**What do you like best about NetBeans?**

It's very efficient in writing java code and helps in building a big project on java.
It has a lot of inbuilt shortcuts to declare class, variable and functions.
It helps to write tests and execute even a single test file, which is very efficient.
Its integration with other tools like selenium, git, etc added a plus factor to this IDE.

**What do you dislike about NetBeans?**

To set up the NetBeans and set the proper path in your machine is very painful for the first time.
It takes a lot of CPU RAM, so sometimes it slows down the machine
Code conversion to different languages is not supported by Netbeans.

**What problems is NetBeans solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To write the java code in an efficient way, Netbeans is the best IDE.
As it has integration with git, so it helps to run the git command on the IDE itself.
A lot of shortcuts helps us to write the code faster.

**What do you like best about NetBeans?**

NetBeans has a user interface that allows you to load multiple projects simultaneously. I like it because it supports multiple platforms like Windows or Mac, which are the ones I use the most. Also, there are quite a few examples of Java developments available. Another useful feature of NetBeans is that it can fix code errors automatically and even show possible solutions.

NetBeans has never let me down or made me think of switching to some alternative software, so I appreciate the development that this software has gone through and is constantly going through.

The installation sometimes does take a little more time.
Installation package should be more smaller if it can be.

The download page of NetBeans can be a little more neater or you can say, organized.

NetBeans helps to develop, integrate and edit a piece of application and it's code.
For small application projects, it determines the errors and helps to fix them easily so NetBeans has always helped me develop something but also keep learning from my mistakes.

  ### 21. It is very easy to design interfaces using Swing GUI design tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** L.M. J. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2020

**What do you like best about NetBeans?**

The most interesting feature that I have found with NetBeans is the support given to build interfaces with Swing GUI design tool. I only had to design the interface by drag and dropping the required items to the GUI designer while all the code was automatically generated by the idea. With this feature it saved lot of development time. It is really helpful when you are working in an agile based development environment.

**What do you dislike about NetBeans?**

Earlier in my career I was using NetBeans as the idea. At the begining I found it is really interesting but when I started with IntelliJ and Eclipse I found that the auto completion feature is not much helpful when compared to the other two ideas. Other than that another special thing I noticed is that NetBeans do not support much pluging when compared to Eclipse and IntelliJ. As a result of these NetBeans will face lot of difficulties in retaining their customer base.

**Recommendations to others considering NetBeans:**

If you are wondering for a idea to develop frontends within a short time then NetBeans is the best solution according to my point of view.

**What problems is NetBeans solving and how is that benefiting you?**

During my final year project I had to develop a Java application which contain both front and back ends. First I developed the backend using IntelliJ. At that time I had no idea about the front end development. After completing the backend I thought of developing front end with Swing, but it was really difficult task with Intellij. Then one of my friends suggested me to use NetBeans. Actually NetBeans was ideal for that task. It was really easy for me to complete my frontend with the help of NetBeans. I only had to drag and drop the items to the front end designer where all the code was automatically written by the idea.

  ### 22. Good IDE for Application development

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kamaldev K. | Senior Software Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2019

**What do you like best about NetBeans?**

GUI has good user interface. Easy to generate doxygen file. Easy to integrate static code analysis tools like Klockworks. Easy to integrate with DLL write in native unsafe code(C - JNI). Very good IDE for JSP solution development. Available in windows , Linux platforms. Same IDE can used to develop project for C, C++ and Java.

**What do you dislike about NetBeans?**

Not very happy with speed and CPU usage. No built-in static code validation feature. Not recommencement for application development in C / C++. Cross compilation options are very limited.

**Recommendations to others considering NetBeans:**

Good for Java application development. Not recommended for C/C++

**What problems is NetBeans solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is very Easy to install as package with Java is available. This help to install easily in client location and resolve the issue. Sample projects were available for Java native interface. Same IDE can be used to develop application for different programming languages like C/java. This feature is very helpful in debugging with native interface.

  ### 23. I use this IDE to store and edit my coding. The search function could use some improving.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 08, 2020

**What do you like best about NetBeans?**

It is an easy workspace to use when writing and editing my javascript code.

**What do you dislike about NetBeans?**

The search function only works if you have the whole word spelled out with all of the capitalization correct as well. It would be nice it the search function could search for partial words and ignored capitalization or not.

**Recommendations to others considering NetBeans:**

Works great to keep all of your coding in one place while being able to edit when needed.

**What problems is NetBeans solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to write and edit my code in this IDE. This also acts as a backup for my scripts so if i ever need to go back i can.

  ### 24. Development with NetBeans

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tulga O. | Senior Software Engineer / Technical Lead, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2019

**What do you like best about NetBeans?**

From all other IDEs I prefer using NetBeans. People say it is old and legacy but I used to it, it does it's work good enough. Actually I use Netbeans when I work with PHP projects. So maybe it is good with the old languages not the quite new era languages or developments environments like Angular, React. I use many features of NetBeans like code completion, code templates, debugging, code upload via ftp etc. I also write HTML, Javascript codes too using NetBeans and it is pretty handy for me. I like to configure my IDE and editors my way, especially code templates and shortcuts then I can work productive.

**What do you dislike about NetBeans?**

NetBeans becomes slow sometimes when opening the projects because of it's indexing process. It frustrates me. But I face this kind of slowness even with the latest, best IDE IntelliJ too. IDEs are always huge and bunch of processes required to run in the background. So for small or front-end javascript projects I prefer to use editors like VSCode.

**Recommendations to others considering NetBeans:**

It is good and very stable IDE with big community and long history. There are also good plugins too if you want to extend it.

**What problems is NetBeans solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is reliable and I used to it so I can be productive. I find it very handy when I working with big PHP frameworks. It gives me whole information about structure, creation, origin of the objects and classes. It is the best part of the IDE. NetBeans does this very good and fast.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erika karina P. | degree in computer science, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 12, 2019

**What do you like best about NetBeans?**

In particular, I like NetBeans since I am a Java and PHP programmer. I have to make and revise code in these two programming languages, and although I have tried other text editors, with NetBeans I have everything I need for both languages. This tool is very predictive of the languages that I use, and it is very extensible with a large number of plugins that have to be installed. Despite having so many qualities, it is very simple to install, and all this comes out totally free. You do not have to pay a license to use it commercially, and no annoying advertising appears on NetBeans.

**What do you dislike about NetBeans?**

I dislike NetBeans because as you add new plugins, the performance noticeably slows down, especially with large projects containing many files and lines of code. It takes too long to launch the application, and sometimes it even hangs, forcing me to restart it. This isn't too serious, but it annoys me.

**Recommendations to others considering NetBeans:**

if you are a person who wants a text editor for the Java language, NetBeans is the best you can install to carry out your projects in this programming language. It is complete, easy, with a good interface, and it is completely free. The only thing you have to keep in mind is if your machine is 64-bit, as I have seen that with 32-bit it does not work as perfectly.

**What problems is NetBeans solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use NetBeans mainly to work with Java, and it is a good option for PHP, although there may be better options for this last language. However, one of the best benefits it gives me is that it is excellent for integration with third-party software like GIT, and this is a great benefit, especially for updating code collaboratively.

  ### 47. My thoughts about NetBeans.

Problems in code execution time and start time when they are high complexity and too heavy. It’s very heavyweight, has a lot of plugins, and some of them we never need them. and the debugger is really slow.

**Recommendations to others considering NetBeans:**

Good for Beginners to try this IDE and it is easy to use for beginners as well.

**What do you like best about NetBeans?**

NetBeans empowers smooth and quick code altering. The code manager gives integral assets, code layouts, code generators, and coding tips that empower designers to refactor code effectively. It bolsters different dialects and can without much of a stretch be stretched out by means of modules to encourage additional usefulness.

**What do you dislike about NetBeans?**

NetBeans is very slow IDE. It takes a lot of time to load and also occupies a lot of memory. so when we use NetBeans we can not able to use any other tool or software in parallel .

**Recommendations to others considering NetBeans:**

If you looking for a good java app development IDE, then its my recommendation to use this IDE. It is very reliable and user friendly. it takes few days to have hand on this tool but once you start using it. you will become addicted to this IDE and you din't like any other environment for development. and if your laptop ot system have very less space or memory then dont use this as it takes a lot of space and it decrease the performace of your system, and in case if you want to use another tool or application in parallel then you may loss your motherboard. so use as per your computer configurations else use any other IDE for better performance and laptop safety.

**What problems is NetBeans solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me to close my code braces properly as earlier they were lead to breakage of code and failed during compilation..

Ask for many resources at the machine level for its execution or installation

**Recommendations to others considering NetBeans:**

Taking advantage of the benefits that Netbeans has over other IDEs, its stability, efficiency and security make it a very used product, both commercially and individually.

**What problems is NetBeans solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In my experience with Netbeans is a good development IDE, has a friendly interface, is optimal, efficient and secure, is compatible with other platforms such as Javascript, HTML, MySQL, SQL Server, among others.
