I use Notepad++ almost every day because it’s simple, fast, and just easy to work with. It opens files quickly and handles different types of files without any hassle, whether it’s scripts, logs, or basic configs. I like that I can keep multiple files open in tabs and switch between them easily. Features like find and replace or quick search save a lot of time, especially when I’m working with large amounts of data. Overall, it’s straightforward and gets the job done without any complexity. Also, many useful features depend on plugins instead of being built in. For example, having an option to compare two files directly within the tool would make it much more convenient. I originally downloaded Notepad++ because the regular Windows Notepad struggled with larger text files. What surprised me was how quickly it opened everything. After that I started using it for all kinds of things, not only text notes but also CSV files, exported reports and configuration files. The best part is that it stays simple. It starts almost instantly, doesn't feel heavy and lets me find what I need without extra clicks. It became one of those tools that quietly stays on every computer because it is useful so often. It works well, but visually it feels like a tool from another era. One thing I don’t like about Notepad++ is that its interface feels a bit outdated compared with more modern editors. It also doesn’t include some of the more advanced features and seamless integrations that newer IDEs or editors offer. I use Notepad++ for writing my PHP code, and it really helps me find syntax errors, like missing brackets, by providing proper indications and keyword highlights. One feature I particularly like is being able to paste any code into a file, select the language, and have it automatically format the code properly. I also appreciate that it saves files even if my PC shuts down unexpectedly. The installation is very easy and user-friendly, making it accessible even to beginners.
