We can set layered folder permissions to isolate sensitive sanction documents from regular client files. Every file action is automatically logged, which saves hours of work when compiling proof for customs audits. Cross-device sync keeps our field teams handling DACH border paperwork up to date, and the open-source model cuts recurring cloud service costs as our document archive expands. **What do you dislike about Nextcloud?** Loading folders filled with thousands of compliance PDFs creates noticeable slowdowns during audit preparation. There’s no native connector for our customs ERP, so we have to manually export CSVs to match shipment data. The base version doesn’t offer pre-made reporting templates formatted for BAFA submissions, requiring custom Python scripts to generate inspection-ready records. Constant patch updates and server maintenance also eat into our limited IT bandwidth. **What problems is Nextcloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** Public cloud platforms couldn’t satisfy Germany’s data localization requirements for regulated trade files, which put our AWG filings at risk of regulatory penalties.
