"Effortless Membership Management, Needs Better Survey Tools"
4/5
What do you like best about Neon CRM?

I really appreciate the membership feature in Neon CRM because it allows our annual members to manage their own accounts, which is super helpful. It simplifies the process beyond just dealing with donations by check. Also, the email feature is really convenient for us; my boss and I can work on an email campaign simultaneously, which makes managing email audiences pretty easy and straightforward. We use the email features a lot for membership campaigns and regular newsletters. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Neon CRM?

I think surveys and forms can be improved. I think it's a maybe forgotten feature that we're using right now for our bike safety quiz mini grants program. And, unfortunately, the survey leaves a bit to be desired. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Marketing Admin of Neon CRM

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are thrilled to hear that the self-service member portal and our collaborative email tools are helping you and your boss save time and stay organized.

We also appreciate your feedback regarding the survey features you're using for your bike safety quiz mini-grants program. Your insight is incredibly valuable. We've passed this feedback along directly to our Product team as they work on ongoing feature enhancements.

We are grateful to partner with you to help drive growth and support your community!

"Efficient for Donations and Newsletters, But Event Module Needs Improvement"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Neon CRM?

Creating constituent records in Neon is both straightforward and efficient, and entering donations is just as simple.

I also appreciate the ability to design our monthly newsletter and eblasts, choose an audience, send them out, and then review the analytics afterward.

The Notes section is particularly useful for attaching copies of checks, invoices, profiles, articles, or letters for easy reference in the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Neon CRM?

The event module feels somewhat clunky, especially when generating a guest report, as both registrants and attendees appear together. This means you have to manually sort through and delete entries to create an accurate guest list. Additionally, when uploading an image for an event, you need to be familiar with sizing JPEGs correctly; otherwise, only part of the image will display.

Another limitation is the absence of a "spouse" field on constituent records, which makes it impossible to add a spouse’s information—something users of Raisers Edge might expect. It would also be helpful to have the option to store more than one address for a constituent, such as both work and home addresses.

Reporting - I am looking forward to the new Reporting roll-out and am eager to see what improvements are made. The reporting feature used to be quite straightforward, but recent changes have made it more complicated. Aso, note that when doing eblasts that the only downfall is that you can't select more than one "type" of audience to send something to and have to do more than one email. (Sending an eblast to government officials, donors, grant funders as the selected audiences, isn't going to happen. Has to be done one at a time, so creating multiple copies of the eblast with unique audiences.) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Nick Zmudzinski of Neon CRM

Thank you for sharing your thoughtful feedback! We are glad to hear that our constituent management and email marketing tools are helping streamline your day-to-day work. We have also noted your suggestions regarding the event module and audience lists. Regarding the reporting updates you are looking forward to, we are excited to share that the upcoming redesign will feature a clearer report builder, over 1,000 new field options, and the ability to queue large reports in the background. We can't wait for you to see the improvements!

"Steep Learning Curve and Confusing Terminology Despite Solid Neon Integration"
1.5/5
What do you like best about Neon CRM?

It integrates well with the other Neon products. The UX/UI is fairly easy to use overall, and searches are fairly quick. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Neon CRM?

The learning curve is very steep. The terminology and language feel different from other tools I’ve used. I’ve also run into several cases where the same output can be changed by fields that have different names, which makes it harder to know which one to use. Support has been responsive (1-3 hours) but very often incorrect. Their solutions are not solving problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Marketing Admin of Neon CRM

Hi there, thank you for sharing such detailed feedback with us. We're glad the fast search speeds and product integrations are helping your workflow, but it’s clear we’ve missed the mark regarding your support experience and the learning curve.

Providing value and leading with care are core principles for us, and it’s disappointing to hear that our recent solutions haven’t effectively solved your problems. We want to make sure your team can focus entirely on fundraising rather than struggling with the tool.

To help us make this right, please email support@neonone.com with your name and organization. We would like to look into your specific cases immediately to ensure you're getting the accurate, helpful guidance that you need.

"NeonCRM has made our fundraising efforts easy and efficient!"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Neon CRM?

The customer support team that onboarded us was truly amazing to work with. The database and reporting system is very easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Neon CRM?

Sometimes when I am setting up a new report, I can't get all the available columns that I might need in a report, but then I am able to find a workaround. Neon CRM is a robust system to work with, overall. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Beau Mourer of Neon CRM

Hey Julia, thank you for your review! Switching from excel to a CRM can be scary, but it's amazing to hear that you had a great experience! Thanks again :)

"Intuitive, All-in-One Solution That Streamlined Our Workflow"
5/5
What do you like best about Neon CRM?

Neon CRM is both intuitive and user-friendly, yet it remains a robust platform. By combining donor management, memberships, events, email, and reporting into a single system, it has made our workflow much more efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Neon CRM?

Certain advanced reporting and workflow features present a learning curve and may require some time to master. Although the system is quite user-friendly for everyday tasks, setting up more complex configurations can occasionally demand extra support or some trial and error. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Nick Zmudzinski of Neon CRM

Thank you for the detailed review! It is great to hear that automating routine tasks has improved your data accuracy and allowed your team to focus more on stewardship and your mission. We appreciate your feedback regarding the learning curve for advanced reporting and are continuously working to make these tools more accessible, so please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team for assistance!

"Neon CRM: Intuitive, All-in-One Platform that Promotes Growth + Efficiency"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Neon CRM?

Neon CRM combines some of the best aspects of other softwares or apps (such as sending newsletters, running reports, making volunteer forms, setting reminders, etc.) and pulls them all into one, intuitive-to-use, secure space. It is easy enough to onboard interns in a short amount of time and ever-evolving in ways that give us room to grow and become more efficient as an organization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Neon CRM?

There are parts of Neon that can feel clunky on the front end for users, such as purchasing tickets for events, but for the most part, it is a great tool across the board! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Nick Zmudzinski of Neon CRM

Hi there! We’re so glad Neon One is helping your team grow your impact and become more efficient by keeping your donor and volunteer interactions in one secure space. We appreciate your feedback about the user interface, we are constantly evolving, and feedback like yours is essential as we work to streamline those front-end user experiences. Thank you for being part of our community and for the vital work you do!

"Dynamic, Well-Designed System That Keeps Surprising Me"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Neon CRM?

I still consider myself a relatively new client and I am still learning, and as I continue to get to know the system better and better, I keep finding new ways that are already in the system that I can use to my benefit and advantage. The whole system seems to be very well thought out. It seems like they really looked at the needs of many clients with many different needs and they are focused on accommodating all of them! The system is very rich and very dynamic! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Neon CRM?

I am a relatively new user and I haven't found much I don't like at this point. Sometimes I don't feel like I can see the bigger picture of everything the system can do. One thing that has been a little challenging is when I am filling out a form and there is a drop down, sometimes there is nothing in the drop down, so I know I need to add things to the drop down, but I have to do some searching to find out where I can add those items. It's not very intuitive and it does not tell me where I need to go to add those items in. I can usually find them, though. It just takes some time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Nick Zmudzinski of Neon CRM

Thank you for the fantastic review! We are so pleased to hear that Neon CRM is a well-designed system that keeps surprising you with new ways to benefit your work. It's incredibly rewarding to know that we are helping your organization by bringing all your scattered data into one central place and giving you real-time access to valuable information. We understand your point about finding where to edit those dropdown lists and are continually working to make all aspects of the system more intuitive for new users! We'd love for you to share product suggestions in our feedback portal at feedback.neonone.com.

"Comprehensive Association Management"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Neon CRM?

I have been using Neon since late 2019 for our 501(c)(6) small national organization. The implementation process was excellent, and I felt like our rep was responsive and knowledgeable. Additionally, when we have had issues or questions, either our rep or the ticketing system has always been there!

My absolute favorite feature is the robust reporting. You can build your own reports, including MANY parameters to search by and which data are included in the output. You can save reports and schedule them to be delivered to you or someone else. You can publish them (password protected or not) to a URL, which has allowed me to build custom reports for different committees, then give them access to the reports, so I don't have to pull the report, download it, then email it to the committee chairs every time they'd like to check in on how their committee is doing. Huge time saver!

The other huge time saver is Workflows. I mean, WOW. We use these automations to approve or deny membership applications, assign regions, and send automated new member notifications to those who need to know.

The event registration feature has been very helpful, we love the Account Notes feature, and it's been amazing to send out a survey whose responses fill members' profiles! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Neon CRM?

We're having some trouble with "duplicate accounts," as a Company account and an Individual account is created for every member. This causes difficulty for the members (when they login to the "wrong" account, they do not have an active membership), as well as obfuscating how long someone has been a member, as they might renew on the Individual account one year and the Company account the next, so complete membership records are divided between two accounts. We have determined most of the problem, but part of it is that the renewal funnel is confusing to members, so they will add themselves as a sub-member, which creates the duplicate Individual account.

You cannot (1) send invoices for members to pay within NeonCRM, so we are using a 3rd-party solution for that. Nor can you (2) make a credit card surcharge mandatory. It's just not an option. We also wish we could (3) use the new events module, but we are "stuck" on the "legacy events" because it makes zero fiscal sense for us to switch to NeonPay (WAY more expensive than our current processor, even if without surcharging), but I feel like we are missing out on features and that Neon is trying to strong-arm or nickle-and-dime ($199 monthly 3rd-party processor fee) us into switching to NeonPay. It's childish. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Beau Mourer of Neon CRM

Hey Linden, thank you so much for the comprehensive review! I'm amazing to hear how your org has taken advantage of our reporting and analytics, workflows, and events modules to save your team time. Thanks again for the review :)

"Streamlines Grant Management, Easy to Use"
5/5
What do you like best about Neon CRM?

I use the moves management feature the most to track grants I apply for on behalf of my agency. It solves miscommunication and also saves time in planning our fund development efforts. I love the drag to attach files feature and how easy to use the entire interface is. It's so easy! The initial setup of Neon CRM was super easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Neon CRM?

I wish it was easy to assign 2 users to a single grant. My team and I often work together on grants, so it would be nice to see on both sides when filtering by user. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Nick Zmudzinski of Neon CRM

We’re thrilled that our Moves Management and intuitive interface are helping you save time and solve miscommunication during your fund development planning. We hear you on the need for easier collaboration, and we’ve shared your feedback about assigning multiple users to a grant with our product team. It’s wonderful to know Neon CRM has been so easy for your org to navigate since day one!

"Great Customer Service, Perfect for Small Non-Profits"
5/5
What do you like best about Neon CRM?

I use Neon CRM for our small non-profit, and it helps us create events, build our website, and provides support for running an NGO. Their customer service is great, especially for someone like me who is not very tech-savvy. They work with you and make it easy to make changes. Neon One made it very easy to set up, and their web design team facilitated the switch seamlessly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Neon CRM?

I find it difficult to collaborate with QuickBooks. I need to study that more. I also need to check out how to collaborate with Mailchimp. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Nick Zmudzinski of Neon CRM

We're so glad our team could make your website switch feel seamless and that our event tools are helping you manage your daily operations! It’s wonderful to hear you feel supported, even if technology isn’t your favorite subject. We know mastering integrations like QuickBooks takes a little extra practice, so please reach out to our Support team if you’d like a hand getting those connections humming. We’re truly honored to support the important work your nonprofit is doing!
