38. O'Reilly is a exceptional producer of learning information and tools. Great product. Great Computer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joseph J. K. W. | Information Technology Support Analyst, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

This software has multiple offerings including books, online learning, virtual environments, webinars, and live presentions. Their collection of great material is hard to beat!

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

I wish we could sync the books to the Kindle or another e-reader. I would like to be able to read offline in bed and it is difficult with this software. Though I don't think that is the fault of O'Reilly.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping up with technology is difficult. Books and classes are expensive. This subscription allows you to access all the latest information at a great price! All their products including books, online learning, virtual environments, webinars, and live presentions are kept up to date and they have some of the best producers and author in the world.

 ### 39. A must have resource for technical engineers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marcel G. | D, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

I like a lot the ebooks available at O'Reilly. The UX and UI are excellent and beyond competitors when reading it on the laptop.
I have less experience with the sandbox environment and the labs offered as well, not to mention the great educational series they offer.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

The subscription price is relatively high.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For me working in IT as an architect, the number of books required to get the best practice advice and understand the options is huge. Having an information resource like O'Reilly is super comfortable.

 ### 40. Best Platform for Finding All Type of Learning Resources

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chandresh M. | System Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

The thing I like most about O'Reilly is its quality of content. Every subject I have learned from O'Reilly is just awesome from which I got lots of knowledge and I applied it in my work which got me appreciation.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

The thing I don't like about O'Reilly is its web platform interface, because if I started attending some video course or some live session on the platform then if I want to find it again it is a little bit difficult to find because of its little complex interface.

**Recommendations to others considering O'Reilly:**

I recommend everyone who wants to learn something new in their respective field.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using O'Reilly to update my skills which require in my work and from that I manage to get business value for my company. By using this platform quality and performance are increased.

 ### 41. O'Reilly reshapes the way how my team learns technology

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Biotechnology | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

I start with Oreilly from E-books, but my best experience is with the learning path and live events.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

E-books, because it seems stupid to me that reading books requires network connections. Another issue would be the language support. It lacks the support of the Chinese language, and so far my experience is that China is on a different Tech branch from the rest of the world. If we cannot solve the language blockers, it would be hard for us to bring the market back to the normal track.

**Recommendations to others considering O'Reilly:**

O'Reilly is providing good learning solutions for developers and your Tech team. As they are a well-known programming book publisher, they have quite a good amount of book resources on their website as well as some of them in audio format. Their interactive solution also provides a good place for interactive learning. Another strength is their chatbot (together with the search solution) which is quite accurate to provide with you the information you want.
Moreover, you would be able to join the live events where they always invite experienced tech leaders to give hands-on mentoring on building the right solution.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before getting into O'Reilly learning, it is always hard for me to find the reference. For example, I read something from an O'Reilly book about a rarely mentioned grammar sugar, but when I wanted to use that in a real project I am writing, I forgot it and would need to go back to see the reference. It was so hard before as search engines cannot find that unless you have a clear memory of some keywords, and paper books cannot support search functions. The O'Reilly learning solution solves the issue for me.

 ### 42. Super-sized Business Learning

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dawn M. | S, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

I like that a particular book or article can be recommended to me and before I purchase it, I look for it on the O'Reilly platform. I've developed several playlists and downloaded the App to my phone and tablet, so no matter the time (nights, weekends, travel) I always have my reading at hand.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

It is definitely more IT-focused than business-focused as far as content, but that is more of an observation rather than a dislike.

**Recommendations to others considering O'Reilly:**

If your company provides access to the O'Reilly platform, I strongly urge you to use it to your full benefit!

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am working on my PMP certification. The classes that O'Reilly offers have saved me time and money.

 ### 43. Comprehensive platform, perfect mix between theory and practice

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alberto A. | Fullstack Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

You'll find must-read classics and find sandboxes that let you test your skills right away. Mainly follow expert suggestions list from renowned people. You'll find best-selling books here.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

The search/explore functionality is a bit slow, I feel like in Netflix, often taking too much time browsing content than actually learning. I would love to see some assessment-based learning paths like other platforms had.

**Recommendations to others considering O'Reilly:**

Look for O'Reilly if you want to get access to all-time tech book classics.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Knowledge management (leveling, up-skilling, etc). Keeping knowledge up to date always pays off and lets you be more productive. The variety of content included also can help to move laterally and understand other areas.

 ### 44. Great learning opportunities

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Barbara B. | Quality Technician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

O'Reilly offers a great variety of resources using various mediums. This enhances the learning experience with videos, ebooks, live lectures. I have used the resources to help create processes for my company

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

I honsetly have not found any downsides to O'Reilly. I access the resources regularly and the are well organized and current, which is so helpful since technology rapidly changes.

**Recommendations to others considering O'Reilly:**

I would recommend that you at least try it, even if you only do a single class

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping me to learn more about JavaScript, Google Apps Scripts and Web Page creation. These resources are helping me to advance in my career and also complete my degree in Data Analitics.

 ### 45. Easy access to a fenomenal content

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carlos S. | Sr. Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

A huge help to keep us updated with advances in technology in our industry. The events help a lot. The speakers are great, well prepared and explain very well. Learning gets much easier.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

The audiobook player on mobile phones is horrible. It uses a video player that is always on full screen, so it's very hard not to move the time slider, or navigate to different chapters.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It gets experts on trending technologies close to the people, allowing many to get us up to date with the advances in technology in our industry. It makes all its great content easier to access and reduces the learning curve.

 ### 46. Learn Anything!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeremy N. | Tactics Officer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

The most useful aspect of O'Reilly Media is the ability to curate your own training plan or access a training plan curated by an expert in the subject.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

I wish all of the resources had a text-to-speech function. They have audio books, but the non-audio books don't allow a text-to-speech which helps speed up reading.

**Recommendations to others considering O'Reilly:**

O'Reilly is honestly the best learning resource platform I've used. They aren't trying to sell you on anything. It's just quality content and experts teaching you exactly what you need.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

O'Reilly helps centralize all the pertinent training on a subject in one place. Books, videos, manuals... everything is in one place and easily accessable.

 ### 47. SR UX Researcher

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

I like the content is offered in different formats. I can listen to audio books while commuting or doing chores and read digital content as well.

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

The playback on the audioplayer doesn't always work seamlessly with my phone's UI. It hides some of the buttons to escape the application and it often doesn't go back to the appropriate "last spot" so I have to fast forward to where I left off.

**Recommendations to others considering O'Reilly:**

I would tell others that though O'Reilly has long been a source for textbooks, they now offer so much more and are worth checking out for quality, reliable content.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I like to stay up to date with topics and trends in my industry and find new ways to approach UX research and design. O'Reilly is a credible source I trust that has easily accessible content on subjects I care about.

 ### 48. A treasure for those who want to grow

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Program Development | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 04, 2022

**What do you like best about O'Reilly?**

I appreciate the amount of study material (mostly books), which is always of high quality. In addition, O'Reilly's 'Live Events' are an invaluable resource for delving into concepts of interest!

**What do you dislike about O'Reilly?**

The quality of the web interface could be improved, also the smartphone app is not always of immediate use.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It grants me access to knowledge that, if found elsewhere, would cost a lot of money. It puts me in contact with experienced professionals who are ready to share their knowledge. It provides an easily searchable 'knowledge base' (via the new search functions). Allows the student to follow optimised learning paths

 ### 49. Best content curation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Francine C. | Integration Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2022

 ### 50. O'Reily is tops

I'm actually unaware of any downsides of the platform. It does a good job of teaching and educating.

**Recommendations to others considering O'Reilly:**

Take advantage of all it has to offer.

**What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Continuous improvement and learning in an age of big data. The O'Reilly platform's Question and Answer section gives me access to credible, accurate information from a broad array of subject matter experts.
