I like the forms module in Novara Flex. We've built out forms for incident reporting, good catch/near miss reporting, safety observations, safety audits, and jobsite safety analysis (JSA). We're also starting to create strategic safety planning tools for our field supervisors and project managers. Being able to build tools within Novara Flex that make safety easier for folks is key. The app/website often load slowly, which causes frustration for users and adds unnecessary friction when we are trying to use this tool to make safety MORE accessible. There are also some ongoing connectivity challenges, particularly in remote areas or locations without cell coverage. This is a significant issue for our employees working on rural jobsites or on new construction where internet access is limited or unavailable. On the admin side, the platform allows some basic customization but the overlap with reporting capabilities is pretty limited, so we frequently have to pull data into other tools (Excel, Power BI) to be able to do meaningful analysis. For example, we have the ability to add important employee data to their profiles, such as their recent project manager, but we're not able to include those data points in all reporting. This results in our team needing to merge multiple sources of data. Additional flexibility in appearance and layout would also be valuable. For example, more control over charts, font colors, and form fields would improve usability and consistency. The platform is missing some well-established UI design practices that would improve usability. For example, when a required field on a form is missed, the form can't be submitted, but the error message appears in a low-contrast red text that is difficult to see. I love the mobile aspect of Novara Flex. I've used other products that claimed to be mobile-friendly, but Novara Flex truly is. It's also customizable, allowing us to edit an out-of-the-box software to fit our needs without having to pay for additional customization. With a fleet of 1000 remote workers visiting job sites daily, it's invaluable for ensuring they have their credentials accessible via the app. If a safety incident occurs, it can be captured and shared immediately. I think Novara Flex could improve with better dashboard widgets and a wider variety of safety metrics and stats to report, like days since the last OSHA case or first aid rates. A trailing 12-month TRIR would be nice too. I also find it annoying that when assigning a course, it defaults to send to everyone instead of no one, which seems like a small thing that could be fixed with development. Another issue is there's no forms search function on the App even though it's available on the desktop version. Lastly, an integration with 3rd party qualifiers like Avetta and ISNet would be nice. The system is very easy to use with a simple interface, but can also be pretty customizable at the same time. Training and form reports are just a couple clicks away, or you can create a widget on your dashboard to see what you need the second you log in. If you need any help, customer support or your Client Success Manager will definitely be able to assist you. Novara is an easy-to-use application for end users. It does require some initial setup, but once everything is in place, it’s very straightforward to use and helps streamline manual entry for tasks like incident investigations that might otherwise take hours to type up on a computer. With the app, you can enter information and add photos directly into the investigation form while you’re out gathering the data, which makes the process feel much more efficient. Flex makes it easy to keep track of compliance, training, and employee engagement as our company constantly grows and changes. Every employee uses Flex every day, whether from their phone or computer. It's especially helpful when our employees are out in the field and don't have access to cell service or wifi.
