textbee is an SMS gateway that runs on an Android phone you already own. You connect the phone once. Then you send and receive text messages through a REST API, the web dashboard, or Zapier, n8n and Make. Messages go out from your own number, through your own SIM. Recipients see a number they know and can reply to. Replies arrive in the dashboard and through webhooks. Pricing is a flat monthly plan with messages included. There are no per-message fees, no number rental and no carrier registration fees. The Free plan sends 300 messages a month. Pro sends 5,000 for $14.99 a month. Small businesses use textbee for appointment reminders, order updates, quote and lead follow-ups, and announcements to a congregation, club or customer list. Developers use it for one-time codes, alerts and two-way support in their apps. The whole stack is open source under the MIT license. You can self-host it or use the hosted service at textbee.dev. More than 40,000 developers and businesses use it.
