## NetDocuments Reviews
  ### 1. Game-Changing Outlook Integration for Fast, Complete File Access

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2026

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

The most helpful feature of NetDocuments is being able to see the "physical file" online, including emails, without needing to find the physical file. The integration of Outlook into NetDocuments is a game changer for staff looking for information that is not in their email but someone else's. Staff can now quickly look at file if they are asked a questions by a client or lawyer and get the most recent information and activity.

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

There is a lot of self-discovery for best practices and features that need someone trained in software analysis or implementation, which, if you do not have someone on staff who can do it, you have to hire third party which is expensive for smaller long firms.

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

NetDocuments resolves two problems for us - reliance on the physical file, and closed storage. We are more efficient when we can quickly look into NetDocuments for information that we used to rely on the physical file. And we can wind down our need physical space for closed storage.

  ### 2. Effective and User-Friendly Document Management for Attorney Offices

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

My company transitioned over about a year ago. I have found that once you get over the learning curve, it is a very effective program for attorney's offices. Documents are easy to save, adding files not complicated, and moving or copying into other files very user friendly.

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

If you are working with discovery documents, it is very time consuming to rename, move or copy copious amounts of documents.

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All documents are saved and named efficiently in one folder with author and type of document. No other program that I have used does this.

  ### 3. Easy-to-Navigate Case Management Files

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Valerie T. | Practice Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

How easy the case management files were to navigate.

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

It would freeze up from time to time, which was a little frustrating

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Case management, easy to find cases.

  ### 4. Definitely not as good as Worldox

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John W. | Attorney, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2023

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

1.	The search function works very well.
2.	It is relatively easy to save documents (but see below).
3.	The compare function within NetDocs works well. You can still do it outside of NetDocs.
4.	It is very easy to download attachments to emails.

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

The awkward:

1.	It is a circuitous route to set up a new client and new matter. You will figure it out, but it was much easier in Worldox.
2.	The help function is overly complicated.

The warnings:

1.	They did not automatically set-up all of the sub-folders (levels 3, 4 and 5 of Worldox) for my clients. Just clients and matters. I had to get upset and push them to set up the subfolders, and it cost me a significant amount of additional money.
2.	When they set up the subfolders, many did not have the common names given to them. Just the short name from Worldox.
3.	Even though they didn’t give me the subfolders I created, they took it upon themselves to set up subfolders based on the document types specified in Worldox – email, corres, contracts, etc. The problem is that many lawyers did not carefully pick the types. So I have a lot of unnecessary subfolders
MAKE SURE YOU ARE VERY CLEAR IN TELLING THEM WHAT YOU WANT.

The bad:

1.	As I note above, I have subfolders. However, I cannot figure out how to make more, to save documents to those subfolders or to open those subfolders except through a search.
2.	Unlike Worldox, they could not set up something to delete emails from Outlook when you save them to NetDocs.
3.	In order to have a cleaner looking page, the list of documents shows fewer at a time. Hate it.
4.	The Doc Type folders they set up are worthless.
5.	They do not provide much storage within the price quote. I am still unsure if the pricing will go up as I save more documents, or if I will need to download stuff from NetDocs to store it off-line.
6. Essentially no support.

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None. Worldox was a great product. I left my prior firm to work on my own. I needed a document management system. I called NetDocuments because they acquired Worldox. I assumed it would be a seamless transition. I was wrong.

  ### 5. wastage of Money, really slow Application, Support is Disaster

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amir S. | IT Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2022

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

easy to use
all the docs at one place
send documents in an email attachment in one click.

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

application is too slow
applications crash a lot
required lots of bandwidth
uploading documents from your computer into ND is a nightmare.

**Recommendations to others considering NetDocuments:**

I won't recommend people to use this application, we wasted 70k on it and now there is no point of return, so be careful in selecting ND for your office, don't trust the salesperson.

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Document management and tried to save time and paper.

  ### 6. Keeps all of our Files in One Place! Easy to Organize!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karen C. | Marketing and Client Intake Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2021

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

NetDocs keeps all of our files in one place (well, in one interface but in multiple folders! It is easy to organize and create various folders needed to keep all of your documents easily organized! You can add new folders, subfolders, rename documents, and chech in and check out documents as well. We love that you are able to keep different versions of your files as well just incase you need to access and older version. You can also view documents without having to download them, which is great!

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

Sometimes it takes a while for folders to be created if you are using Safari. But if you use Chrome, all is good!

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is easy to keep all of our files roganized in NetDocs. And if your computer crashes or breaks for whatever reason, or if you need to use a diff laptop on the go, you have all of your files in one place. No need to keep a USB with limited capacity.

  ### 7. Powerful DMS with some great features and some limitations

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicole A. | Senior Counsel, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 31, 2021

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

NetDocuments was a huge upgrade for us that greatly improved our filing, storing, and searching capabilities.

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

I wish that the outlook plug in was more robust; I found that I still had to leave outlook and go into the web browser much more frequently than I would have liked (when say, compared, with imanage which I'd previously used). The required structure of having different cabinets to store matters in was also suboptimal.

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our previous system was very tedious to file documents in and then even harder to find and get them out once they were filed. NetDocs revolutionized our lives by making these basic tasks much more efficient and effective.

  ### 8. Great Product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2021

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

The ease of use for this product make it a one of a kind

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

The ndclick gets stuck at times but not often

**Recommendations to others considering NetDocuments:**

Give it a try, you will be suprised

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

People are able to add changes in a reasonable way

  ### 9. Great way to securely send documents, internally as well as externally with a link.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andre G. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2020

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

Being able to just provide the netdoc id to a client is very convenient of course if they have the account. If they don’t, you can simply provide an external link with a password so anyone can view the doc. That makes sending documents super convenient.

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

The layout of the folders. I struggled finding the documents I posted to netdocs. I would have to look them up using their id number. I’d definitely like it more if they put more emphasis on the folders layout.

**Recommendations to others considering NetDocuments:**

Very convenient way to securely post documents for your clients to see them with their log in info. Many companies don’t want to send files via emails and netdocs is what solves that inconvenience.

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problems of sending sensitive documents via email. Emails can be forwarder to anyone including your sensitive documents.

The benefits are numerous. Securely posting the documents to netdocs only for your client who has their own log in and only they can see it. Plus you have an option to send an external link which you can send to anyone.

 Definitely solves many problems

  ### 10. Worth having, if you're not on a Mac

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kimber F. | Paralegal, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2019

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

We have a "correct" place to save documents pertaining to any given matter, and this keeps everything in one place. You can add multiple tags to any document, which is helpful in searching. It's fairly easy to use, once it's set up.

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

NetDocuments' integration with Mac is not as smooth as they would have you believe. Two of our attorneys tend to work offline for this reason, and don't always manage to save their versions to NetDocs. Sometimes this is forgetfulness on the part of the attorney, and sometimes it is a NetDocs issue.
Saving a document takes several steps, but I think it's worth it.

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is now much easier for us to determine which version of the document is the most recent (at least when they get uploaded). There's no more trouble with people saving things in different folders dedicated to the same thing, so it's much easier to find things too.

  ### 11. Excellent document management system

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2019

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

NetDocs helps you manage your documents. You can save docs with profiles, which puts them in virtual "folders." The folders work by segregating the items by client, matter, document name, and type of document. There is also a comments section that allows you to put notes in about the document. You can save your emails to the system as well. All users can access the documents, and you can tell when someone else has "checked out" a document to work on it. You can also save versions of your documents as the document changes. It's great for law firms.

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

I don't have any negative comments. I like everything about NetDocs and highly recommend it.

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to access documents from anywhere I have a web connection. It makes it easy for me to work at home or on the road. Everything is in one place, and searching for documents is easy.

  ### 12. Great system... unless you have a Mac

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2019

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

The management of documents is clean and intuitive. Being able to control access selectively has been useful. We've found it to be a much better solution than our previous program.

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

I believe we were oversold on the functionality with Mac. On our PCs, it works like a dream and have had little to no issues with most users. Our Mac users have struggled. We were told that this works with Mac just like PC, but the truth is, it is nowhere near as functional on a Mac.

**Recommendations to others considering NetDocuments:**

If you use PCs, I absolutely recommend this program. It's been incredible for our PC users. If you work on Macs, expect compatibility struggles, workarounds, and difficulty.

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Accessibility has been our biggest upside. The ease of logging in from anywhere is amazing. Our documents are all better organized and categorized. Finding older documents in our archives is a million times better.

  ### 13. Took Our Firm to the Cloud!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2019

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

It makes document management very easy. Customizing your homepage means you don't have to be looking for documents you are frequently working on and you create a to do list with the. I love how working remote is much easier and you can cut down on other software because this is a fairly inclusive solution.

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

I do with more than one person could open a document at a time to work on it and not need a "shared space". The only thing with the Clio integration that slows things down is that you do have to manually link from Clio to NetDocs, but once it is done, it is great! You can easily put this into your processes for the first few months and not do it all at once.

**Recommendations to others considering NetDocuments:**

Utilize the training and don't be afraid to ask questions, this is a very powerful and comprehensive tool so there is a lot to learn, but once you do you will be very pleased with all the functionality.

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Becoming cloud based, remote work, efficiency, integrating software. We have been able to move our firm to the cloud so we have a more flexible work environment. We are also able to integrate with other software to make our systems for efficient and automated. NetDocs has been a great move for us and has really elevated our firm.

  ### 14. Daily User

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2019

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

I like the ability to easily load multiple documents to NetDocs.

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

I do not like trying to search for documents. Sometimes random things will pull and other times I can't get NetDocs to find the documents I need. It is not conducive to quickly finding a document to open and use, move or download.

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

NetDocs is just slow for the amount of work I need to do. It's a great cloud storage but it takes forever to move from document to document or file to file.

  ### 15. Not user friendly and slows down productivity

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2019

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

It's helpful to have all documents and files available in the cloud so everyone can access from anywhere. Also saves our server storage space.

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

All documents have to be uploaded individually and the process took a very long time. The process of looking up specific matter numbers is irritating. I find I'm much more efficient at work when I'm using windows explorer. Users are unable to have multiple file exploration windows open and the constant clicking back and forth between files is incredibly annoying.

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helpful to have all documents and files available in the cloud so everyone can access from anywhere. Also saves our server storage space.

  ### 16. Cloud-based Document Management - with benefits and quirks

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard L. | Paralegal, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2019

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

Moving to a cloud-based document management system has been extremely useful for remote or mobile workers, plus the integration with the the Office Online suite and Apple/Android app support makes a very versatile and powerful solution - the document versioning is a great feature.

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

We moved NetDocs over to Chrome recently, and there were several bugs that caused frustration amongst the team at work that I had to resolve.

**Recommendations to others considering NetDocuments:**

It's a great system - but be aware there are some bugs that sometimes crop up that need care and effort to resolve.

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Document versioning plus secure and readily shareable spaces has created greater efficiencies in the firm.

  ### 17. NetDocuments

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 07, 2019

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

NetDocuments has a nice, intuitive interface.

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

Unable to drag and drop from the local computer to upload documents.

**Recommendations to others considering NetDocuments:**

Highly recommend.

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solve storing our company's documents in a secure manner.

  ### 18. New to Netdocs

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2019

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

I liked that you can upload over 100 files at a time.

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

The program is very slow when retrieving information.

**Recommendations to others considering NetDocuments:**

I would make sure that you understand what you will be using it for and ensure it will be beneficial.

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Netdocs is shared in my law firm for multiple parties to review important documents for their cases. I can’t log into Netdocs from my personal device due to the security of the documents we share.

  ### 19. Netdocs is a good document platform

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2019

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

I like that you can access the platform from really everywhere with any computer but just with your login information.

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

Sometimes the system is not reliable - it does not save the documents and/or get saved somewhere else. Also, it is hard to create new folders in the system and there are only few ways of organizing the documents. It would be nice to have a way to preview the documents without opening them.

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping documents in the cloud without having to save everything in individual computers.

  ### 20. Net Docs for Law Firm

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 29, 2018

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

I like that this helps eliminate paper waste by placing all documents into an electronic form and sorting it into subject folders so that users may somewhat easily find the documents in the specific matter needed. I also like that you can save a document or attachment from an email and save it directly to Net Docs with an add in through outlook.

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

ND needs more subfolders so that it is easier to specify a particular type of document or pleading. As it currently stands, there are just general/broad subject folders to place your particular document in. There is also not a calendar feature or a way to document deadlines or timelines for specific projects in a particular matter. It needs to be more like Time Matters in that way.

**Recommendations to others considering NetDocuments:**

It is similar to Time Matters, which still seems to be a bit more ahead of the curve than ND due to its other features, such as a calendar and diary function and ability to remind the user of deadlines etc.

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a paperless electronic storage cabinet for all paperwork, documents, photos, videos, and pleadings that are attributed to each case or matter. It is helping to eliminate unnecessary paper waste and create easy availability for documents electronically that can be easily accessed, printed or e-mailed to other users.

  ### 21. NetDocs Document Management System

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2018

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

NetDocs is the program I use the most as a legal professional. It allows me to sort and save emails, Word documents, Power Point Presentations, Excel spreadsheets, PDFs, photographs and more in an easily accessible and searchable database. I like being able to search by docket number and by client name. NetDocs is integrated with Outlook for easy saving.

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

The search feature for retrieving files or documents can be slow or hard to filter to get the desired results. There are also occasional glitches where a document says it's saved and checked in, but the recent changes to the document either don't save at all, or don't show up until hours later. Another downside is that it won't save zip files.

**Recommendations to others considering NetDocuments:**

One of my favorite features of NetDocs is the Outlook Add-In that allows me to save directly to client matter folders. I recommend customizing folders within the matters and updating your home page with favorites (documents and matters you refer to often) for easy access.

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest benefit of NetDocs is being able to work on and save documents and share them with co-workers. It only allows a document to be checked out to one person at a time, which eliminates the problem of multiple people saving multiple versions of the document and not knowing which one is the most recent or relevant. I like being able to easily transfer a document from one matter to another using the "edit profile" feature.

  ### 22. Gets the job done

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2019

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

The cloud is easy to access everywhere, even on a smartphone.

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

The program does not assign numbers for each document

**Recommendations to others considering NetDocuments:**

Good program.

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can access all documents in one cloud anywhere.

  ### 23. Document Management in the Cloud

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Renewables & Environment | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2018

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

I like the intuitive feature that NetDocs has when integrated with Outlook. It allows you to save emails with or without attachments and then will display whether you have already saved that particular email or document. Also, after saving documents to the same workspace multiple times, NetDocs begins to pick up on keywords and suggests the appropriate workspace to save your email to. This is a time-saver!

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

I'm not a fan of the user interface. I wish it would be more intuitive to create subfolders and see them when you first open up the DMS. Also, I frequently use the "recent documents" list and would like it to show more than 40 documents at a time.

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

NetDocs allows a company to store their documents offsite and by using a cloud interface. This saves space on a local hard drive and prevents issues from "crashing" or becoming full.

  ### 24. Good document management software

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2018

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

User friendly, easy to organize your files, works well with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

Sometimes searching for documents can be temperamental.

**Recommendations to others considering NetDocuments:**

You should just know that this is truly just a document management program.

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have found a new way to organize my client matters and documents.

  ### 25. Hard to Navigate, but great usefullness

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2018

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

I like that I can access my documents through the cloud based service.

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

I do not think its exactly user friendly and have found that the updates take a long time about every quarter often when I am using the program. But that may be just a bad coincidence.

**Recommendations to others considering NetDocuments:**

I would say this a great product for attorneys, but for real estate there are better more suited to the professional on the whole.

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to access important legal forms and real estate documents with out having to bring the physical version with me to a closing or a meeting.

  ### 26. Hit or Miss with People

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2018

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

My favorite things about NetDocuments is that 1) you can access your documents from any place with an internet connection. If you are snowed in at home or at home sick, you can easily work from home, and 2) there is an easy way to search for documents.

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

I am a big fan of this software, but like everything else there are a few downfalls. First of all, there needs to be a multi-level search function added. Also, I dislike the fact that you have to jump through hoops to get documents to do what you want. For example, at work I can click on a document and it opens for viewing/editing. At home, I click on a document and it downloads it, then I have to go through the process of uploading the changed document. Finally, it works with multiple pdf softwares, but there is currently no add-in for my pdf software (Nuance Power PDF Standard.)

**Recommendations to others considering NetDocuments:**

I truly believe NetDocuments is a great thing to consider for firms and other offices. You can protect information as well, but I personally do not have access in doing so. A lot of people I work with do not like NetDocuments, but I believe that is solely based on inexperience to softwares of this nature.

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The benefits are endless, as mentioned before you can work from anywhere. My boss needs to find a document on a weekend when I am not at work, I can easily search and find from my home computer, tablet, even phone and email directly to him.

  ### 27. Very good and more Versatile

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

The app works great and has been updated and improved a lot. Its very professional compared to its competitors

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

I dislike the limited font and edit integration

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me and fellow students and employees to write and publish documents for assignments and labs

  ### 28. Much better than our previous document management system

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2017

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

NetDocuments has an easy to use interface and a very small learning curve for new users switching from a different document management system. I particularly like that you can favorite frequently used documents and they will be added to your home screen when you login and you don't have to go searching for them each time.

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

If a document is currently being checked out by another user you can only open in a read-only mode. It would be nice if there were a way to edit the document and store those changes in a cache and then merge all changes when the current user has checked the document back in.

**Recommendations to others considering NetDocuments:**

It's definitely worth evaluating if you're looking to switch doc management systems.

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greater accessibility of our firm's documents both on and off site, and less time searching for documents in a convoluted file system.

  ### 29. Net Docs

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2017

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

organization is great, breaking down into categories for each case.

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

screen layout could be better, better layout making it easier to find document, more description.

**Recommendations to others considering NetDocuments:**

There are probably more shortcuts I don't know about and would like to learn.

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Makes finding documents faster with the search with * when you don't know title. Quicker to find documents using recent documents.

  ### 30. Digital Repository

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2018

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

I enjoy the privacy capabilities that allow for control over access to certain files and company data.

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

The "check-in" system could use enhancements

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a "paperless" office and this is a great secure filing cabinet that holds all company, client, and general information with easy navigation and access.

  ### 31. NetDocuments Review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Investment Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2017

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

Safe storage for sensitive documents and backup. Easy to organize different folders, and navigate between them.

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

I have a hard time utilizing NetDocuments in Internet explorer. I have better success with Google Chrome. The integration with Salesforce sometimes does not work properly.

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solving the problem of document backup and organization. Realized the value of having documents easily accessible.

  ### 32. Nice, Robust Platform . . . But Please Make It Mac-Compatible, Too

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa C. | Managing Partner - Chicago, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2016

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

NetDocs is a pretty intuitive, easy-to-use document repository system. The cabinet, folder, file system is cute and easily relatable to old timers. The ability to have preset folders and yet also allow the creation of subfolders at the user level is extremely helpful. We tax our admin folks enough . . .

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

Like so many business platforms, it is not compatible with Macs. So, a lot of the bells and whistles, like versioning within it, are not available.

**Recommendations to others considering NetDocuments:**

Consider whether you are solely a PC shop . . .

**What problems is NetDocuments solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is critical that we have a central document repository in a law firm. If something were to happen to one of us, another partner must be able to pick up the file and service the client. And it's equally important that the repository be accessible while we are traveling or onsite with a client. NetDocs accomplishes both by providing a secure SaaS-based platform.

  ### 33. Cloud-based doc management system with powerful search

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eugene C. | Partner, Venture Capital & Private Equity, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 02, 2012

**What do you like best about NetDocuments?**

Their powerful document search engine is the real compelling feature of this solution. It's also relatively easy to setup and easy to create a sharespace / client portal for separate clients using the system. Finally, the security features are robust enough even for regulatory standards and compliance.

**What do you dislike about NetDocuments?**

It's a crowded space (document management) and the per-user-pricing can add up, when compared to free solutions such as Google Drive

**Recommendations to others considering NetDocuments:**

There's a discount if you pay annually. Also, the basic edition is difficult to differentiate vs other options -- however, the professional editions have better security features. We're evaluating various document management systems for our small business and NetDocuments is definitely on our consideration list given the security features and searching functionality
