I like that NetBrain has reduced the amount of time that was spent creating maps by hand. The different types of maps, Layer 2, Layer 3, etc., are a great help to visualizing a complex network. A server-based automation system for network management, troubleshooting and swapping warranty, improve reliability and efficiency through a bigger workspace that supports up to 50,000 devices; also helps make better and faster decisions mainly by solving problems, maintaining and making network changes. The consequence of this is a representation of the network that users can access in real time. With the automated discovery feature, users have an excellent chance of discovering all of their network infrastructure, testing hundreds of varieties models and uploading their maps onto the website. I love the fact that I can do a live trace of networking paths. This is really helpful in doing short term debugging. We used it as a stop gap for the lack of network management in a given area of our network. The fact that it will auto draw the network into Visio is a very cool management demo! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about NetBrain Next-Gen? Way too complex. Looks easy at first plug in IPs of devices userID/password/SNMP info and go. Well not so much. Once the dveices are discovered the auto draw feature did not work so well. I had to manually change the map then the map became static and changes to the map typically did not go well. Once we did the Enterprise version the complexity was way off the charts. Tried the remote proxy server and other "functions" did not run.
