"Excellent API Management tool"
5/5
What do you like best about Nevatech Sentinet?

The UI is incredibly intuitive and powerful, an excellent combination when managing APIs for a large complex organization. We have also been impressed by the depth and breadth of the technical support provided by Nevatech. The tool allows an incredible level of flexibility due to the ability to develop custom components that can be easily deployed and executed within the tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nevatech Sentinet?

Need more robust version controls and a way to include pipeline component configuration changes in version control. Need better full-text search functionality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great automation capabilities with Sentinet"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Nevatech Sentinet?

We are very happy with Sentinet and it’s proven to be a robust application meeting the needs our business has; it’s a great governance tool and provides easy automated implementation in new environments.

Key benefits as we use them are:

- Flexible in regards of automated configuration of the services

o We continuously and automatically deploy ~1500 operations with different access control, transformations etc fully automated

- Stable and reliable (not a root cause of downtime as far as we can remember with approximately 5 years in production)

- Great capabilities regarding security, access control and monitoring

- Low overhead (latency) on services - with access control and extensive logging

- Great support from Nevatech

- Good separation between core services and logging

o Asynchronous logging of all service calls (no speed decrement for consumer while logging)

o Database can be offline without interrupting services

- Easy licensing model per server (no advanced calculations or hidden costs) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nevatech Sentinet?

- No powershell support (we are a MS house and rely heavily on powershell for all our devops needs, and although they have different APIs that gets the job done, they really should have a powershell module)

- Admin console still using Silverlight (waiting for Sentinet 5.0 where it is removed, which will happen in this quarter)

- A bit cumbersome to automate (flexible, but somewhat cumbersome). But when set up, it’s easy to incorporate changes Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Sentinet + Automation = 0-touch Management"
5/5
What do you like best about Nevatech Sentinet?

The best thing about Sentinet so far has been the company behind it. Nevatech has been very responsive to our questions, concerns, and requests for adjustments to the product.

There are a number of features of the Sentinet product that stand out. The first is how simple it is to set up and configure. There's a small learning curve to understand the terminology used in the product and relate that back to your own view of the world, but once that's achieved then everything just "makes sense" and setting up APIs to work through Sentint is a breeze.

Sentinet is itself an API-first product. So it is also easy to establish some automation in your deployment pipeline to provision new and updated API services as well as API clients (Access Rules). We have achieved a "0-touch" model where our applications are released, Sentinet is kept current, and there is no manual intervention required.

The gateway (Node) component of the Sentinet product is also designed to support High-Availability in that the gateway can be load balanced AND it will continue to function even when the backing repository or database becomes unavailable. Because of this, we have created an automated process to deploy (and upgrade) the ENTIRE Sentinet platform in a Highly-Available manner where the entire platform in production can be upgraded in <10 minutes with ZERO downtime.

Another feature of Sentinet that we have leveraged is the ability to aggregate multiple APIs into, what appears to the client, as 1 API. This enables us to separate the physical deployments of endpoints so resources like /cars, /cars/{carId}, and /cars/{carId}/tires can appear to the client as 1 cohesive API while in reality those 3 endpionts are hosted by 3 different backing services. What do you dislike about Nevatech Sentinet?

There are a few quirks with Sentinet that we have had to work around although none of them have been show stoppers. And, all of our major concerns have either been already addressed with a newer version or are in Nevatech's development pipeline to be addressed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Userfriendly interface even though its Silverlight. :)

Based on .NET and WCF, it suits our Microsoft enviroment very well.

Great at establishing better security for webservices lacking proper security on thier own.

Provides an good and update catalog of webservices Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nevatech Sentinet?

GUI based on Silverlight, but as it is to be removed in the coming 5.0 version that will no longer be a issue. :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Sentinet is a great product!"
5/5
What do you like best about Nevatech Sentinet?

Sentinet's easy-setup saved up a lot of our time on configuring it and get it up and running. It was done as quick as in just half a day. The user interface is so intuitive that we do not need to reference to the documentation all the time. Support response is fast and can understand our issues and questions rapidly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nevatech Sentinet?

I was wondering why Sentinet was not on the Gartner MQ so that other users could know about its capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great SOA Governance and API Management tool"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Nevatech Sentinet?

I like the combination of SOA Governance and API Management in one tool.

The centralized repository gives us the capability of tracking and documenting business-critical services, APIs and all dependencies.

It is very easy to install and maintain, security is state-of-the-art. The authorization mechanisms are very sophisticated.

Nevatech’s support is fantastic with very fast turnaround times for any questions we have. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nevatech Sentinet?

Sentinet is a well-thought through product, I cannot find anything to dislike. It is missing a API Portal for external developer access, but I hear this is already in the roadmap to be developed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
