Nutanix Database Service is a Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) platform that enables teams to provision, operate, and scale databases across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments with minimal operational overhead. It supports popular SQL, NoSQL, and Vector databases that include Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL with pgvector, EDB, and MongoDB and offers full lifecycle management—including provisioning, patching, cloning, backup & recovery, high availability, and security —through a unified console or via REST APIs. NDB brings the simplicity of cloud database management to your datacenter. It is designed to give you the best of both worlds: the control and compliance of on-premises infrastructure, paired with the automation and agility of the cloud. NDB enables streamlined migration of complex databases from legacy virtualization to Nutanix, reducing the time and risk of migration while improving performance and day 2 operations of your most critical databases. Provisioning Enable one-click database server provisioning for single or high availability clusters in hybrid cloud, which reduces setup from days to minutes. Patching Automate database patches during maintenance windows to ensure consistency and minimize downtime. Migration Reduce delays and the risk of costly licensing penalties by migrating complex databases from legacy virtualization using proven tools and methodology. Storage Scaling Scale database storage online with one click to ensure high performance without complex planning. Security Enforce RBAC, encrypt data and enable secure sharing for robust cloud protection. Thin Cloning Create space-efficient clones in minutes with zero-byte snapshots to support agile development with minimal storage use. Fast Backup and Recovery Provide integrated snapshots and point-in-time recovery and tiered backups to meet RPO/RTO goals. Visit Nutanix.com/NDB to learn more.
