## Nintex Reviews
  ### 1. NIntex, Workflows and Forms... oh My

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Greg H. | VP - Product Management, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2016

**What do you like best about Nintex?**

It is really easy to use. It is also really easy to mess things up on a bigger install.

This I think has more to do with sharepoint and understanding the underpinnings of how sharepoint works and how you need to operate it. Once you have that, I think Nintex rocks.

It makes it incredibly easy to collect and process data and takes care a lot of teh technical implementation that you would have to do to connect to a number of systems.

**What do you dislike about Nintex?**

How easy it is :)

Again you do need to know sharepoint to get the most out of Nintex. When something goes wrong in prod it can be a beast to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it.

**Recommendations to others considering Nintex:**

Make sure you have Sharepoint knowledge in house!

**What problems is Nintex solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Business process automation and assignment of tasks between the field and the shared service centre

Ability to quickly prototype a process and try it out and iterate using some BA and operations types folks, then engage the dev staff once the business process is nailed.

Able to track and watch work as it moves through the Service centre

  ### 2. A mixed bag of amazing features and limitations on the O365 platform

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathan W. | Application Developer, Wine and Spirits, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2016

**What do you like best about Nintex?**

Would you like to design and publish a simple form and workflow in minutes? This product does that with ease. Learning the basics is quite easy. In your first session you should have no difficulty putting together a simple form (the time off request or expense approval are common examples) and showing it off to colleagues. Need to add in complex business requirements? It'll take longer to figure out, but the platform does provide some great features to help you get where you need to go. There are exceptions to this, however (see my comments below). Overall, I'm able to find solutions to 90% of my requirements with out-of-the-box Nintex.

The support team is solid--if a bit slow to respond. My company pays for Premium Support, which promises an 8 hour response time. They meet this by sending you an email acknowledging the request and stating that the issue has been passed to an engineer. I've found that the engineer will take anywhere from a few hours to a few days to get back to you. Overall, I've been satisfied with the overall expertise and professionalism. I would recommend paying the extra for the support--if you use the product a lot, it'll save your power users and developers many hours by being to ask a question instead of attempting to solve it through trial and error or by searching Nintex Community.

**What do you dislike about Nintex?**

You are confined by the product's limitations--especially on the O365 platform. You'll want to meet a business requirement for the workflow and turn to google searches to find the solution, only to discover that the Nintex platform doesn't support it on the O365 platform. Often, the feature is supported in Nintex for SharePoint on-prem, but that doesn't help those of us working in the Cloud. There is also no obvious roadmap for O365 enhancements and feature releases have been very slow in the past 12 months. As a workflow builder, you quickly learn to abandon pushing for solutions to what does work and instead focus on different ways to accomplish the same business requirements--it's just a much better use of your time.

Lots of platform limitations can be solved with Javascript and CSS (which the platform allows), but these solutions steer the product away from the power user and toward a developer. If you've purchased this product to get away from paying a developer to do this work, this may catch you by surprise. Other issues can't be solved at all. One of the bigger limitations with the O365 platform is building workflows with conditional or timed starts--these features are simply not yet available on the O365 platform. I've found that our developers solve many of these problems by writing specific workflows in native SharePoint, which is great but really diminishes the value of purchasing Nintex in the first place.

Finally, there are warning signs that come with any app build on O365 SharePoint. First, if you end your relationship with Nintex, your workflows stop working. Second, Nintex support doesn't have much visibility into the O365 back-end. I've been told by multiple support engineers that they simply can't see what's going wrong in many occasions like the could in on-prem; MS doesn't make the logs available.

I could go on, but as you can see from my rating of 7 I'd still recommend this product to those who feel it meets their business requirements.

**Recommendations to others considering Nintex:**

Prior to purchase, I'd really formalize requirements and establish ROI on the purchase. Don't buy it to be your one-stop-shop solution for everything, because there's a pretty good chance it won't be. With that said, if you have good ROI for building out forms and workflows that are easily done by Nintex, I believe it's a good purchase. Just go in knowing that if you're an O365 customer that you'll have to remain a Nintex customer for the lifetime of your workflows.

**What problems is Nintex solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mostly Forms and Workflows for regular business processes. For example, a user submits a form with information, which is then circulated through a series of approvers. Once the approvals are complete, the Form serves as a historical reference of both the information contained in the form and the documentation of approvals for future audits.

Some aspects of the interface are harder to customise for specific implementations, e.g. modifying the help hover text

A lack of process documentation, which has been improved by providing an easy to use platform for mapping.

  ### 14. Nintex Workflow - Self Taught

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joanne M. | Technical Analyst, Mining & Metals, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2016

**What do you like best about Nintex?**

I like the variation in functionality. From writing to a SharePoint list to writing to a database. We are also big users of the Mobile App, which for the most part works very well in the field.

**What do you dislike about Nintex?**

I dislike building forms and workflows online. This is extremely slow, particularly to save or publish. Even to open a control takes time. Also, this might be more a SharePoint issue than a Nintex issue, however I would like to have some kind of reporting facility for the data captured.

**What problems is Nintex solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using the mobile form to carry out safety and equipment inspections at mine sites. The benefits of this are no paper, no lost inspections, easy approvals, easily audited data,

  ### 16. Nixtex in O365

**What do you dislike about Nintex?**

Lack of features compared to on premise like no scheduling workflows

**What problems is Nintex solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A wide range from document management to reporting

  ### 17. When 10 hours became 4

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2016

**What do you like best about Nintex?**

I particularly enjoyed the ease of use of the product. It allows me to lessen my development time and create forms and work flows with minimum programming in a shorter period of time than I did in the past.
The Nintex actions that come prepackaged make a lot of tasks easier and faster.

**What do you dislike about Nintex?**

I ran into issues with Nintex where it produced errors and there was no clear determination as to whether the errors I encountered were Nintex errors or Sharepoint errors. I would have liked the error notification system to be more detailed and provide more guidance for solving errors

**Recommendations to others considering Nintex:**

Its great for RAD and can be used pretty soon after training. It is quite intuitive and will be perfect in an environment where there are few developers but lots of projects to be done.
I would recommend ensuring that you stay up to date with the latest version of the product on all platforms (Development, Test, Live)
And ensure consistency with the versions across platforms as well.

**What problems is Nintex solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were solving the problem of needing some tasks carried out in a linear manner across various departments within the organization. One of the greatest benefits we realized was the diminished development time , yet still having the complexity we would have had if we had custom built the application.

  ### 18. Email approvals through office 365 SharePoint

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mangesh G. | Sr. Developer / Business Analyst, Apparel & Fashion, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2016

**What do you like best about Nintex?**

the interface was very easy to work with and it cut down the development efforts significantly. compared to other products it was very stable ( as far as plugins to office 365 are considered). The Nintex team supported on time through the development process.

**What do you dislike about Nintex?**

At that time ( 8 months back) it did not have the feature to send emails to the external domains. it worked only within the company domain. Notifying suppliers was the biggest requirement for the application and as such we had to move to alternate solutions.

**What problems is Nintex solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to replace a manual tracking process with workflow based one. this reduced the redundancy in updating multiple places for the same approval and also notified all concerned people as soon as the approval/ rejection decision is made.

this saved substantial efforts in digging through the approval emails to update the ERP system (Oracle EBS).

  ### 19. Promapp review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2017

**What do you like best about Nintex?**

How easy it is to crest diagrams and add metadata to each activity

**What do you dislike about Nintex?**

Navigation of all of the folders. But I think it is the way our folder structure is set up versus the application.

**What problems is Nintex solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Optimizing financial processes.
The ability to reuse processes instead of starting from scratch.

  ### 20. New Promapp Champion

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2017

**What do you like best about Nintex?**

Freedom for the users and abilty for them to engage with feedback

**What do you dislike about Nintex?**

Sometimes Hard to navigate when getting used to structure

**Recommendations to others considering Nintex:**

Have a go in test environment and see what your users think

**What problems is Nintex solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Standardisation

  ### 21. Easy way to create fast and easy workflows

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2016

**What do you like best about Nintex?**

I LOVE the copy and paste feature. I also love the disable feature. This makes creating production workflows easy to create and modify.

**What do you dislike about Nintex?**

Unfortunately I've had issues with using my own custom web services with Nintex. I also dislike how I've created workflows that use tons of columns and it will fail due to a data type issue, but its hard to pinpoint the column.

**Recommendations to others considering Nintex:**

None really - can be used by people on different technical levels.

**What problems is Nintex solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Nintex to create production workflows and even use it internally for our support system. We love that anyone in our company that needs to look at the workflow can understand it - you don't have to be a developer and read lines of code.

  ### 22. Great visual experience for workflow creation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Policy | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2016

**What do you like best about Nintex?**

I like the visual side of the workflow creation, it makes it easier to create, understand, and visualize the process as a whole.

**What do you dislike about Nintex?**

The only thing I dislike is it forces me to think about workflows a different way than using SharePoint designer. It's definitely not a "bad" thing per say, just something you have to get used to doing, its change!

**Recommendations to others considering Nintex:**

It is an expensive platform considering SharePoint Designer is free but its worth it to help users create awesome workflows to help in your business processes.

**What problems is Nintex solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automatic notifications have been wonderful for our internal process and even external use. The benefits are that its easier to teach someone how to create a workflow with this software not like SP Designer which is more difficult to do so.

  ### 23. Quite well with nintex

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hugo W. | Analyst Programmer, Real Estate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2016

**What do you like best about Nintex?**

Reusable workflow, easy maintenance,

**What do you dislike about Nintex?**

Some features have to be enhanced, such as I am unable to end another thread in "Parallel task"

**What problems is Nintex solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Approval workflow, nintex forms are easy to use

  ### 24. I like automation

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark D. | System Engineer, Education Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2016

**What do you like best about Nintex?**

The automation capabilities allows us to easily inform people and create tickets based on forms submitted by users.

**What do you dislike about Nintex?**

* Clicking the "Configure" arrow on objects only has a 50% success rate of actually showing you the visual drop-down menu.
* The email editor has a VERY difficult time retaining formatting when making changes and/or inserting variables

**Recommendations to others considering Nintex:**

Get familiar with native SharePoint workflows, then try Nintex to see the difference in capabilities.

**What problems is Nintex solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automated emails (and in turn tickets) created from SharePoint forms.

  ### 25. Great product for complex needs

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sammy T. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2016

**What do you like best about Nintex?**

The features available to use for a more customized feel.

**What do you dislike about Nintex?**

Support process. It's improving, however not as much on-hand support as I would prefer...especially for customized needs.

**What problems is Nintex solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pulling together multiple items into a merge document across many objects...not all related directly.

  ### 26. Sharepoint consultant using nintex for custom workflow applications

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2016

**What do you like best about Nintex?**

The idea that the actions are more "visual", it helps users with less knowledge of workflow to get a grip of the idea. The fact also that it goes beyond some basic functionalities as compared to sharepoint designer

**What do you dislike about Nintex?**

The way the loops are made. from a programming perspective it tends to confuse me a bit. Using two foreach loops one inside another can be quite a process for a simple workflow. And also a built in info referene guide could be a bit more useful for each action available.

**What problems is Nintex solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Content and Document management as well as acceptance reviews.
Permission allowance based on actions or criteria's

  ### 27. Very good product

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2016

**What do you like best about Nintex?**

Nintex provides the ability to do almost anything you would need to have a robust workflow environment.

**What do you dislike about Nintex?**

Some actions do not behave the way they would appear to on the surface, but, overall, I have very few complaints.

**Recommendations to others considering Nintex:**

From what I have been able to gather about workflow engines in the market that integrate with SharePoint, Nintex is by far the best value.

**What problems is Nintex solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have used Nintex for some rather complicated processes such as our Accounts Payable and Time and Attendance. Nintex is invaluable in being able to grab information from anywhere and pass it along for review and approval.

  ### 28. AssureSign Support was Excellent.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John S. | Project Manager, Insurance, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2013

**What do you like best about Nintex?**

AssureSign was very supportive during the multi-phase implementation.

**What do you dislike about Nintex?**

With most vendor relationships there is always and downside. However, AssureSign did everything possible to support our relationship.

**Recommendations to others considering Nintex:**

Consider their pricing and value when evaluating potential vendors.

**What problems is Nintex solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a number of potential customers who were unable to come into one of our local branch offices. With AssureSign they were able to complete a policy contract electronically.

  ### 29. Basic workflow user

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2016

**What do you like best about Nintex?**

It is simple to use and quite intuitive even if you do not have a developer background. There is a lot of information and tips available online when you wish to expand your knowledge or encounter an issue. I like the ability to see where the workflow failed and how you can work out where you have made a mistake.

**What do you dislike about Nintex?**

Being a new user of the Nintex workflow there is not really anything that I dislike yet.

**What problems is Nintex solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I implement simple business solutions to support idea management or requirement management, ensuring better governance

  ### 30. Great Product for designing complex workflows

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abhi P. | Application Consultant, Transportation/Trucking/Railroad, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2016

**What do you like best about Nintex?**

Ease of use for designing complex workflows. Ability to call functions like sql and xml.

**What do you dislike about Nintex?**

Would prefer more specific error messages.

**Recommendations to others considering Nintex:**

Helps to have a good understanding of CSS to modify the look and feel of your forms.

  ### 50. Taking SFDC Data to Generate Personalized PDF's with Drawloop

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Simon S. | Sr. Marketing and Business Development Operations Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2015

**What do you like best about Nintex?**

Drawloop can be entirely administered through Salesforce. No need to have another login to manage your account and team accounts. Simple install the app from the app exchange and start setting up your documents. Drawloop makes it easy to upload new documents and set up the logic to generate personalized documents. Even though it is a simple process, and easy to setup, there is a lot of advanced functionality under the hood.

You can:
- create custom charts
- pull pricing data
- dynamically update content based on opportunity/account type/custom data
- link with digital signature software to generate and send personalized documents that require signatures.

**What do you dislike about Nintex?**

Because everything is done through Salesforce it limits the usability to the Salesforce environment. Also setting up custom actions requires a lot of SFDC customization knowledge. It is not easy to simply set up a 1-click function, however doable if you have the knowledge.

**Recommendations to others considering Nintex:**

Buy with Docusign or another digital signature software. Ask your digital signature software partner who they work with.

**What problems is Nintex solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our sales team was spending so much time customizing documents and sending them to their clients that we needed a solution that would take data that we already had (Company name, Primary Contact, etc...), generate it in PDF format, then send it to our clients at a click of a few buttons. Drawloop has significantly reduced the amount of time our Sales team needs to generate sales documents and make them personalized to our potential clients.
