"Nylas is the best!"
5/5
What do you like best about Nylas?

Very developer friendly with lots of security certifications to give you peace of mind. Good customer service as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nylas?

Some of the technical documentation can be a little unclear, and sometimes an API call can take a long time but it's not clear why. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Huge time saver"
5/5
What do you like best about Nylas?

Nylas has enabled our small engineering team to bring e-mail features into our product much more quickly than we would have been able to do on our own. In addition to providing a uniform interface across different email platforms, the documentation is full of helpful guidance and caveats that helped us cut down on the engineering time needed to build production worthy features on top of e-mail. Also, the support team has been truly amazing, they are both responsive to our questions and proactive about reviewing our integration and reaching out to us when new developments can help us with our specific use cases. Also, the pricing is transparent and easy to get started with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nylas?

There is no ability to limit the scope of e-mail sync, e.g. to exclude messages that are entirely from and to an internal domain or specific addresses, so even though Nylas has achieved SOC II, some of our customers are unwilling to have sensitive internal e-mail synced to any third party (be it us or our providers). The API performance is a bit inconsistent in terms of request latency for viewing email messages/threads. The only other tricky spot is that some provisioning actions must be taken through the dashboard with no API support. A full terraform provider would be great to integrate with the rest of our infrastructure as code deployments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy email and calendar integrations"
4/5
What do you like best about Nylas?

Simple API for email syncing and sending, also calendar management and contacts management is easy.

Seamless integrations with Gmail and Outlook and other email providers.

And the best thing about it: they will handle all the problems related to IMAP syncing and bulk email sending for you, so you don't need to worry about it. This alone will save you many months of development time and stress. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nylas?

If your volume is large (syncing thousands of email accounts and sending tens of thousands of emails every day), you will face some issues with 5-10% of your API calls every day, and syncing might be stopped for up to 1h for some email accounts, so you must plan for that when developing your integrations, add redundancies, handle outages and retry when needed.

But you would face those problems anyway (and many, many others) if you were working directly with IMAP, so it's not an unexpected thing. Bulk email sending/syncing is hard.

Also, the tech support is not very helpful/responsive sometimes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A very neat email client with some interesting features"
4/5
What do you like best about Nylas?

It works spotlessly on my linux machine, was super easy to configure and it has some interesting options: e.g. I can send an email and ask nylas to reminds me to follow up on it if I don't receive any answer within a given time, or I can enable an option that will track who's opening the email I'm sending. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nylas?

The lack of a proper calendar implementation. It would really be nice to:

1/ visualise the emails per day on a calendar

2/ be able to set appointments, meeting, etc and save that since these are things I often need to consult at the same time I'm writting/reading emails. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nylas?

Immature product, i.e. initial sync takes a day for most customers

Do not allow you to access all fields (i.e. Gmail object ID needed to open a mail in gmail)

Overselling their capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
