NetSuite is one of the best ERP I have used. The UI is friendly. The font is not too formal. It can integrate with several other applications seamlessly that saves me hours each week. I like that the box in a transaction where you enter an amount can act like a calculator - it's an unexpected but useful feature! NetSuite can be irritating sometimes, to be honest. There are some limitations especially when it comes to multi-book setup that cause issues later without knowing it at a time.

As advanced as NetSuite is, as complicated as it can be as well. The user is required a proper training in order to understand the system and optimize the features.

NetSuite can sometimes be slow and delayed as well, especially in Advanced Intercompany Journal Entry module. And if we make a copy of an existing AIJE, the account in lines twitches and sometimes changes itself when we click enter from one line to another. That causes a little bit f extra time to double check before saving the transaction. And if we missed it, it will cause the issue later when presenting a report to an executive. I like that NetSuite tracks all of our transactions and products sold. I've learned to create scripts that allow me to get dashboards and data out of NetSuite. Using cloud features has been the most helpful because it lets me see under the hood. As a startup, if you add multiple modules that you do not end up using in the future, there's no way to remove them. If you remove them, you cannot lower the contract value. So I would start with what you actually need and then add on as you go. Don't buy into the bundle because if you don't need something in the future, you will be stuck with it forever, and the value of the contract will never go down. The initial setup was very difficult. We hired a consulting firm to do it for us, and they were terrible, which made the experience unpleasant. We paid for a whole year before we even went live. I use NetSuite as our central ERP and "source of truth," and it's really useful having all that functionality for a mid-size ERP. The advanced purchasing, accounting, and advanced manufacturing modules are fantastic. I like how NetSuite One World helps with our Order-To-Cash process, capturing revenue and cost accurately across different businesses in our acquisition style operation. What I really appreciate are the customizable forms and workflows along with ad hoc reporting, all of which speed up and smooth our business operations, allowing us to capture and report on the critical data we need. I also find it useful how we can track the work our engineers do directly on the sales order form and use a drop down for job statuses to gather performance metrics, which are then displayed in custom dashboards. Intercompany transactions are pretty lacking. For instance, I can't create a work order from an intercompany order, making moving orders around time intensive and frustrating. When we create manual work orders for these orders, there's no seeded way to track them, so we have to add more custom fields and reports. Our implementation was a disaster. I was brought in almost 2 years after the fact to try to fix it. There was no data cleansing, configurations were left half-finished. I appreciate how customizable the homepage dashboard is and that I can access my most frequently used tools right from there. The search bar is also very flexible, which lets me quickly look up just about anything I need. It’s also nice that it includes accounting, CRM, and inventory all in one place, so there isn’t a lot of integration work to do.

I am a big fan of using saved searches to provide insights for scheduling and keeping track of sales orders. Additionally the ability to filter and highlight certain information allows for users to more efficiently see the priority orders to be worked on or checked up on with the warehouse and customers. I like how flexible NetSuite is and how you can interact with it. It's getting easier and easier to connect it with other platforms, whether out of the box or paid services, or using the AI models. We have been able to connect different ways, like an Apple Shopify connection with third party Selena, Floj connecting our POS Square, and using ShipStation for generating labels, all done by CSV. Some of the modules seem like they were an afterthought or built in, which isn't great. The language and safe search features aren't always clear, and there are limitations in setup that just aren't obvious. This kind of hidden knowledge is frustrating. Knowing that NetSuite is primarily a general ledger would have been helpful and saved us time. The initial setup was really challenging because we didn't have any on-site IT experts, and the consultants weren't much help. We had to manually handle a lot of processes, which was tedious.
