**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Varadarajan G. | Engagement manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Designcenter?**

AI enabled Assembly and Drawing. Its simply amazing

**What do you dislike about Designcenter?**

Nothing specific, somtimes when it hangs while working on large assemblies ..we go annoyed

**What problems is Designcenter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Absolutely, it supports product design and development activities. It benefits both us and our customers by helping us deliver and release products at a steady pace.

It helps solve my CAD design problems.

  ### 6. Selection Intent Tools Make Workflows Smoother

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Clayton E. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Designcenter?**

I really enjoy the selection intent tools.

**What do you dislike about Designcenter?**

The found relations are frustrating. I understand when creating a profile or just placing down lines and arcs that they can be created and that is helpful but if I am asking the software to make 2 lines parallel I should not have to turn on persistent relations as that is not "Found" I am creating that and it should take higher priority

**What problems is Designcenter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating 3d models from 2d drawings for customer.

  ### 7. Commands to be Re-organized. Simplify with User Friendly Dialog Boxes.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hari V. | Lead Design Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Designcenter?**

I like the tight integration between CAD and FEM models which totally avoids any kind of exporting and importing needs for conducting FEA analysis. The graphics and its ability to handle large assemblies have improved over the years. And I also love the model cleanup tools where I was able to delete similar sized features all in one click as it detects and selects all the instances automatically once I select the feature. This significantly reduces the preprocessing time.

**What do you dislike about Designcenter?**

My last responce on this has not improved yet. Still I have to search for a specific command to access it. For example 'Custom Symbol' command. Commands should not repeat in different workbench. Serious Improvement is need in Command Organization. Sketch tool constraints are too annoying. For example, deleting relations for a curve is a headache..Once I click a curve or line, user should have clear list of constraints on that curve..User should be able delete them easily.

**What problems is Designcenter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

NX helps in Designing our products,it helps in completing interference check of complex assemblies.

**Official Response from Yolanda Dong:**

> Hari, we understand your concern about the overwhelming number of options and duplicate tools. We'll share your feedback with our product team for further improvement.

  ### 8. Fantastic Tool for Handling Large Assemblies

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jesse g. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Designcenter?**

Fantastic tool for large assemblies when other CAD softwares fail or close during the project, NX always keeps running. I have rarely seen NX crash like other software programs do.

**What do you dislike about Designcenter?**

More complex and less user friendly than some other CAD softwares that I have used (ie SolidWorks, Solid Edge)

**What problems is Designcenter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Large data handling is the key benefit. Our assemblies are huge and would crash other platforms. It is easy enough to learn with prior experience of other CAD softwares

  ### 9. Feature-Rich and Easy to Integrate with the Teamcenter Ecosystem

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Designcenter?**

The wide range of features, along with how easy it is to integrate with the Teamcenter ecosystem.

**What do you dislike about Designcenter?**

Unfortunately, NX doesn’t have strong backward compatibility with Teamcenter, especially when it comes to integration. If your Teamcenter version is behind what NX supports, you often end up having to write custom scripts to make things work.

**What problems is Designcenter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Intricate design requirements when the final product needs to work in thousands of feet below earth with limited communication bandwidth.

  ### 10. Robust 3D Design with Intelligent Metadata for Streamlined Downstream Processes

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Maritime | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Designcenter?**

It can create robust 3D designs and includes intelligent metadata that supports automated design while feeding downstream processes. Lots of features.

**What do you dislike about Designcenter?**

It does not support interoperability/import of .jt standard assembly files with PMI well in a managed Teamcenter > NX environment. Sometimes there are settings that are hard to find that can be the trick to fixing a tough issue you are dealing with.

**What problems is Designcenter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it to model the design of our products.

  ### 11. Siemens NX 12 CAD

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Edgar M. | Manufacturing Engineer, Manufacturing, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Designcenter?**

It is simple to use and pretty quickly you are able to get the hang of modeling in Siemens NX 12 in the CAD environment. There is modeling, assembly, layouts, constraints, reference sets, arrangements and sequencing that help you better visualize your models within an assembly. It is a super simple implementation with SAP PLM environment and is used weekly if not on a daily basis.

**What do you dislike about Designcenter?**

I don't really have a downside for siemens NX CAD other than that you are limited to what you can design because of licensing. There is a lot more potential for the CAD environment but depending on what your field/company needs that's all they'll buy.

**What problems is Designcenter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is solving tolerancing, layouts and clearances that we might need to see virtually before applying it in real life at our plant. Meaning that we are seeing it on the computer before hitting or going out of tolerance before installing any sort of equipment, tooling, assemblies and much more.

**Official Response from Tomaz Povsic:**

> Thank you for sharing your positive experience! We're thrilled to hear that you find it simple to use and that it is helping you save time and resources by allowing you to see potential issues virtually before implementing them in real life. If you would like to share more feedback or connect with users around the world, we invite you to join our community. https://community.sw.siemens.com/s/topic/0TO4O000000MihTWAS/nx-cad

**Reviewed by:** Phạm C. | Project Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Designcenter?**

In the version of 2412, by allowing for selection of similar edges it is more faster for modeling. This is really good point.

**What do you dislike about Designcenter?**

In version NX2412, the movement of components seems not smooth. To move a component i have to turn on and off feature for allowing to use contraints. That leads to in some cases, i forget to turn feature on for using the contraints again.
