Secure access is really easy, and I appreciate that I can fire up the computer, the client starts, and it connects immediately to the network. This minimal interaction required by the user is the reason we bought it. The client side has always been extremely easy to use. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Access?** I don't really have any complaints, the ease of use is the primary selling point for us. **What problems is Absolute Secure Access solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use Absolute Secure Access to seamlessly access our internal network remotely, allowing our technicians to efficiently access the ERP from the field. Their always-on, suspended-state VPN client is still awesome for what we do and how we use it, especially for devices that use applications remotely that connect to a database. Anyone who uses SQL knows that even the slightest blip can cause issues using any software that bounces off a database which is very annoying for both the users and those of us who have to administer it. Absolute's improved functionality thru the easy-to-use web console has given us more flexibility to be able to put our VPN client in a bypass state while working inside the 4 walls of the office which reduces network usage. Another plus in the Absolute side of things. It has allowed us to more easily communicate with devices remotely rather than playing the game of deciding which network adapter is registered in DNS today. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Access?** This is the part of the survey that will explain why not only have I reduced my overall score of Absolute but why we are actually moving away from Absolute entirely at the end of this year when our licensing agreement is up. When dealing with a company, especially one that we give a lot of money to year-after-year for their services, how they treat me in response to that does rate very highly for me. Customer service with Absolute has gotten a little complicated over the last year or two. If you ask a support question more often than not you're hit with a response that links to a doc that may or may not answer your question as opposed to having a conversation with someone. Also, as with any tech company getting bigger these days, you may be met with someone who is a paid Helpdesk support person who spends days-into-weeks collecting information and leaving the problem unsolved. Because of degradation in service we will be moving away from Absolute, as previously stated, and moving forward with our firewall vendor's always-on VPN client, FortiClient. We have a personal, open communication with the engineers who will be working with us and are available at the ready. We would rather pay them than Absolute. **What problems is Absolute Secure Access solving and how is that benefiting you?** They are providing us with a client that is secure and easily manageable while also keeping our users from having annoying downtown or disconnect issues. A big motivating factor that Absolute offered, as stated in my review of what's good about this client, is the suspended state that Absolute can stay in versus the competitor. This seems like a small thing but in practice it's huge. Our prevous clients, when something went wrong such as disconnecting, power or network outage, or any other temporary blip in connectivity, our users would have to essentially restart their days at times by closing down all open programs that require a consistent connection to our firm's servers to operate. Our DMS would have to re-establish a connection from scratch, our programs such as the Office suite that use that DMS connection would also have to be closed down and reopened as a simple refresh option isn't available, and our time management programs that require a consistent connection to the database would have to be restored. This was a pain if it happened during the day. Absolute's ability to suspend its connective state stopped all of that from happening. That alone is worth the change of program. ### 3. This has been great for troubleshooting network and environment access issues, and finding new policy opportunities. Single sign-on works well and connections are very stable! **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Access?** A negative aspect would be lack of management on the server side as this is a cloud-based solution that lives in Absolute's environment. Support is fairly responsive though when changes are required, especially during the on-boarding phase. Many policies may have to be built out depending on your org's needs. Easy setup and licensing. The software is super user-friendly, even for non-techy folks. Great that I can deploy specific profiles. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Access?** It very rarely has issues, but the only real one is disconnects in situations where there is a constant connection to devices that go in-and-out of cellular service areas. We run towboats and cell service can be great near ports, but awful on open river. A reboot fixes this 99% of the time, seriously. It's just a minor complaint. **What problems is Absolute Secure Access solving and how is that benefiting you?** As a towboat company, we transport barges with materials and use an industry-specific client-server operations software for logging/location reporting of our vessels. I could go on and on about how genius this UI is, but in short, it just gives you so much control all in one place. The ability to fail over seemlessly is very helpful, especially when updating and patching servers. I can't say enough good things! Tech support is truly outstanding. I use this product daily and am so impressed with it. Updates are relatively easy to implement, but if ever I have an issue, tech support guides me to success quite quickly and easily. Integrating modifications to policies and deploying new client versions is also made very simple. Overall, remarkable product. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Access?** Literally, the only minus that I could offer is that I prefer a dark theme or setting and the Secure Access Control does not have that option. I just need to activate the VPN to protect the connection and no other complex setup needed. They also gives unlimited bandwidth and I don't to keep monitoring my internet usage traffic anymore. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Access?** Nothing is broken or difficult with this application. It is smooth sailing from the first time I am using it until now. **What problems is Absolute Secure Access solving and how is that benefiting you?** Secure internet connection, especially when I want to access to confidential document from company document storage. Like if I go into one of our Netmotion consoles and try to activate a license the link in the console does not go to the new website. It goes to the old one that doesn't work. Won't be an issue after I upgrade to Absolute on that console to Netmotion. **What problems is Absolute Secure Access solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have a Police Department. Absolute allows us to have a secure connection that will automatically connect when an officer logs into Windows on the squad car tablet. Connection automatically reconnects itself if cell service is interrupted. With our old VPN solution you had to launch a seperate APP before connecting to our network resources and software. There is nothing for the user to mess up so we don't have any trouble with it. ### 27. You don't even have to worry about VPN disconnect. From updates to client installs Absolute is one of the easiest solutions to keep up to date. Their customer support has been very quick to resolve all issues we have had over the years. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Access?** We were a little concerned when Netmotion was going to become Absolute Secure Access. I've been through that rodeo before and things can get real messy after a switch. **What problems is Absolute Secure Access solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our fleet has Mobile Data Terminals and for years we had been using a standard VPN. I saw a demo of Absolute (it was NetMotion when we acquired it) and loved the connection and security. We tested it in a few vehicles and it worked perfectly. And the answer to that my friend, is YES! Absolute secure Access is just about one of the best VPN remote access solutions out there. It offers seamless remote connectivity and secure access to our corporate network. It is quite easy to setup, install and manage. I also find the software is very user friendly, even to non-tech savvy clients. We setup the VPN on our client laptops for in car and WFH use. Once setup, it is ready to go, with minimal need for tech support. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Access?** If you are not careful, you can have inactive devices using up available licenses. I had to write a PowerShell script to occasionally go into the server and cleanup devices that haven't been used for a while, to make room for more. It would be nice if this was an inbuilt feature, and I didn't have to write a script. **What problems is Absolute Secure Access solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have multiple cars on the road, connecting over cellular data, and some staff working remotely. We use Absolute Secure Access for seemly and secure connectivity back to our corporate network. Clients can securely access network resources. Another great feature is the Always-On VPN. This allows our remote clients and devices to always stay securely connected to the corporate network, even when transitioning between different networks. ### 29. Setup was straightforward and support is there if you need it. The stability of the connection allows for use of even some very network intensive applications without need for a Citrix desktop or other solution. Being on the VPN is very close to being in the building for a user experience. Security is very high and the dashboard allows for loggin of use. Our users report a much more stable and lasting connection which facilitates such intensive applications as Solidworks PDM to work so even our remote sales people can discuss drawings and specifications with the customer. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Access?** The Secure Access connection can take over the internet connection and if it fails to connect, (user forgot password etc) then they may have no connection to the internet at all until they disable the connection. This is more difficult as we use Duo 2 factor authentication, and that is not so freindly with no internet connection. This is easily fixed by setting the client to not automatically connect. **What problems is Absolute Secure Access solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Solidworks PDM and Infor Visual ERP. Other VPN products did not serve these network intensive appliactions with as solid a connection. User experience is better, and I do not have to maintain so many Virtual desktops that can be used remotely to serve these applications from within the network to a computer they can RDP to. RDP was rather clunky for some to use. ### 38. It make it difficult to accuratly connect to a computer remotely because both the physical network connecton and the virtual network connections get registered in DNS.
