The edit button on top right of the screen is not very user friendly and hard to find for a newbie. **What problems is NovoEd solving and how is that benefiting you?** As a learning content creator in a learning consultant enterprise, NovoEd is one of the easiest and seamless CLMS platforms I used. In fact our customer is the one that has the license and they just gives us access to design their courses. ### 3. From an admin point of view, the flexibility of the notifications and analytics as well as the variety of assignment types available is extremely useful for managing courses and content. **What do you dislike about NovoEd?** The Learner Leaderboard is excellent but we'd really like to see a Team Leaderboard as well. Additionally, The license model is not formatted ideally for our business model, although the NovoEd people have been very good at working with us to find new solutions on that. **What problems is NovoEd solving and how is that benefiting you?** They have recently changed their UI for Admins as well as added Learning Journeys to the Learner experience which have given us new ways to look at courseware and curricula. ### 4. You can time-release material in order to offer a self-paced course. There are also a variety of ways to make the content interactive with discussions, quizzes, submission of documents, a gallery to view the work of colleagues and collaborators. The user management system is also easy to navigate if you are the administrator. **What do you dislike about NovoEd?** There is very little that I dislike about NovoEd. Sometimes figuring out where to find something is not intuitive, but I eventually find it. **What problems is NovoEd solving and how is that benefiting you?** Running self-paced courses can be hard to set up but NovoEd makes that simple with the initial setup and makes any edits that need to be updated. ### 5. You can break it up using multiple sections but those aren't true modules in an LMS. **What problems is NovoEd solving and how is that benefiting you?** NovoEd has helped us find a safe spot for learners to easily apply, collaborate, and get feedback to develop their skills. I like a lot the possibility to include various types of individual and team assignments, share peer-to-peer feedback and interact in small groups in a dedicated space. Moreover the platform is fully mobile responsive and content can be viewed on a small screen device. At NovoEd the teams are very customer oriented, listen to customer feedback and respond very fast with a solution-oriented mindset and attitude. **What do you dislike about NovoEd?** I don't find non-useful features of NovoEd platform. An area to further grow and explore is more dynamic and flexible visual design identity on lesson pages as well as more game-based or gamification elements. **What problems is NovoEd solving and how is that benefiting you?** The platform offers a great way to design and offer learning experiences, that employees can take in the flow of their work. The participants in Online NovoEd Course have the possibility to self-pace their learning within a given course and allocate time to do the respective assignments in accordance with their weekly job responsibilities. The Onboarding NovoEd courses for various functions offer a great start to new joiners with visual content, relevant activities and opportunity to interact with others. ### 14. As a new learner, I can look at the screens and pretty much know exactly what to do. Beyond that, they offer short tutorial videos and in-platform message tips in case I don't know what to do. This platform would be easy to use for employees of all ages. **What do you dislike about NovoEd?** I'll start by saying that my response is no fault of NovoEd's own. The challenge with implementing NovoEd as a learning solution is that it may be viewed by employees as ANOTHER platform they have to use / log in to. Employees in today's digital age have to manage access to so many tools and platforms already. It may feel disjointed if a company is running NovoEd as a learning solution concurrently with other learning solutions. **What problems is NovoEd solving and how is that benefiting you?** The main problem that NovoEd solves for is how to get collaborative learning in an increasingly digital world. Remote work, proliferated by the Covid-19 pandemic, has brought challenges for companies and teams to hold training programs. The benefits I've realized is that it is still possible to get collaborative learning in a digital world. It's not the same as working in-person; and I don't think it intends to imitate it. ### 17. What's more, participants can collaborate together in team workspaces, upload individual or team assignments, and receive evaluation scores and feedback from class facilitators and/or mentors. Finally we have a digital solution where participants can learn from the courseware, learn from each other, learn by doing, and learn from personalized coaching feedback...all in ONE place! **What do you dislike about NovoEd?** I found the editing tools to be a bit cumbersome during the course design phase. I spent more time than I anticipated scrolling through my lessons and opening different menu options to get my content properly formatted and functioning the way I intended. This became easier over time and the NovoEd team was able to assist with any challenges I encountered along the way. **What problems is NovoEd solving and how is that benefiting you?** NovoEd allows us to take the best elements of our classroom based ILT and deliver them through a digital environment in very effective way. Like our ILT approach, we can break our learning cohorts into smaller teams for collaboration and group assignments and showcase their individual or collective work to the entire class. Additionally, we are no longer confined to offering weeklong in-person training classes where we need to cover a lot of topics in a finite timeframe. Using NovoEd, we can now extend the training experience over multiple weeks allowing participants to learn in the flow of work while demonstrating proficiency on specific topics week after week. This shifts our training programs from event-based to an experience-based approach where participants can immediately apply what they learned, often the same day they learned it. ### 18. Bummed we can make a video to be watched as an official "assignment". I also don't like the contract scenario...if we enroll new participants, it should be a year from their first sign in, not by contract, where if you add licenses halfway through the year for new participants, they don't lose their course access in 6 months. **What problems is NovoEd solving and how is that benefiting you?** Zoom integration, but that's more on our end. Customer Success Manager really listens to users concerns and questions. **What do you dislike about NovoEd?** There are many basic features missing from NovoEd such as poll options, creating interactive activities aside from just assignments, etc. You can create these in a separate program and embed on to NovoEd, but it would be a lot easier if these were added to the tools NovoEd does use. **What problems is NovoEd solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have used NovoEd for online courses for both small cohort groups as well as the general public, and found it to be a good tool in both use cases. ### 25. We have used this two years now, and the new setup that came early this year - was just amazing. Suddenly, we could iterate and build realtime and teach others to start building in just a short few minutes. That`s incredible. **What do you dislike about NovoEd?** It could be slow to upload sometimes if you have good internet it should be fine though. I know there is a roll-out of being able to use content offline which is going to solve that problem quickly. **Recommendations to others considering NovoEd:** If they have funds, we currently have been buying bought subscriptions from a company, at a lower price - but unfortunately we will not be able to continue paying these high prices. **What problems is NovoEd solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are solving the problem of trying to convey a lot of information and learning material in a systematic way, which we can do with Novoed. Their 'assignment/task management' functionality is one of the solutions' strengths, bringing a whole other dimension to self-paced courses - which allows the learner to practise the knowledge they have gained with either peer or expert feedback. Highly recommend this platform to any company that needs to build capabilities (knowledge, skills or behaviours) in individuals sitting across many geographies and/or with individuals that want to learn with others, but at their own pace! The staff is incredibly warm and helpful (especially Rebecca!) and responsive to our needs or questions that arise. Many of the recent updates have made NovoEd much easier to use from a course-building standpoint. **What do you dislike about NovoEd?** Some features can be a bit clunky, such as the data downloads making it difficult to quickly access info while staying in NovoEd, but it's not a huge hassle. The flexibility in design is a true standout from their competitors! Additionally the feature-sets are the most comprehensive allowing us to create a diversity of experiences in our learning program. **What do you dislike about NovoEd?** NovoEd is still rapidly growing and so global infrastructure is still maturing - language pack, 24-7 global support, etc. **What problems is NovoEd solving and how is that benefiting you?** NovoEd has provided us a platform to reinvent our traditional classroom learning approach into an interactive, scalable and highly engaging learning experience. The benefit has been tremendous - most notably working on the development of complex skills with our sales and service distributed workforce in a highly interactive and practice oriented way and VIRTUALLY. Huge cost savings and higher skill attainment achieved than a traditional classroom "event". ### 31. I love how easy it is to create a new course (once you get the language down of how the system works), particularly being able to copy lessons/lesson content, easily move lessons around, embed different forms of content (e.g. videos, Google files, pdf's, etc), and the ease of using the platform among learners and admins/teachers. **What do you dislike about NovoEd?** I wish there were more templates available and options to further customize parts of courses (e.g. being able to edit the colors and fonts used in the titles of lessons beyond what can be done now). It would be great to have actual templates of example courses customers can use to get started with a course. I ran into challenges with formatting, especially using the quiz/assignments feature where I couldn't bold or italicize fonts without doing it manually via HTML. I also was confused about the role of our account manager and why she would go MIA for periods at a time (several weeks at least) and be unresponsive to emails leading me and my colleague to rely on your support team for assistance (who have been great). Furthermore, just a few weeks ago our account manager emailed us that she was leaving NovoEd and that was her last day providing no new contact to connect with...I still never finished all of the onboarding meetings (or whatever they're called) to finish designing and launching my first course, I was waiting to hear back from her about scheduling before getting the email from her about leaving. I think more clarity around the role of account managers would be useful. **What problems is NovoEd solving and how is that benefiting you?** Having a more robust training course for our new volunteers really helps create a more comprehensive volunteer experience and have improved our retention rates by providing clarity around the responsibilities and expectations of our volunteers in a fun and interactive way. ### 32. They take care of their customers. I also love the platform itself. The UI and UX are great, and the social layer adds something special. Students are able to form crews, review each others' work, and chat with each other. **What do you dislike about NovoEd?** The only downside to using NovoEd is that it is not very admin friendly. It takes a very long time to set up a program because there is not a way to bulk upload content. And there is also not a way to bulk un-enroll students. **What problems is NovoEd solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have created an online program where students can be social with each other. ### 33. There are quite a lot of features built out, especially around social interactions on the learning platform. **What do you dislike about NovoEd?** There seems to be a gap between their customer success team and their engineering team, where sometimes bugs take quite a while to get fixed and there is miscommunication around the functionality of the platform. **What problems is NovoEd solving and how is that benefiting you?** NovoEd has allowed us to create rich learning experiences with peer to peer engagement. ### 34. Also, not being able to have programmed group discussions is a pity. **What problems is NovoEd solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm tranfering a course from another platform and i like very much the way novoed platforms shows the progress of the learner and the lean layout. ### 35. Also, quite a bit of turnover in the support role, although handovers have been pretty smooth. **What problems is NovoEd solving and how is that benefiting you?** How can we make learning be engaging and seemingly personal without having the numbers to deliver a truly personal experience? The platform is easy to understand, navigate - some earlier UX issues have been resolve favorably. Novoed continues to improve and I recommend it! ### 36.
