The simplest HMRC-recognised Making Tax Digital software for sole traders and landlords. Free for the 2026-27, then just £19.99/year. Affordable MTD is Making Tax Digital software designed for sole traders and landlords who need to submit quarterly updates to HMRC. The platform functions as bridging software, allowing users to maintain their existing record-keeping methods while submitting data digitally. Users can input figures directly or import spreadsheets, with AI categorizing transactions into HMRC expense categories for review. The software ensures data privacy, never sharing or using financial data for AI training. The platform connects securely via the Government Gateway and tracks deadlines while logging submissions with timestamps to provide an audit-ready record. Affordable MTD supports both self-employment and UK property income in one tool. The AI flags errors and identifies missed deductions to streamline the filing process. The software does not require bank account connections.
