What I like best about Navan is that it combines travel booking, corporate card expenses, reimbursements, and approvals in one platform. The interface is straightforward for employees, managers, and administrators, making it easy to upload receipts, add business purposes, review transactions, and monitor approval or reimbursement status. From an administrative perspective, the dashboards provide clear visibility into pending items, which helps our team follow up on missing documentation and complete month-end reviews more efficiently. I also find the AI assistance especially useful. When we request additional information from an employee, Navan can identify what may be missing and provide helpful insights, making the review process faster and more consistent. Overall, Navan improves policy compliance, reduces manual tracking, and saves time for employees, managers, and the finance team. Given the breadth of its features, reliable performance, reporting capabilities, integrations, and support resources, we feel that we are getting strong value for our investment. When we filter or generate reports for transactions that are pending manager approval, the results sometimes also include transactions that have already moved to the Admin or Accounting review stage. This makes it difficult to identify which items are truly awaiting manager action and may lead to unnecessary follow-ups. It would also be very helpful if the report showed exactly where each transaction is pending, including the name of the specific employee, manager, or administrator responsible for the next action, rather than displaying only a general status such as “Pending Approval.” Clear, mutually exclusive workflow statuses and more detailed filters by approver, department, transaction age, and review stage would make the reporting much more reliable and efficient. Navan is helping us manage business travel and expenses more consistently by allowing us to integrate our company travel and expense policies directly into the platform. Its dynamic pricing feature helps establish reasonable spending limits based on current market rates, rather than relying on fixed thresholds that may not reflect actual travel costs. This makes it easier for employees to understand what is within policy while booking, and it allows our finance team to quickly identify and track out-of-policy spending. I use Navan (Formerly TripActions) for all our business trip needs, including flights, trains, rental cars, and hotels. I like how all costs are consolidated into one tool, making it easy to track expenses globally by cost center, department, or region. The prices are better in some cases, which is a plus. I find the Report tab particularly useful, as it allows me to easily analyze data based on our needs, such as specific countries, hotels, flights, and other parameters. Invoices like better to add VAT deductible invoices for hotels, better to have €12 fees with the main receipt and not to get this after 7-10 days so users are lost what is this fee. Multi-city booking prices are currently more than thrice sometimes, and this is not good. I like Navan (Formerly TripActions) for its easy-to-use functionality and dedication to making product upgrades. It effectively routes all of our employees to a single expense platform where they can book business travel and submit their expense documentation. Navan also provides our financial department with useful analytics to help drive the business. Being able to book travel and issue employee physical cards is a significant benefit as well. What do you dislike about Navan (Formerly TripActions)? My main frustration is the number of compatibility issues we continue to run into. Even though we are heavy users of the platform, it often feels like we’re the first ones to raise many of the problems we’ve encountered. I understand that no system is perfect, but I’m surprised these issues weren’t already on their radar and that the needed improvements don’t seem to be in the pipeline. Many of our concerns center around problems on the Navan Connect side. Information does not always come over complete from our credit card feed. Statements are missing what Navan calls "office" (location); p-cards do not have all information available (plus managers cannot approve p-card transactions); and there is very little visibility for managers for unapproved transactions under the "info requested" and "awaiting repayment" categories. Also, repayments using credit cards can only be handled using one legal entity (we have about 20). Many other issues in addition to these that we are working through. Navan seems to have more functionality compared to the previous travel provider we used. It feels like more of a tech-first enabled platform. Somewhat user-friendly from an end-user experience standpoint (in terms of booking travel). Some useful controls and policy limits you can set to manage travel spend. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Navan (Formerly TripActions)? The overall implementation with Navan was quite difficult. They didn't take the proper time to understand the complexity of our business and how Navan should fit within that. They seemed to want to quickly get the implementation over with quickly based on their pre-conceived ideas, and we were overly led by them instead of them trying to understand how we operate. We ended up being pushed into a go live and having payment problems where the wrong legal entities were charged, creating a mess that could have been avoided if they took more time to understand our business properly and have the correct bank account setup from the get-go. Other examples: we were asked to provide the personal details of senior individuals for KYC purposes (e.g. their email addresses) and were repeatedly assured there would be no impact or involvement of them beyond that. Lo and behold those individuals (plus myself) then started getting bombarded by relentless invoice and statement emails when they shouldn't have been because they were set up as 'account owners' in the platform. This was incredibly annoying and took far too long to fix which ended up highlighting both system limitations (e.g. can't use our general AP mailbox address to send invoices to, which is our standard way of operating, instead they need a specific named individuals which was problematic) and poor customer service to have been put in that position and then unable to address it quickly whilst they were pissing off senior people in the business with these emails. As a result, I can't recommend Navan as a partner for large complex enterprises based on my experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Navan is the most user-friendly T&E platform my company has used, and we have tried several! From booking a flight and hotel to paying for meals while traveling, the entire process is easy to follow and complete. Entering transactions for normal expenses to be reimbursed could not be simpler and quicker! Because our company has several different business units, each with its own departments, GL codes, and other requirements, keeping up with travel and expenses used to be a nightmare. With Navan, everything is centralized, and users are assigned to the correct business unit, so we can easily pull separate reports for each one. I find the UI of Navan (Formerly TripActions) clean, logical, and easy to navigate. I also appreciate the agent assistance, as they have been helpful in rebooking me during travel delays. Setting Navan up was easy for my team, and it serves as a single point for employees to book travel and submit expenses. What do you dislike about Navan (Formerly TripActions)? Some of the backend reporting in terms of syncing accounting data to our ERP could be improved. It would be helpful to allow for an automate accrual for unreviewed spend to be stances over as a reversing journal entry so we don’t need to manually accrue. Also for approved reimbursements, the only amounts that sync over are those that were paid to the employee, but those that are unpaid but approved do not sync to Netsuite. The new analytics reports are not user friendly at all and they can sometime create more problems then solve, because you don't have the knowledge behind to understand what option to use best to get the correct info. You need to spend quite some time to understand them and without someone from the developing team guides you through this it would be quite a challenge to understand the process by yourself. Also the integration with the Navan partners is not good. This might be also coming from the partners, but the information is not completely and accurately transmitted into Navan, and this creates a lot of manual work and also not very reliable work. I think the reports need to be extended to cover a global network for clients that operate across the glob. I feel that if you are a smaller company with business in just a few countries the reports work, but for a global business, where partners are also involved, thing can get tricky. One thing I really like is how you can earn personal rewards if you choose lower priced hotel options. You still earn your hotel rewards, but you also get Navan rewards as well that you can spend on personal travel. Compared to our old booking software, Navan is easy to navigate and intuitive to use. I like how it can clearly link all modes of travel into a single itinerary for a traveler (flight, hotel, cars, etc). Support feature has also been incredibly helpful dealing with airlines and gives quick access to back end support. Searches can time out, pages can freeze or load slowly, information can change rapidly or errors can occur.
