It easily connects with multiple third-party services, making it a valuable hub to connect our data. We got great support setting it up which required little effort our end. We are still transitioning to the product, so we don't use it frequently yet. **What do you dislike about Newforma Konekt?** This is a new product and is still in the process of maturing to the level of Newforma Project Centre. If you already use NPC, you may be expecting features that aren't available yet but if you're new to EDMS, this will be an impressive tool. **What problems is Newforma Konekt solving and how is that benefiting you?** We need to track issues and changes on a project. It has some interesting features of prioritizing the clashes as per their magnitude. It helps a lot in issue tracking of which clashes are solved and which are not. Also, it is very user-friendly and easy to use. **What do you dislike about Newforma Konekt?** We can not run clash detection in the BIM track as we do in Navisworks. It should move in this direction and create its own clash detection also. Also allocating issues in the 3D model using the points is somewhat difficult. There should be specific viewpoints also. **What problems is Newforma Konekt solving and how is that benefiting you?** Coordination workflow is improved with the help of BIM track as all of the team can get see to the issues sitting in remote locations also. It is a kind of clash detection software but in BIM Track we can create the issue and categorizes them as per requirement. It also helps in tracking the issues which were faced during the project. Also helps in managing all the trades under the single platform. We can also create the issue and assigned to the person who is really responsible for that. Also for better understanding, we can comment and upload the pictures of any issues and publish over the cloud server. Also we can access this at mobile also , very kind of navis work Software. Also very easy to use software relatively to other asko very quick than other softwares. We use this software of MEP coordination and issue handling software which makes work flow too easy for the working teams. Direct integration with our daily used software items. While doing coordination, there are points and clicking on that points will bring you to the clash . **What do you dislike about Newforma Konekt?** There should be a separate software of BIM Tracke like revizto so we can run the clash in BIM Track it self. Sometimes it stick over a single issue and while clicking on any other issue it shows the other one. Also this software only works under the autodesk for BIM it should work with other software also. **Recommendations to others considering Newforma Konekt:** If you are working on big projects and also looking for the well designed addition to your revit and naviswokrs constructability review process, this is a best option for you. It also will help in tracking your issues and make workflow better. **What problems is Newforma Konekt solving and how is that benefiting you?** It will improve the coordination and workflow of the Big projects Like for multi-stories buildings. I have difficulty navigating in the model look at the other trades and also sometimes created issues are not clear much like if we unhide all elements it can hide the real issue behind any solid objects. It also allows the autocad but we generally do not do the coordination in autocad software. Some of the software is not very intuitive, If you want to get past a baseline understanding. There are sometimes synchronizing issue or bugs that are little frustating. ### 8. Only images of the issue can be seen at a time. The fact that you can integrate the communications with the items inside the model. **What do you dislike about Newforma Konekt?** The licensing model might not be the best as you need a paid seat for each user. **What problems is Newforma Konekt solving and how is that benefiting you?** We're solving coordination issues through communication. We report active issues, relate them to the elements, and assign them to the person that has to solve them. ### 10. Issue Tracking during Model AND Document Review **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Aaron M. | Director, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2019 **What do you like best about Newforma Konekt?** The fact that BIMTrack has "plugins" for various applications- but isnt specifically dependent on using those applications and plugins- is paramount, for my team: We are BUILDING models (not reviewing them) while reading and reviewing Drawings in PDF form (where the issues originate). The majority of our BIMTrack issues stem from PDF's, but we can use the Revit plugin or web app to input them, and the Revit plugin while reviewing answers and modeling. Another large upside (to our specific workflow) is that using BIMTrack isnt dependent on a document or model export of any kind: neither the PDF's nor the Models. We CAN leverage the models (when we are in to actual 3D coordination based on our models), but during the initial (main) design review/validation/reconciliation process, there simply is no upside to marrying the issues to a model. And- because we are issuing questions while we review PDF's that are stored elsewhere- hypothetically forcing us to use an issue system married to documents or models is a detriment we are happy to avoid. **What do you dislike about Newforma Konekt?** The Hub user count and licensing structure challenges us (as a very small company, who often needs very large teams on the hub). But it is a minor limitation. **Recommendations to others considering Newforma Konekt:** In the recent months ive compared BIMTrack, the new Autodesk BIM 360 Issue Tracker, and the Procore 3D Coordination Issue Tracker, as well. Feature wise and usability wise, i am the happiest using BIMTrack (i am having to use two of the three on different projects... The Autodesk one isnt fit for purpose, as it ONLY works with one specific file type from Navis, and only married to the BIM360 hub, both of which are not positive attributes). While i favor BIMTrack, other considerations may be if the party considering already maintains licensing for the other applications. As we work in Bluebeam Studio for PDF's, and dont currently use/subscribe to Procore, using BIMTrack (the better issue tracking software) is a no brainer. My concern is many who already pay for enterprise subscription to Procore may default to it (even if its clunkier and lesser than) out of the convenience factor of it being inside a product they already have. For Navis users, the integrations is great: Auto creating and grouping issues and creating them on the fly. For Revit users, there are a lot of interesting things you can do: Including creating issues through the API and Dynamo, from your model. **What problems is Newforma Konekt solving and how is that benefiting you?** As a 3rd party project reviewer, we are often creating "issues" that are independent (or sometimes integrated) with the GC/AE's official RFI process. In the past this was done through manual PDF document creation, and coordination. Many hours per week in document tracking and conversation managing are eliminated, using an issue tracking system. The design teams we interact with are sometimes willing to engage in the web app, so we dont have to shuffle documents to them, as well. ### 11. No longer looking at the model and trying to verify I am in the same place. Having the clahses assigned is saving time for us to go through all the clashes and rename and place in folders for assigning the resposible or effected parties reduces our time spent on generating reports. **What do you dislike about Newforma Konekt?** If we could generate views for non-clashes. Something that they would like to see modified but isn't a clash would be helpful. But overall this has been very useful not many dislikes. **Recommendations to others considering Newforma Konekt:** I don't think you will find anything that will do what they are doing here. The sorting and assigning of clashes saves time and allows you to track without manually going through and moving items into a resolved folder. **What problems is Newforma Konekt solving and how is that benefiting you?** This saves us a lot of time being able to have users in different programs running reports and others fixing them in the other software. We are also tracking the clashes better so we can see how long it is taking to address the issues and see who is or is not taking care of their assignments. ### 13. We use it for MEP (Mechanical Electrical Plumbing) model coordination purposes. **What do you dislike about Newforma Konekt?** Some of the software is not very intuitive, if you want to get past a baseline understanding, the learning curve is difficult. Since the software is cloud based, there are sometimes synchronizing issues/bugs that are a little frustrating to troubleshoot. If you have good internet speed and a good processor, this may be less of a problem. **Recommendations to others considering Newforma Konekt:** Make sure that you have someone to train you in person. **What problems is Newforma Konekt solving and how is that benefiting you?** Using it in project management MEP coordination has proven useful.
