The higher level support is excellent when we have deeper questions on use and tips/tricks. They are consistently adding features or updating aspects that could improve efficiency for prodution and operations. **What do you dislike about Ollie?** Using Ollie Ops without Ollie Order has been a bit of a challenge. We haven't added Order yet because of the cost, but are experiencing some invoicing difficulties that do not allow us to have the most accurate inventory counts. We will likely upgrade in the future to add this service. Their general support can be a little slow (over 24 hours), when glitches or deletions need to be corrected in hours not days. Overall, the cons of using Ollie do not overshadow the pros and we are happy with continuing use of Ollie in the future. **What problems is Ollie solving and how is that benefiting you?** Ollie is helping us solve inventory management problems that were clunky and slow in the past with other brewing software. Ollie is simple to use and efficient. This saves me time and headaches. ### 2. Other systems we've used would prop up an error that then required some sort of clarification in another system, but good luck finding it, if you don't know or only use part of the system, or only have limited privileges. Ollie tells you what is wrong clearly, so it can be fixed easily. **What do you dislike about Ollie?** Ollie desperately needs better communication between Ops and Order. they need to be talking back and forth at all times. Also, Ollie changed their inventory management system without notice (at least that I saw) and broke nearly all of our recipes. We are clawing our way, slowly,back to it working again, but it's been frustrating to say the least. **What problems is Ollie solving and how is that benefiting you?** I love the inventory mangement both in ops and order. Other than the aforementioned Ops and Order lack of communication, I can have a clear insight to my ingredient levels, stock levels, etc. It has helped in little ways like batch forecasting, ingredient purchase, etc. ### 3. The visualization is nice and simplified so even if you're exploring for features, they tend to be not so hard to find. The organization seems to make sense (at least in line with much of my logic) . When things don't make sense and we encounter a problem, responses from customer service are quite quick and helpful on the first go. **What do you dislike about Ollie?** Sometimes it seems we need to click unnecessarily back and forth between screens rather than simply perform multiple tasks in the space. For example, during packaging, if say 10 1/2 barrels are packaged out of a tank, we need to click back to the dashboard to select the tank again and then fill however many sixtels, and then go back to the dashboard to select the tank again to fill however many cases... Why can't multiple packagings out of a tank happen on the same page? Some logic steps are not very intuitive. For example if you make a misclick resulting in an incorrect number of goods in the inventory, the solution is to delete them from the inventory and the volume gets replaced back in the tank it came from. Once learned, I suppose it works, but 'delete' isn't usually the first thought for correcting a mistake. **What problems is Ollie solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's helping to maintain raw goods inventory more accurately. It' s helping to track packaged goods more accurately. It's helping keep track of batches over time. ### 4. After you have all of your ingredients and additives programmed in, the ability to track your costs across multiple vendors is priceless. I also really enjoy the variety of reports you can run to keep track of your brewery's analytics. **What do you dislike about Ollie?** One thing I think could be improved about Ollie is the packaging runs. For bottling/canning, it seems pretty robust, but for kegs, one improvement that could be made is adding a provision for keg tracking. As a brewery that fills by weight and tracks by keg number, a way to track this within Ollie would let my brewery give up pen and paper almost entirely. **What problems is Ollie solving and how is that benefiting you?** Ollie is solving our issues relating to cost of goods tracking. With the inflation we've seen in recent years, it has been hard to track exactly what it costs to make our products. Also, with two brewers now on our team, it helps in communication between them to coordinating brewing and cleaning schedules. ### 5. The variety and thoroughness of the reports are very handy. I also really appreciate the ability to change units of measure and the integration with po generation is also very useful. **What do you dislike about Ollie?** It's very specific to beer. Trying to utilize it for other purposes is very dificult with too many work arounds instead of just having a feature or another mode. Things like Variety Packs are cumbersome. RTDs, NA products, non-beer stuff still has to go through brewing process, which is annoying. MOST IMPORTANTLY: do not let someone upload a recipe to the recipe book without double checking the ingredient names match the inventory items perfectly, otherwise your inventory list with be overloaded with dead inventory items and recipes will be broken. Same goes for POs and adding items to the inventory. If an item gets added to inventory and the name doesn't match perfectly, it creates new inventory item that will not line up with recipes. MAKE SURE THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN AS THIS IS A NIGHTMARE TO DEAL WITH. **What problems is Ollie solving and how is that benefiting you?** it's basically not yet. We've had to start from scratch because our purchasing people didn't know how to use it and their inability made it so no one else could use it either. ### 6. Preselling and allocating products to our accounts and distributors has helped us keep from overselling product and cut down our inventory mistakes. Also love the time we save on invoicing and routing each day. Helps to get our team out the door quicker and to make more deliveries throughout the day. Being able to mark deliveries that have occurred in real time helps keeps sales reps up to speed on what's happening when needed. **What do you dislike about Ollie?** A small issue I have is that when you adjust the delivery date after an order has been accepted, the due date (for net 30 accounts does not adjust automatically). Also, it can occasionally be difficult to find certain accounts while searching for them in the new order pull down menu. **What problems is Ollie solving and how is that benefiting you?** Efficiency and inventory control. We have beer stored in multiple locations so having accurate inventory is extremely important to us. They also have helped streamlining our invoicing and routing for deliveries. ### 7. If i want to do something, I just click and choose the appropriate function and enter my data. If I need to re-work something, the process is easy and there isn't as much double backing like in other softwares I've used in the past. **What do you dislike about Ollie?** The initial setup is a large undertaking. There are times that what something is accounting for that isn't noticed until later. The inability to break cases into 4-packs is also a challenge. Would love for this to sync with our taproom POS system to help manage taproom sales easier. **What problems is Ollie solving and how is that benefiting you?** The amount of time spent tracking gravities on the beer and tank management. Using the software frees me up to do more work away from paperwork or the computer. I spend maybe 30 minutes on my computer on Ollie each day whereas with other softwares it was a significant portion of my day. ### 8. Ollie is also visually appealing and well-organized. And the customer service is fantastic, specifically their quick turnaround to questions and support on any issues or questions that arise. **What do you dislike about Ollie?** It would be helpful to have a place to keep compliance information, i.e. for state reporting, COLAs. While TTB reporting is available, creating a way to capture the state compliance information and track filing the necessary state reports along with tracking if a product has COLA approval. We have to manage a seperate database for that and it would be nice to pull up a product and confirm compliance. **What problems is Ollie solving and how is that benefiting you?** Ollie allows us to streamline and save time, which is an important as a small organization without the resources larger organizations have access to. It also helps track down new or unknown accounts. I enjoy being able to use it right on my phone. Pretty intuitive interface too. **What do you dislike about Ollie?** Well I wish there was an offline feature for when there is no reception out in the field, this is something that happens to me quite often. I also think that at times in can be a little glitchy, for a couple months earlier this year I was unable to alter dates on ordwers while using the mobile version of Ollie. That has changed with the update however. **What problems is Ollie solving and how is that benefiting you?** Getting our orders entered and organized in one place is the main benefit of using Ollie. It also provides a hub for all those in the department to work off of which in turn improves workflow and efficeincy. ### 10. Invoicing works pretty solid as well when we invoice distributors. I think it's a little cumbersome on the staff with that. Should be easier. I don't need QB integration, so if that is slowing us down, need to push through a cleaner integration sans QB connection. **What problems is Ollie solving and how is that benefiting you?** We had a big problem with ekos and their clunkiness. Ollie has been better on most fronts. It helps us keep track of inventory fairly well which is our main use. Invoice distro as well. That is most of what we use it for. ### 11. Certain pages require moving the phone to landscape in order to navigate screens. It also has a huge benefit of maintaining continuity amongst our brew staff so that no one feels in the dark about about what needs to be done and we can all view most anything in relation to fermentation and product status. ### 13. Once the inventory of everything is in place we for the first time had the ability to track all raw materials and packaging materials. In the past this was done through spreadsheets and things get forgotten and you run out. Having inventory of the same product under multiple batch/lot numbers is something we have been using. **What problems is Ollie solving and how is that benefiting you?** Physical inventory is the biggest thing. Building a product so that when it is packaged it removes everything from inventory, brite cans, labels, carriers. Getting the alerts when you need to order helps to never run short on anything. ### 14. It is very user friendly, and has been easy to train our staff on. Having access to all (most) of the pertinent information for the brewery in a single location is immensely helpful for scheduling, ordering, batch tracking and even paying taxes. The communication between Ollie Ops and Ollie Order is fantastic as well. **What do you dislike about Ollie?** For us, the startup on Ollie was cumbersome, with most of the back end having to be entered manually (we were unablet to get the product & recipe loaders/templates to work for us). As we look to move all of our data collection and brewlogs online, and, ideally, into Ollie, I would like to see a greater range of data points that we can collect, and new ways to record them, and ultimately greater possibilities for creating reports based on these data points for trend tracking (specifically as it pertains to brew log data). **What problems is Ollie solving and how is that benefiting you?** Ollie has been a huge asset in being able to manage the brewery and production remotely. With insights into the batches in progress, inventory levels, and scheduling capabilities I am able to perform my duties as a Director of Brewing Ops from 2k miles away. Being able to "view" the brewery at any given point and see what my staff is seeing is tremendously helpful. ### 15. Option to upgrade to have the marketplace (not something we need since we sell mostly through distributors), and not being forced to have that option active. **What do you dislike about Ollie?** The credits to be allied to invoices and accounts is lacking. With keg deposits and keg tracking being something that impact a lot of brewery's day to day operations as well as money coming in and out the door with would be better to see credits applied directly to invoice totals vs needing another sheet of paper to reference just to see if an invoice is paid. Ultimately a customer that returns 3 kegs and could be COD isn't going to over pay $90 to make an invoice clear on one side and have $90 be paid back at another time. **What problems is Ollie solving and how is that benefiting you?** Inventory management, and an invoicing system that works simply with our way of running quickbooks (we don't integrate). It's been easy to keep things flowing on the finanical side of things. ### 16. Keeping track of packaged good in house and into distribution is one of the main reasons we chose to use Ollie. Its nice to seamlessly chack package logs and tack that batch all the way to service over the bar. **What do you dislike about Ollie?** Of course this is circustantial per brewery operation, but Ollie requires more hours than i can dedicate to it to get the full value out of it. As operations manager, I need to be both at my desk and in the back of house maintaining equipment, double checking inventory, placing orders, etc. so I find it tough to keep Ollie as up to date as it requires for its full potential. **What problems is Ollie solving and how is that benefiting you?** Ollie solved our invenotry reconciliation issues quickly once we implemnted it accross production and distribution. We were finding monthly discepencies on keg counts constantly. Now we know exactly what we have, how to pay taxes out properly and our sales team has a constant line on what inventory they have available to distribution. ### 17. It is also a fantastic tool for tracking our COGs. **What do you dislike about Ollie?** The only feature I feel is missing is I would like to be able to pull up a certain grain or hop and see what recipes those particulars items are used in to determine if a reorder is needed soon. For example: I could pull up Cascade hops and it would show me it was used in XXX recipes, which if those are beers we brew often, may signal it's time to order before running short as hops generally take longer to get than grains. **What problems is Ollie solving and how is that benefiting you?** I do not need to manually use spreadsheets for inventory tracking and I don't need to manually calculate what I need to order for upcoming scheduled brews. This saves considerable time and expense of miscalculating inventory. ### 18. Some were obviously made with big breweries in mind and the price reflected that. Other, less expensive options didn't provide the features we wanted. Ollie Ops strikes a great balance. **What do you dislike about Ollie?** With recent updates, it took me awhile to get the hang out of creating products and packaging but I think I'm getting the hang of it. It isn't overloaded with details or modules that the vast majority of breweries won't ever need. **What do you dislike about Ollie?** There are occasional redunancies when it comes to creating/ordering/adjusting items in inventory. The only thing I'm having consistent confusion about is yeast harvesting/repitching. **What problems is Ollie solving and how is that benefiting you?** Ollie is great for tracking inventory and scheduling production. It's great for keeping all information in one spot - raw ingredient and finshed goods inventory, beer recipes as well as individual batches. For the order and and inventory side, I dislike that there are separate save buttons on each beer format when the whole app else where auto saves.
