We benchmarked Nimble against Bright Data and Oxylabs across 50 protected retail targets. In our tests, Nimble delivered the highest first-attempt success rate and the lowest median latency, especially on JS-heavy pages. The VX8 render driver handled the anti-bot measures that stopped the others. Their live search using real browsers is also a major reason discovery on protected targets works at all. Their proxy pool also seems smaller than the big two, so when we needed very long-tail geos—specifically coverage in a few smaller LATAM countries—the available options were limited. When it works, the data is clean, and the success rates on hard targets are better than what we got with Decodo. The Generate Agent feature—where you describe what you want in plain English—is genuinely cool. What do you dislike about Nimble? It’s clearly built with larger deployments in mind. The $2500/month managed tier is more than we need, and the self-serve API takes a bit more engineering effort than the marketing suggests. The documentation also assumes you already know their vocabulary, which makes the learning curve steeper than it needs to be. We run around 2M page fetches a month across retail sites, and the success rate has stayed consistently above 98%. What really sold me was no longer having to babysit proxy rotation—the Extract endpoint just takes care of it. Support responds the same day, usually within a couple of hours. What do you dislike about Nimble? The dashboard could be organized more intuitively. Finding historical job runs takes more clicks than it should, and it isn’t as straightforward as I’d like. Figuring out what a month will actually cost is harder than it should be. Search is priced per 1,000 inputs, Extract per 1,000 URLs, Agents per request, and the JS render driver costs more than the standard option. If you’re trying to do anything nonstandard with agent configuration, you mostly end up having to ask support. I’ve used four scraping vendors in my career and Nimble’s support is the fastest by a mile. Real engineers answer, not tier-1 scripts. They helped us debug a gnarly session handling issue on a travel site within a day. We also lean on the live web search for ad hoc questions where we don’t already have a target URL. If you forget to set the response format to Markdown, your token costs can balloon. In my opinion, it should be the other way around: Markdown first by default. Before Nimble our agents were working off stale training data or janky SERP scrapes, and now they pull live sources and can check what they find. Agent runs at $0.025 a pop, which seems cheap until you’re running thousands a day. The volume discounts did help, but I had to ask for them instead of having them offered up front. Delivery to S3 in Parquet is exactly what our pipeline needed. We also discover new seller listings through the search agents, so we don’t have to maintain keyword lists by hand. Alerts sometimes trigger on trivial DOM changes that don’t reflect real price changes. I’ve asked for threshold controls, and I’m told they’re on the roadmap.
