We can almost customize everything in the application. The UI is modern. It's a web application using web standards : html, CSS, Javascript.... Polymer is powerfull. Some features we had with the old UI are not any more in the new web UI. The smartphone application cannot be used because it is not as customizable as the web application. They help you to succed in your Nuxeo projects, so do not hesitate to contact them !!! If you want a really strong and easily maintainable application, you'll probably have to code in Java, but if you just want a quickly deployed application, javascript will be sufficient. Using the Studio available with the Nuxeo Online Services subscription will allow you to product a simple application as quick as it is possible nearly without writing a code line. The ability to use Nuxeo as an OpenSource platform is appealing. But the kicker is Nuxeo Studio, the proprietary configuration engine. Much of what may get customized in Nuxeo can be done "headless" via the APIs and this is how I have approached its use to date. While there are some use cases where access to documents and/or content via Nuxeo's Web UI would be valuable, our user-base is best served by knowing as little as necessary to do their jobs. While Nuxeo remains a flexible and powerful platform from which we can manage a wide variety of electronic content, and its future is bright, the one drawback I have noted is that the process of custom development takes some getting used to. Native libraries for frameworks such as the Spring family of frameworks would go a long way to simplifying integration work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering Hyland Nuxeo: Nuxeo has a decent stand-up time. Its architecture is significantly more extensible and friendly from an integration standpoint than others we reviewed in our selection process. While Nuxeo's underlying platform is Open Source Software (OSS), and also built on predominantly OSS components allowing it to be used at minimal cost … we found that the Nuxeo Studio configuration engine rather significantly enhances the deliverability of Nuxeo based solutions. Nuxeo is a powerful open-source CMS for enterprise content management and provides tons of features. It is developer-friendly, and there are plenty of opportunities for developers to dive deeply into it and customize it. We can achieve most of the things we want through their operations chain, and we like this feature. The only part about which we don't feel good is the Nuxeo UI, as well as the Studio that comes with a subscription. To create the data types and workflows without using the Studio, Nuxeo should provide some documentation so that users who do not want to use Nuxeo Studio can benefit from it.
