The fact that modifications can be done so easily is extremely helpful as we have more complex leases. The built-in reports are also very helpful and we have been customising them as they suit us. This new accounting standard was quite daunting when introduced, especially when we have many complex leases, so the implementation of NetLease took care of this completely. Leases with a complicated history and ongoing modifications are all covered under NetLease. NetLease also sets up segregation of duties based on all our user's custom roles which ensure all users have their correct permissions and appropriate approval processes are followed. Love that the software calculates all of the accounting for the leases and automatically posts journal entries to NS monthly. Implementation team was helpful when we had questions. Would prefer more pro-active Implementation team (1) we found listing of UAT items on our own and would have appreciated the NetGain team providing the UAT listing to us before we spent a lot of time trying to figure things on our own and (2) we were behind implementation timeline and no one from NetGain reached out to us. Net lease simplifies the management aspect of leases and tracks them all in one place. The system allows us to see the critical information in all leases, and the reporting tools are beneficial. The learning curve is a bit high; however, once we use it for a few months, the error has gone down. To improve this, Net lease should have a FAQ section or basic common mistakes/solutions guide. Our business manages hundreds of leases, and Net Lease handles the accounting side very well. The system allows us to run month end with a click of a button. NetLease is fully integrated with NetSuite. It feels like any other menu. Lease menus are easy to navigate, and instruction pop-ups are straightforward. What do you dislike about NetLease by Netgain? The report menus could be a little less cumbersome. Possibly more sub-menus to "break up" the different report options. For companies that want an easy, straight forward software solution for ASC 842 adoption and lease accounting post-adoption, NetGain is a great product. As a company that doesn't have a large lease footprint, this software was the perfect fit in that it is relatively cost-effective while still providing the full package that I would expect from any lease software offering. What do you dislike about NetLease by Netgain? The only problem I have had is related to the reports and it is more of an issue with NetSuite itself rather than NetLease or NetGain. The reports are great - however, if you made any entries in prior periods with older dates, it will present using the older dates instead of the posted dates making it confusing at times. NetLease takes all the complicated rulings of ASC 842 and makes it very manageable especially when you have deadlines and are trying to figure out how the leases should be presented financially. NetLease by NetGain is wonderful in helping us generate and commence our amortization schedules for all of our various capital leases, whether it is for real estate leases or vehicles! NetLease by NetGain is a bit complex when it comes to editing leases that have already commenced; however, they do have a great feature called Time Machine to go back and make changes. We stumbled upon NetLease in 2019 when we were looking to implement ASC 842. We are a growing company and open multiple offices in a year. We started with 40 leases and are now more than 100, which will continue to grow. We can't imagine managing the schedules for each of these in excel. NetLease was a blessing because we could now manage the leases directly in NetSuite, our accounting system. The lease amortization schedules are created with a click of a button and have all the relevant information needed for our reconciliations, backup for Audit requests, etc. Setting up a lease record and quickly analyzing monthly rent expenses is effortless. Our month-end lease accounting is very quick, thanks to NetLease. The initial team was very helpful in answering our queries and quickly fixing any problems we had. Previously it wasn't easy to update leases once they had commenced. But now the time-machine function helps us with it. NetLease made our transition from 840 to 842 smooth and manageable. The portal in NetSuite for lease management is easy to navigate. It lays out all of the information for each lease, so it is easy to find any relevant information you may need at any given time. The implementation of the product went very smoothly. Brittley was great to work with. She was able to answer all of our questions on time and customize our setup for our specific needs in the system. She is a wealth of knowledge and has worked with us step by step going live in the system.
