It is a simple-to-use text/code editor which is open source. The updates process is very outdated in Notepad++, i.e. you need to do a fresh installation to overwrite the existing application. Along with that, there isn't the folder view for the whole project. It is perfect for loading one file for some quick edits quickly. It also helps to make notes. The good thing is that it allows opening multiple tabs simultaneously. Also, find and replace all works pretty well, especially when you want to replace using extended mode (using tab characters or new line) or using regular expressions. The best thing about Notepad++ is its versatility to edit almost any editable text file. Also, the good thing about it is that is is fully open source and free to use. One of them is its interface. I don't like its UI because after being used to the very simple and clean interface of Notepad, the complex interface of Notepad++ confuses me sometimes. I like how notepad has evolved into better Notepad++. There are more new features added. One can change the theme, even add different colors for different things like highlight, braces, keywords, etc. I used Notepad++ to take notes quickly and store important information. The best thing about notepad++ is that it keeps the data even if we don't save the file. That is, if we take any notes in notepad++ and don't save it, then next time when you reopen your notepad++, you will find all your information intact. This persistent data storage is what I like the most about notepad++, and that's why even without saving my confidential data, I can still keep it in notepad++.
