**What do you like best about FydeOS?**

It is a quick and responsive operating system because it is made to function on low-powered PCs.
It is a free operating system that the user may use, modify, and customize by himself.
The fact that user privacy is prioritized and there are no undetected monitoring or data-collecting tools is what I enjoy best about it.

It may not be ideal for people who demand more sophisticated programs or software because it is designed for basic computing needs.
To install and configure it, considerable technical knowledge is needed.
It offers fewer resources and support alternatives compared to other operating systems.

**What problems is FydeOS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed an OS for my low-powered computer with privacy concerns, and Flint OS was the best option out there.

  ### 2. Flint OS is an amazing product!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2023

**What do you like best about FydeOS?**

Flint OS is built on Chromium OS, an open-source operating system that forms the foundation for Google's Chrome OS. Flint OS's capacity to run on older or less capable hardware is one of its most noticeable qualities, offering it a cost-effective solution for enterprises or individuals looking to reuse their old devices.

Another benefit of Flint OS is its emphasis on security and privacy. The operating system incorporates security features including validated boot, sandboxing, and automated upgrades that help protect users from malware and other internet dangers. Furthermore, Flint OS is designed to limit the acquisition of user data and provides users with a variety of privacy settings.

Flint OS also allows users to access the Google Play Store, allowing them to run Android apps on their desktops or laptops, which can be a substantial benefit for those who rely heavily on mobile apps.

Ultimately, Flint OS is a low-cost, safe, and privacy-conscious alternative to established operating systems, with the added bonus of Android app compatibility.

**What do you dislike about FydeOS?**

One of Flint OS's key downsides is that it is built on Chromium OS, which means it has less functionality than other operating systems such as Windows or macOS. While Flint OS can handle basic computer operations like online surfing, email, and document editing, it may not be up to the task of video editing or gaming.

Another major drawback of Flint OS is that it requires an internet connection to work correctly. Flint OS is intended to be a cloud-based operating system, which means it primarily relies on internet services like Google Drive and the Google Play Store. Certain Flint OS features and functions may be unavailable without a steady internet connection.

Moreover, Flint OS might not be appropriate for customers who are unfamiliar with the Google ecosystem or prefer to use non-Google services. Flint OS is strongly connected with Google's services, and while it does include certain privacy protections, some users may be concerned about the amount of data collecting and monitoring that is inherent in utilizing Google goods.

**What problems is FydeOS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the primary issues that Flint OS is intended to address is the difficulty of reusing older or less capable hardware. Much older equipment cannot run modern operating systems, limiting their usefulness and contributing to electronic waste. Flint OS is a lightweight operating system designed to run on outdated hardware, extending its life and decreasing electronic waste.

Another issue that Flint OS addresses is the requirement for a low-cost, secure operating system. Flint OS is built on the open-source Chromium OS, therefore it is free to use and may be modified to satisfy specific security and privacy requirements. Furthermore, Flint OS contains built-in security measures including validated boot, sandboxing, and automated upgrades to help protect users from malware and other internet dangers.

Flint OS also tackles the rising trend of cloud computing and the requirement for a simple and user-friendly interface for accessing web services. Flint OS's cloud-based architecture makes it simple to run and maintain, and its connection with Google services might be beneficial for individuals or enterprises who rely significantly on these services.

Ultimately, Flint OS addresses the issues of electronic waste, the need for cost-effective and secure operating systems, and the requirement for a simple and user-friendly interface for accessing internet services.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yogesh J. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2022

**What do you like best about FydeOS?**

Since FlintOS keeps all the applications in the cloud, it helps eliminate the problem of slowness from the device, which is a major plus. More dependency on cloud here has also significantly increased the battery life. Also, it is quite similar to Google Chrome, so its easy to use too.

**What do you dislike about FydeOS?**

It does not support a wide variety of app collection. Google play also does not work in this.

FlintOS is good as an alternative for complex OS; for some lightweight use when I don't want my system to lag much.I use this OS for running certain applications it supports and for simple browsing purposes.
