At times, it felt less intuitive, especially when switching between different types of analyses. It can be organized by user cases, research categories, or documents. Additionally, it has many options for analyzing the information obtained from fieldwork such as interviews or surveys. **What do you dislike about NVivo?** What I like the least about Nvivo is the access to the toolbar. Some options have very small text and it is not easy to understand which button is the correct one. **What problems is NVivo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Nvivo is my primary tool in my research and thesis with my postgraduate students. It allows me to organize information by categories (nodes), and make annotations on the margin of each coding to be used in the research report. It also allows me to obtain different types of data analysis, such as word clouds and coding frequency. Universities and research institutions should understand that NVivo is as invaluable as many statistical programmes. I do not know if the lack of availability is associated with the price of NVivo or other issues. When one intially uploads text to the software, it will do an automatic coding of the text. Once the coding is done, you can adjust settings to see different patterns in your data. Particularly good for looking at survey or interview data. **What do you dislike about NVivo?** I found that NVivo sometimes coded sentiment incorrectly, particularly if there were elements of humor in the text. The bad thing about the automatic coding is that you can't get rid of it in the file, you just have to adjust the settings so no longer see it or make your codes visually distinctive. But the pre-existing incorrect sentiment codes led to us discovering a few unnoticed errors in our data. **Recommendations to others considering NVivo:** Make sure to keep track of your NVivo license keys! **What problems is NVivo solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is quicker and more convenient to use NVivo in major qualitative analysis projects. There's specific requirements that need to be reviewed before using the software on your computer. Make sure your computer meets the criteria to use on your computer. **Recommendations to others considering NVivo:** I said this a couple times make sure your RAM on your computer meets the criteria for Nvivo. There are some requirements you have to review before using it. It works wonderfully on my dell. There's cool graphics to download and show when you're ready present data. It's interface is very conducive to learning how to code textual data. In addition to aiding in the learning process, once learned, it was easy to use. It's a tool that helps quantitative data tell a more well-rounded story. **What do you dislike about NVivo?** I did not come across anything that I strongly disliked during my time using NVivo. I do recall having a bit of an issue with uploading another person's qualitative data/coding into my program for cross-analysis, but not a glaring enough problem to stand out to me now looking back. **Recommendations to others considering NVivo:** Great tool for qualitative analysis. Highly recommend in a research setting where qualitative data is of value. **What problems is NVivo solving and how is that benefiting you?** I used NVivo for global health research and it gave me insight to the context of my quantitative data. I appreciate how easy it is to develop nodes and to keep the data organized. I haven't used all of the features (e.g., importing images, videos), but it's a great way for me to analyze my interview data. **What do you dislike about NVivo?** It's hard to share projects with colleagues in different physical locations. Transferring files isn't easy. For example, I was working on a project with a colleague and we weren't able to figure out how to share NVivo files electronically. We contacted the help staff at NVivo and their advice wasn't helpful. We tried sharing the files through several cloud services, but we could not upload them successfully. I think if NVivo could figure out a way for collaborators (who work in different physical locations, on different networks) to share files this would make the project much better. **What problems is NVivo solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm in academics. I use this program for my research. I do a lot of interview research and this program is helpful for me to manage my datasets, run reports on my data, visualize it, and so on. Eventually, I will use this program to teach my students how to conduct qualitative research. Even though I'm early in my career and have used this project sporadically, it's my favorite. ### 32. I used it for organizing notes from interviews and focus groups and was able to use it to inform survey questions and publishing results in a more quantifiable way. double checking of data is also possible, which is very handy if you are publishing your results. **What do you dislike about NVivo?** I can't say I had any problems with it. But I am not an advanced user so improvements are possible. **Recommendations to others considering NVivo:** If your company can pay for it, definitely get it if you do qualitative research but would like to organize your notes and thoughts in an easily verifiable way.
