I love that there is no agent to deploy. When I need to assess a customer site for a vulnerability assessement, I can run the scan from the admin's workstation, or in some cases, I ship them a miniPC that they hook up to their network and that I can then access via my RMM tool to run all necessary scans. The multitude of reports can be overwhelming, and many of them repeat the same information in different formats. However, for MSP/MSSPs that provide the reports to the customer, this offers great flexibility. Given that I work with very non-technical SMBs, I don't send the reports to the customers - they wouldn't understand much. Network Detective is a great tool for quickly gaining a overall picture of a client's network. We frequently use the tool when engaging new clients to provide high level assessment of their network and servers. What do you dislike about Network Detective Pro? There is a LOT of output. The vast majority of the reports and outputs we have no use for. Our clients are not interested in reading through hundreds of pages of reports. There are executive summaries available, but they usefulness is limited in my expereince. Does a lot of different things in a single license. We keep looking to replace it but the only replacement options involve at least 2 or 3 different products. Documentation is confusingly mixed with other RapidFire Tools products. Support reps don't seem to know anything that isn't in the documentation. Our primary use case right now is for discovery & health checks in new environments. Network Detective Pro is great for getting clients to realize the things they need to resolve within their network in order to make a more secure environment. There is a lot of setup in order to get it to run within a network for the amount of info given. It provides robust functionality and options for scanning a client's technology footprint. Network Detective Pro worked great for clients with office infrastrcuture. There were tons of reporting aspects and metrics. Being able to create scripts to remotely deploy with any RMM was a plus. Unfortunately like any Kaseya products Network Detective Pro would require you to sign up for multi-year deals. The product was not ideal for small organizations that were fully remote without any IT support. It had a patching compliance tool but did not have vulnerability management aspects that competitors include. What problems is Network Detective Pro solving and how is that benefiting you? Network Detective Pro helped with a baseline assessment for clients when they had no prior IT support. It would give an idea of how to sell services to clients.
