NVivo is the best method I have found to analyze large amounts of text for specific words and sentiment. When one intially uploads text to the software, it will do an automatic coding of the text. Once the coding is done, you can adjust settings to see different patterns in your data. Particularly good for looking at survey or interview data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I found that NVivo sometimes coded sentiment incorrectly, particularly if there were elements of humor in the text. The bad thing about the automatic coding is that you can't get rid of it in the file, you just have to adjust the settings so no longer see it or make your codes visually distinctive. But the pre-existing incorrect sentiment codes led to us discovering a few unnoticed errors in our data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
