"Lightweight, Fast, and Feature-Rich Text Editor"
What do you like best about Notepad++?

Notepad++ is lightweight, fast, and very easy to use. It offers powerful features such as find and replace, code folding, and multi-section editing, all of which make working with text more efficient. The plug-in ecosystem also adds significant value. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Notepad++?

The interface feels outdated when compared to more modern editors. Additionally, it is only available for Windows, which means there is no native support for macOS or Linux. I have also noticed that working with large files can sometimes cause the performance to slow down. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

    "Notepad++"
What do you like best about Notepad++?

    1) Lightweight & Fast – Opens quickly and runs smoothly even on low-end machines.

    2) Free & Open Source – No cost, with an active community maintaining plugins and updates.

    3) Low Resource Usage – Uses minimal CPU and memory compared to heavier IDEs.

    4) Extensive Plugin Support – Lots of community plugins for extra functionality (FTP, compare, linting, etc.).

    5) Syntax Highlighting – Supports highlighting for many programming languages.

    6) Customizable – Themes, macros, keyboard shortcuts, and plugin manager allow flexibility.

    7) Portable Version Available – Can run without installation, useful for USB or temporary setups. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Notepad++?

    1) Windows-Only – No official support for macOS or Linux.

    2) Basic Debugging & Intellisense – Lacks advanced features like intelligent code completion, integrated debugger, and AI-assisted tools.

    3) Not a Full IDE – More of a text editor than a true development environment.

    4) UI Feels Outdated – Interface is simple but looks older compared to modern editors.

    5) Scaling Issues – Can struggle with very large files or projects compared to VS Code.

    6) Less Collaboration Support – No built-in Git integration, live share, or modern team workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
