## Nira Reviews
  ### 1. The fastest tool out there

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron Z. | Director of IT, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Nira?**

I've used a half dozen Google Drive file monitoring tools from Palo Alto Networks to Aperture, building custom tools internally based off the action log. None of them work nearly as fast as Nira. When you have hundreds of thousands of items, having a tool built for search is key. Nothing else on the market works like it.

Their UI is easy to understand, it puts easy controls in the hands of your users too to help them self-manage their own data. Often when we have to use tools like Nira it's in an emergency, so having coherent, easy to understand UI and UX is crucial to keeping calm under pressure.

A few months ago, my head of compliance was alerted to some google forms that had their results publicly shared. He asked if I could help find any other forms like that, and if there was any way to prevent it from happening again. On the same call, in less than 10 minutes we had found all the existing forms, remediated them, and created a new policy in nira to prevent any future user from making the same mistake.

The CS group at Nira is excellent, they're easy to connect with, and even when they don't have a solution they're quick to give you as much help as they can.

**What do you dislike about Nira?**

MAny of their competitors also do full document search, this isn't yet a feature

**What problems is Nira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nira helps us keep the files we don't want shared locked down, as well as helping us maintain our 10 years of drive data. No easy task.

  ### 2. Best in the industry

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arodi C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Nira?**

Do you like to make your life easier? Then get this tool, there's nothing more frustrating than runaway items being shared left and right by company employees who sometimes just don't know better. This is the perfect tool to get it all under control.

The implementation/integration was so short and sweet, that it's like flipping a switch.

Their customer support is top-notch, and the representatives are always following up to ensure customer success.

It pretty much runs on its own, we basically use it daily 24/7 without having to think about it.

**What do you dislike about Nira?**

Nothing, I have not had any scenario that has made me dislike it in any way

**What problems is Nira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

File security is the biggest one, we use Google Workspace and have some tight rules but it isn't enough to prevent certain sharing at times.

We also heavily rely on it to turn off access for items our legal department has to share with third parties.

The automation when it comes to both these major tasks is the biggest seller for me.

  ### 3. Google Drive Access Control At Its Finest

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan G. | Independent IT Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Nira?**

With Nira we have the ability to see who has access to any files in the environment and control that access. Gives us the ability to see a wholistic picture in a GUI. Not only does it provide the visablity but also provides us the ability to control those documents in mass or on an individual basis. The search functionaility to be able to find a document is better than anything that I have seen in a while. Also provides out of the box policies to see whats going on in the envorionment. The best example I can give of this that comes to mind is seeing what is publically shared and has a sensitive tag in the title of the document.

**What do you dislike about Nira?**

I try to think of a dislike but when I hit one its not because of Nira but because of Google's lack of API support for something.

**What problems is Nira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nira is solving an issue that every Google Workspace Admin has and that is access control for documents that are not only in shared drives but also in My Drives. This product allows us to see whats going on with everything and change the access accordingly. It also assists in the offboarding of users by being able to transfer ownership of all documents or just give access to another user of those docs owned by the offboarded user. Also gives us the ability to search generically the name of that offboarded person to see if any personal accounts show up with access to documents in the environment to remove their access.

  ### 4. We are impressed with Nira's capabilities

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Artūras K. | Security Engineer , Computer & Network Security, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Nira?**

I am now able to align file access with the company's document retention policy effectively. This process is executed seamlessly in the background, managing thousands of files with precision. I extend my gratitude to the sales team and our success manager for their exceptional support. Engaging in discussions with these professionals is consistently a rewarding experience. Integration is also pretty much seamless.

**What do you dislike about Nira?**

I recommend enhancing the documentation and simplifying the user interface and user experience. Furthermore, I posit that the utility of Nira could be significantly increased through the implementation of a feature that allows for the reverting of changes. However, I suppose that this enhancement may present considerable challenges to execute.

**What problems is Nira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are basically reorganising access to millions of files within our organisational Google Drive cloud.

  ### 5. Gain essential visibility of Google Drive file access and the ability to prune at scale

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sebastien J. | Chief Security Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Nira?**

The ability to gain detailed insights into the state of Google Drive file access permissions, which users have access to them, and what actions they may have taken is essential in a cloud-native environment where your document are one-click away from being public. You can then manage file access sprawl manually or using automations.

Users can also log in to Nira to easily view/audit file access permissions on files they own.

**What do you dislike about Nira?**

There are currently still some important limitations (currently due to limiations on the side of Google's API), such as the inability to modify permissions to files owned by deactivated users. Administrator roles are god-like, meaning you can't delegate admin access for a subset of documents/drives, or Nira functionality. As a result, due to the sensitivity of information, Nira is not something you can yet easily delegate within a team.

**What problems is Nira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Auditing file access and pruning this on an ongoing (and automated) basis, allows us to significantly reduce the risk of unauthorised data access.

  ### 6. An invaluable tool for data security

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Nira?**

Nira makes identifying and troubleshooting security/permissioning gaps in our google workspace as easy as a few clicks. I've been able to manage multiple high-level down-boardings without complete account deletion of personnel who had access to tens of thousands of documents and folders. With Nira we were able to scale back their access with ease and full visibility/traceability. It also made the handling of any unforeseen issues, like other people unexpectedly losing access to vital files/folders, seamless to correct.

**What do you dislike about Nira?**

Nothing of note that I'd say I dislike. Occassionally when actions error out it can be difficult to troubleshoot exactly why they failed, but usually it is due to hierarchical permissions in Google.

**What problems is Nira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used to be completely in the dark with how over-permissioned our company google drive was and Nira has completely changed that. We have full visibility now into with whom and how much have our files and foldrs been over-shared and can take quick action to rectify.

  ### 7. Great tool for a very painful problem

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marcos C. | Co-founder, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Nira?**

We have 498.000 files in Google Drive, it's a daunting task to keep track of everything that's been created and shared by our team. This file count only grows by the day alongside with my anxiety :)

Since we started using Nira I feel a lot better, it gave us a very quick way to create an inventory of these files and make sure the right people have access to them.

We integrated Nira into our onboarding/offboarding flows for employees and customer accounts and it allowed us to ensure that all the information has the right level of access and security.

Love this product.

**What do you dislike about Nira?**

I don't really dislike anything. It would be great if there was even more automation of workflows, but what we've already got is infinitely better than our previous solutions.

**What problems is Nira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have large amounts of files in Google Drive that create a large surface area for information to escape our network. Nira helps us keep track of that and ensure we are protecting our IP and data.

  ### 8. The visibility is eye opening

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Glenn V. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Nira?**

Nira provided visibility into our productivity platform that we haven't had in years and it was eye opening to see what risks were right under our nose. Nira's ability to also take immediate action with little to no end user impact meant one less thing to lose sleep about.

**What do you dislike about Nira?**

Some features might not yet be available, but the customer ops and leadership team has been extremely transparent with their roadmap, and their willingness to re-prioritize based on customer needs.

**What problems is Nira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There was a lack of visibility in document exposure to external facing contacts, as well as document retention and Nira helped us identify those gaps and allowed us to take immediate action, as well as action moving forward.

  ### 9. Essential Insight into Google Permissions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rob P. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Nira?**

It is amazing how much I didn't know about the sharing habits of my users. Nira gives you immediate and essential insight into who has access to the companies assets on Google Drive. The most helpful part of Nira are the pre-built filters such as "Outside Access" for non-domain users and "Personal Access" for Gmail and Yahoo accounts, etc. It also does an incredibly accurate job of matching a company email to a personal email to see if employees are sharing docs to their personal accounts. This tool is indispensable for offboarding.

**What do you dislike about Nira?**

The volume of options provided in the menu is a bit overwhelming. Even once I found something, I rarely could recreate it. They do provide the ability to save those searches but a "Basic" and "Advanced" menu might be more helpful.

**What problems is Nira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nira is helping us improve our DLP posture and ensure offboarding is done well.

  ### 10. Nira has provided critical visibility previously unavailable to Google admins

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Nira?**

Nira integrates seamlessly into your environment and within minutes, admins can gain important metrics and insights into their corporate documents. And the ability to take bulk actions on all documents within an organization to properly secure and protect them is a must have for any IT or Security professional.

**What do you dislike about Nira?**

The UI is quite powerful, and as such there are a lot of actions and filters available. One area for improvement, especially for new customers might be to have some pre-built actions and workflows that admins can quickly select and run.

**What problems is Nira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nira allows IT admins to properly secure their Drive documents and gain visibility into the risk exposure file sharing, public links, and personal accounts. The ability to see how many files have been shared externally for how long and by whom is critical to securing company assets and potentially customer data.

  ### 11. Nira helps you ensure the confidentiality of your company's most valuable asset (Data)

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marco V. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Nira?**

The visibility of the company's data and how is it being shared with others. You can't protect what you can't see, and Nira also has very helpful actions so that you can ensure that you company's condifential data stays confidential.
Also, I love how they will have recurrent meetings with you to assist with any needs that may arise.

**What do you dislike about Nira?**

The reporting feature needs enhancements, such as the option to send the reports via email as a PDF so that you can keep track of the statistics over the time.
Also, the error messages displayed when an action over an item (file) fails could be improved, it's sometimes hard to understand why did it fail.

**What problems is Nira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sharing my company's data with more people than required, and/or mantaining unnecessary access to my company's data from old activities.

  ### 12. Very Solid Addition to Security Suite

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael d. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Nira?**

Nira leverages Google APIs in a unique way, and provides very power and easy-to-use insights into how our data is being stored, shared, and manipulated throughout the company.
Customer support has been one of the most responsive of all of the vendors I work with.

**What do you dislike about Nira?**

There aren't many down sides. Nira has its own "Nira administrator" access control, and it is not integrated with our SSO/identity management. This is a slight load on our onboarding/offboarding procedures for the IT team itself, but again this is a minor issue.

**What problems is Nira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nira gives is very powerful and unique insights into our information security and threat vector landscape. We have many hundreds of thousands of documents with quite complicated sharing schemes, and Nira is far better than Google itself at helping us document and manage our access control.

  ### 13. Amazing visibility and management for Google Drive!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Nira?**

Nira makes it incredibly easy to see Google Drive documents within our organization at a glance. It's very simple to enforce policies that ensure our data is protected across the board. Nira's been a huge help for our offboarding process, allowing us to remove all Drive access with just a few clicks.

**What do you dislike about Nira?**

The interface can feel a bit overwhelming at a glance, mainly due to the number of filtering options available, but you'll understand how powerful the tool is as you continue to use it more and more!

**What problems is Nira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nira simplifies our offboarding process and improves our security posture by being able to better control documents via policies enforced on documents shared externally from the organization as well as older stale documents that should no longer be accessed.

  ### 14. The solution for managing Google Drive permissions

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rick M. | IT Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Nira?**

The speed that a single person can manage thousands of files.

**What do you dislike about Nira?**

While the application is straight forward, Google's own permissions can sometimes provide a lack of clarity as to how documents may react.

**What problems is Nira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing file permissions within Google Drive is cumbersome. The tools Google provide are severly lacking and other tools, such as GAM, take a long time to setup and implement. Nira's set up is quick and allows a Admin to get up and running efficiently and effectively in no time. Automating some of the process of file management allows for other areas to be explored, such as compliance and data loss protection. Additionally, an Admin can prompt users to review the permissions on their own files, saving time in the long run.

  ### 15. Have Google Workspace? Then you need Nira!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Colin M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Nira?**

The depth of information and discovery available on how your Google Drive data is being shared and accessed. Also gives you insight into who your users are collaborating with and highlights potential external data leak risks.

**What do you dislike about Nira?**

There is nothing negative to dislike about Nira.

**What problems is Nira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had another SaaS Management Platform tool that could did not give us visibility into Google Shared Drive files. This was vital for our business so we turned to Nira for all our Google Drive security needs.

Using Nira we discovered potential security risks and could easily automate remediating them. The depth of reporting and discovery was far deeper than any other platform and gave us the confidence and tools we needed to secure our Google Drive data.

  ### 16. Compliment your security program with Nira

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jane P. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Nira?**

What I like best about Nira is getting the chance to see the file lifecylce and leveraging it for insider threat and also mitigating data exfiltration.

**What do you dislike about Nira?**

I believe the level of visibility could be improved. From an insider threat perspective, I would like to have visibility into documents and also see files from all drives. This includes not only Google, but files uploaded to certain sites and downloaded from certain senstivie systems.

**What problems is Nira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is assiting with mitigating data exfiltration.

  ### 17. Great solution for managing rogue shares

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Nira?**

Nira provided a very easy to use solution to identify and manage insecure sharing of documents stored on Google Drive. Intuitive GUI makes it easy to search, identify, and manage permission settings for managing uninteded or overexposed files. Setup was easy and in just few days, it allowed remediation of such shares to lock down the company's IPs in a jiffy!

**What do you dislike about Nira?**

Nira's limitation is mostly tied to Google Workspace API's own limitation

**What problems is Nira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Over the period of 5 years since the business started, the company fell into the usual trap of insufficiently managing data shared with the rest of the Internet because Google Drive made it so easy to share such documents. There were hundreds of thousands of files being shared, some owned by former employees who were no longer with the company. Nira helped identify and track down such shares. All in all, in just few months, a single administrator was able to lock down majority of the files, as well as identify the business process gaps that created the situation in the first place. Nira made ithe process simple and using the intuitive GUI, these issues were rectified and even helped establishing new business process to allow department managers to rein in the controls to manage permission lockdown.

Nira's support team worked side by side through the ordeal and they were quick to develop new features based on our functional and technical requirements.
Big 2 thumbs up to the company and its' leadership!

  ### 18. Off-boarding made thanks to Nira

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Nira?**

Nira's offering should really be part of Google Drive. It consolidates and centralizes all of the information regarding how you are sharing your files in Drive. It makes it easy to control access to each document and to control access privileges of a given person. It has really made our off-boarding process for people and contractors much more secure, as we ensure those leaving our organization no longer have access to our files.

**What do you dislike about Nira?**

As with anything that centralizes and consolidates information, there's always the risk that it will fall in the hands of the wrong person. It also presented us with a challenge from the point of view of the organization, as we did not want a senior person investing the time in the logistics of using Nira but you also do not want to give access to a junior person. Also, understanding Nira's interface might take some time.

**What problems is Nira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have all our files in Google Drive, which we use to collaborate both internally and externally. When off-boarding a member of our internal team or a contractor, we use Nira to make sure that all of their access to our files is severed.

  ### 19. Great tool for monitoring and policing Google Drive

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Nira?**

The reports are really good and very actionable.
We also find the slack alerts very useful.
The best thing about Nira is that it is very intuitive and the search functions are very good.
We really like the support we get, the templates for user communications are very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Nira?**

That it is a very powerfull tool and we are not yet using it to it's full potential.

**What problems is Nira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Identifying how information is being shared on our Google Drive environment.
We now have visibility of public links and this can be sorted out with one click.
Managing a big volume of documents on Google drive is much easier using Nira.

  ### 20. Great Product to

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric L. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Nira?**

Nira was simple and easy to setup. Support for the product has been nothing but spectacular. IT professionals can easily remeditate security risks with a click.

**What do you dislike about Nira?**

I'd like to see reports shown in graphs that make it easier to understand what actions were taken etc by any given date.

**What problems is Nira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unrestricted file access increases the likelihood of data leakage. Allowing unrestricted acces means that anyone, including malicious actors, can potentially access and manupulate sensitive files.
Nira solves this issue by seeing where there may be potential areas of compromise and fills them.

  ### 21. Taking Google Security to the Next level

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thiago B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Nira?**

Nira is a friendly audit/action tool to address security gaps encountered on Google Drive and Shared Drives.

We integrated within minutes and could take action and configure security rules on the first day.

The support was incredible, with an account manager meeting with us every week.

The visibility that the tool provides is incredible.

**What do you dislike about Nira?**

We would love to see more features on the platform. The Nira team is always releasing new features and constantly improving the tool.

**What problems is Nira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No need to use GAM and helped us secure our shared files

  ### 22. Excellent Resource

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Nira?**

Nira provides a consolidated view into managing your DLP and access programs. Integration is quick and straightforward, and it is easy to apply rules in bulk and manage access to your information across your entire environment, which reduces the time to investigate or remediate. You are able to see at a glance (and with alerts) the status of any piece of information you manage both internally and externally.

**What do you dislike about Nira?**

No issues at this time - the team is very responsive when questions/issues arise.

**What problems is Nira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Single pane of glass which makes access management quick and straightforward - we are able to tell at a glance what to focus in on and where we need to dig farther to understand where information/data is flowing both internally or externally.

  ### 23. Fills an important gap in the security of Google Workspace

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Nira?**

Visibility of file sharing across corporate Google Workspace and ability to make changes direct from the Nira interface

**What do you dislike about Nira?**

There are some things I can't change (because of Google constraints, eg. files owned by accounts no longer active) - I would love a way to identify these and remove them from my Nira view so I can focus on the things I can fix.

**What problems is Nira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Potential exposure of data through public links or sharing files more widely than necessary

  ### 24. Valuable Tool for Google Workspace Admins

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Doug C. | Director of IT and Security Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Nira?**

We lacked the means to efficiently identify and eliminate files not in compliance with our data protection standards. Nira not only filled this crucial gap but offered many additional features. It became an invaluable asset in safeguarding our data. Nira's exceptional support was instrumental; they promptly addressed all our inquiries, ensuring a seamless experience and usage.

**What do you dislike about Nira?**

If Google fixed the issues with tags on files, that would make Nira an even better tool.

**What problems is Nira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Open file sharing and data control.

  ### 25. some rough edges at first, but now smooth sailing.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2024

**What do you like best about Nira?**

visiblity on files. granularity.

lots of options to address issues, change permissions, slack integration for assignments. filtering is very very good.

very well made tool and UI.

**What do you dislike about Nira?**

stuff locked behind configuration on provider's backend.

time it takes for the info to be refreshed/updated in the console. (limited by Google's API it seems)

**What problems is Nira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

access logs to files, auditing security, addressing problematic behaviors.

  ### 26. Great tool to aid in our migration project

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Nira?**

Easy to use interface. Feature rich. Great technical support. I really like the tips that guide you on common areas to focus on to close gaps in file/folder security.

**What do you dislike about Nira?**

The inability to traverse folder structures. This may be a limitation with the Google API.

**What problems is Nira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nira allows is to see where our gaps are with shared files and folders. We then can take action in or out of the Nira app to remediate the gaps.

  ### 27. Great Visibility

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rob G. | Head of IT, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Nira?**

Simplicity of implementation and use for a small team with a disparate, remote work force. The clear visibility into the drive environment and the policy controls to support the requirements for data clarity, control, and access restrictions.

**What do you dislike about Nira?**

Not a lot - simple product and works well.

**What problems is Nira solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With hundreds of thousands of documents and a historical laissez faire approach to document management, there was a distinct need for visibility and control from a macro level.
