It does not diretly "talk" to procor and is not as robust. Newforma allows us to manage our projects from opportunity, through Construction administration and archive, efficiently providing unparalleled access to information. Newforma allows us to work under exacting timelines and provide the highest level of service with proven security for our clients. Newforma Project center is our file transfer program, our construction managment program, our email management program and so much more. it adds value to our organization is so many ways. **What do you dislike about Newforma Project Center?** we have an on premises network and some of the newest functionality is only available on the cloud based cversion using Office 365. Aside from that, we are still very pleased with the functionality we have and depend on. **What problems is Newforma Project Center solving and how is that benefiting you?** With Newforma we can find anything in seconds, which saves a lot of time and streamlines our worflow. Intelligent File transfers are in my opinion best in class. Archiving projects to send to clients is excellent as well, as it basically creates a self-contained intranet website for them to use that we can give to them on a flash drive or send to them via Info Exchange. Info Exchange is also a good tool, especially to send large files to someone (up to 2gb). The Consulant and Client connector is good, but there are some that find it difficult to use, especially if they aren't very tech savvy. **What do you dislike about Newforma Project Center?** The speed of doing daily tasks (filing e-mail, submittals, rfi's, etc.). It's not TERRIBLE, but it's not great either. The Newforma markup tools are not very good, but we use Bluebeam for markups, so we get around it that way. **Recommendations to others considering Newforma Project Center:** I like Newforma. Some of my users don't, but that would be the case regardless of what software we used. There are more products and competition in the market than there were when we started using it. We were brought into a lawsuit (as was everyone else on the project, regardless of whether the issue was theirs or not) and the time it saved in finding information was substantial. As architects we need an application that helps us well with everything else. Newforma has a been a consistent platform to help track all of the extra information generated as well as the design documents. I really like that it is custom to the AEC market and knows our companion applications and extends to mobile devices. **What do you dislike about Newforma Project Center?** My only reservation had been the interface and less than modern feel to the UX, but that has been changing. You can email important emails so that all of your internal team can stay up to date on the project. File transfers allow for large data transfers (up to 10 GBs) with change logs to see who and when files were downloaded. Construction admin tools like RFIs, Submittals, and on-site tasks like punchlists are great features too. The search functionality id great. It scans the entire project within your network looking within office documents, PDFs, emails, and even AutoCAD files for words/keywords. Newforma also integrates with Revit and allows you to control your document sets and revisions. **What do you dislike about Newforma Project Center?** Sometimes the platform can be overwhelming for users. I say that Newforma is like an all-you-can-eat buffet. There are so many options and trying to use them all could make you "sick", but if you use the basics, it can help you and your project team succeed. The interface can be a bit blunt, especially for architects who prefer colorful interfaces with nice icons. While the platform is a database on the backend, there are some features that could use some updates/enhancements. But I will say that Support is pretty responsive and will take feature requests into consideration. **Recommendations to others considering Newforma Project Center:** Use Newforma's How-To guides. They are easy to understand and use. Don't get overwhelmed with all of the features/modules. **What problems is Newforma Project Center solving and how is that benefiting you?** Checks and balances. We know what info has gone out/come in; everyone is up to date of the project's progress/process. Newforma project emails have allowed us to find information that's been crucial to the project, at a moments notice. The Shared Folder functionality allows the internal project team to share relevant data with the client and consultants while also allowing those outside parties to upload files back to our team. The files that the client and consultants access are outside of our network, so that along with requiring them to log in to get to the files in our Info Exchange site (think Smart FTP) limits security risks. ### 26. Once you have a team on board, they are usually advocates for using the system and won't go without Newforma on future projects. However confronting taking away from billable work, as well as having staff on hand that can support answering questions, training teams, and talking to external consultants about using InfoExchange are all necessary. Project managers are typically on very tight timelines, and do not have time to act as a help desk or software support. **Recommendations to others considering Newforma Project Center:** Have a dedicated resource to answer questions on hand at your organization. The biggest challenge will be adoption. It took a few years for the benefits to reach every corner of our operation. Plan on an initial round of training, and seek out those who will become Champions -- each development team will need a Newforma SME to get the maximum benefit. Start with email filing, then introduce other features one at a time -- Transmittals, Action Items, etc. Encourage project managers to integrate Newforma into project workflow. Newforma University is a great resource. We had a huge problem with losing track of communication regarding status of projects or issues that were occuring. From the standpoint of information arriving via email, the Project Email activity center is the most useful feature. Following very closely behind, File Transfers and the many ways to do it. Tracking plans submissions and other large datasets is inefficient when doing it through email, FTP, or even other popular cloud file transfer services. Having every transfer, trackable, through the Info Exchange activity center is worth its weight in gold. Finally, searching. Whether it's email, files, RFIs, Submittals... Newforma Project Center's search feature is unmatched and very reliable. **What do you dislike about Newforma Project Center?** Aside from two user interface refreshes in the 10+ years I've been involved with Newforma, very little has improved with Newforma Project Center. I would argue that the user interface refreshes have mostly been color scheme changes. Sure, performance has improved but that is expected. What I really dislike is the move to connectors. There is a plus an a minus. Of course, we all want connectivity but when it's a connector to something Newforma also does such as Contract Management, it shows the deficiency of some of Newforma Project Center's activity centers. Newforma Project Center can do a lot, but it does not do a lot very well or is not the top choice for the task. I would like to see Newforma make their bread-n-butter features much (much) better both in Project Center and the Mobile Apps. **Recommendations to others considering Newforma Project Center:** If considering Newforma Project Center for email management, you're making a wise decision even if you don't use another one of its features. That alone is worth the cost. You also cannot go wrong with its file transfer capabilities. What I caution on with any PIM/EDMS, if your files are a mess on the server and you don't clean that up, they will continue to be a mess in Newforma Project Center. If you are considering it for RFIs and Submittals, get to know the workflow very well and change your existing processes.
