What do you like best about Namely?

We can send documents for employees to sign Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Namely?

There is NO customer service. NO way to get a hold of anyone. You have to 'submit a case' through 'Client Space', then wait 3-4 days for your question to be assigned to an agent and THEN it takes a few more days to get an answer. Plus when they answer they CLOSE the case and usually your question wasn't answered! It is the worst I have ever seen. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Vienna Stivala of Namely

Thank you for your review! We really appreciate your feedback and are happy to hear that your employees enjoy using our platform. As for your data during implementation, we thank you for bringing the issue to our attention. We looked into the incident by identifying who was on your implementation team and confirmed that the issue was resolved swiftly before any data had the opportunity to be breached. At Namely, data security is an absolute top priority. Again, we truly apologize and are happy to hear that your experience since then has been positive.

What do you like best about Namely?

It is not as clunky as other HRIS', more modern look/feel than others, and open API Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Namely?

Namely has gone tremendously downhill the last year. Ive been a user of Namely since 2017, and with their recent acquisition, everything from support to overall functionality has left us in search of another platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Layne Langford of Namely

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback, Erin. We genuinely appreciate your loyalty and valuable insights into your experience with Namely. While we're delighted to hear that you've found certain aspects of our platform beneficial, such as our modern interface, open API, and support for managing both US and Canadian employees, we're disheartened to learn about your recent dissatisfaction. Please accept our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience or frustration this may have caused you.

At Namely, we strive to provide a seamless and satisfying experience for all our users. We are fully committed to addressing your concerns and rectifying any issues you've encountered. "Poor support, UI keep getting worse"
1.5/5
What do you like best about Namely?

Namely has all the functionality you would expect of a core HR system for a mid-sized business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Namely?

Namely has none of the support you would expect for a mid-sized business. You get a different support person on every single ticket,a nd there is no consistency in response times or quality of response. Their turnover is incredible.

Also, the UI keeps getting worse and worse as they introduce features without configurability. The visual clutter is enormous, and there are several very unintuitive steps to completing elementary tasks.

Their payroll setup is a complete disaster that we are still fixing 18 months later and they are accepting zero responsibility for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Very limited"
2.5/5
What do you like best about Namely?

It's a simple HRIS, very focused on the US environments, so if yu have a company with different countries, laws and procedures, maybe it won't work. But for a US company, you can have payroll, calendar and documentation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Namely?

If you have a global company, with different countries, nationalities, laws, procedures and documentation, maybe it won't work. You can only add one payroll, and sync with one environment. There are some features very simple and other with a lot of clics. It's not very intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Namely is not for small businesses"
1/5
What do you like best about Namely?

The customer service is pretty good. People are generally within reach when you need them. The only positive aspect of working with Namely over the past year was having good service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Namely?

The technology is dreadful. I don't even know where to start with this. Implementation was an absolute disaster working with what seemed like at least six people. I almost canceled our contract at that point, and in hindsight, I should have. We finally did get on the right track by having one dedicated person to speak with. But once you use it, it doesn't get any better. Reports are hard to generate. Everything is disconnected. It feels like it's six different systems mashed together into one. I should have known this is likely why their service is good; they need more people to compensate for how bad their technology is. Also, to my point of saying they're not small business friendly - keep in mind that they will NOT work with you if you have a reduction in headcount throughout the year. We're in the mortgage business, and it has been a challenging twelve months. I asked for some relief on our monthly bill but was ignored. Oh, and to make it even worse - we just had amendments filed for state taxes on an employee for several quarters, and they're trying to charge us $2,500 for it, despite us paying extra for Managed Payroll! I could probably go on for another couple of paragraphs about my bad experience with Namely, but I will save you all the reading time. Just go with a different provider; we are switching to Rippling, which has been fantastic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
