"Simple setup and versatile management with a wide range of features"
4.5/5
What do you like best about NAKIVO Backup & Replication?

Nakivo Backup is very easy to set up. I particularly appreciate the ability to use the software on different platforms while having centralized, unified management across multiple machines. The range of features is impressive: With Nakivo Backup, you have a central solution to back up both virtual machines (on different host environments), physical servers and workstations, as well as M365 accounts. What do you dislike about NAKIVO Backup & Replication?

Unfortunately, you cannot directly edit LXC containers without equipping them with an agent. With deduplicating backups, quite large container files are created and modified. This makes an offsite copy via rsync quite slow with larger amounts of data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about NAKIVO Backup & Replication?

Simple and functional, easy to use, unbeatable value Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NAKIVO Backup & Replication?

Restores on other servers are performed via iSCSI, which involves creating volumes on the server. This process is somewhat opaque. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to use with excellent value for money"
5/5
What do you like best about NAKIVO Backup & Replication?

I use NAKIVO Backup & Replication for a reliable infrastructure of backups and recoveries. The tool is super easy to use and offers good security for data protection. The ease of use is relatively well-suited for everyone. I primarily use it for Microsoft 365 because it is just super easy to use, and I also back up two servers with it. The setup of NAKIVO Backup & Replication was very easy. The price-performance ratio is also acceptable for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NAKIVO Backup & Replication?

One does have a trial version, but it can only be used in a limited way in a corporate environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to use, robust, cost- effective"
4.5/5
What do you like best about NAKIVO Backup & Replication?

Our company has used Nakivo as its backup solution for over seven years. From the beginning, I have appreciated how simple and intuitive the software is. I have rarely needed to refer to the documentation when performing basic backup or restore operations. The online help for advanced features is well-organized and descriptive. Support for Microsoft 365 and Proxmox are among the most important features added over the years. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NAKIVO Backup & Replication?

- Backup to tape is slower than other available solutions, which is why it is not a viable option for us.

- There were a couple of minor glitches, but they weren't significant enough to contact support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple and UI Friendly Server Backup"
4.5/5
What do you like best about NAKIVO Backup & Replication?

I’ve been using Nakivo Backup & Replication installed on a Linux server, with backup storage pointed to a TrueNAS Scale system, and it’s been solid.

One of the things I really like is how lightweight and efficient it is, it doesn’t chew up resources, and it’s quick to set up.

I use it to back up two Windows servers, and it’s been rock solid. Backups run consistently without any issues or slowdown.

The web interface is straightforward and easy to work with, and I’ve got plenty of control over how and when backups run.

Pointing the storage to my TrueNAS Scale setup has been a good move too, it connects without any hassle and gives me peace of mind knowing everything’s stored safely and easy to get to if needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NAKIVO Backup & Replication?

The only issue I had so far was when installing the agent on one of the servers. The initial install failed, however I managed to get around this by investigating the install script as it was running and fixing the dependency it installs before hand (was a Microsoft redistributable package ). "Simple, Smart, and Fast, The best Backup Solution we worked with"
5/5
What do you like best about NAKIVO Backup & Replication?

Nakivo Backup & Replication is extremely intuitive with a great workflow that makes backups simple to manage. It’s also very smart—if a Transporter isn’t available during a job, the system recovers automatically without manual input. I really like the distributed architecture, where multiple transporters act as a pool to handle backup, compression, encryption, and recovery tasks efficiently.

Scheduling is flexible and easy to set up, with support for multiple schedules on the same job. Licensing is straightforward, affordable, and “set and forget” with no hidden complexities. The Flash Boot for VMware feature is a true lifesaver—being able to spin up a temporary VM directly from the backup files within seconds has saved us in critical moments. Backup lifecycle and retention are also very intuitive and reliable.

Lastly, Nakivo’s support team has been excellent—knowledgeable, responsive, and proactive in helping us design strategies that fit our environment perfectly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NAKIVO Backup & Replication?

I’d like to see a dynamic search function on the Jobs page to make it easier to quickly filter through multiple backup jobs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple, Reliable and Cost-Effective Data Protection"
5/5
What do you like best about NAKIVO Backup & Replication?

I really like how easy it is to deploy and use. Nakivo supports a wide range of environments (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, Proxmox, physical servers, Microsoft 365, NAS, and multiple clouds), and the 24/7 support is excellent without the high costs you usually see with other vendors. It delivers great value for money. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NAKIVO Backup & Replication?

The platform is very solid, but some advanced features like disaster recovery and monitoring could benefit from more detailed reporting and customizable dashboards. That said, Nakivo updates frequently and keeps improving with each release. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Nakivo Backup and Replication for multiple VM Platforms"
5/5
What do you like best about NAKIVO Backup & Replication?

I installed the Synology DSM application for Nakivo. Using their agents we are backing up Nutanix VMs, vSphere VMs and a standalone Windows server. In addition our backups are being replicated to Wasabi for additional immutable offsite storage.

The configuration was pretty straightforward and so far the system just works. We previously used a Unitrends Recovery appliance but switched to Nakivo when our renewal pricing skyrocketed. I haven't a lot of support, but when I have reached out the responses have been fairly quick and effective. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NAKIVO Backup & Replication?

The only issue I've had was using the Synology native app requires waiting for the latest version to hit that platform's release. I had downloaded the latest Nutanix Transporter only to find it didn't work with the prior version manager on Synology. There is no option to download the latest Synology app direct from Nakivo. A minor inconvenience to a solid product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Straightforward reliable backup"
5/5
What do you like best about NAKIVO Backup & Replication?

Nakivo pretty much just works - the initial installation is very straightforward compared to the competition, with configuration after installation being via web interface and no need to dig for settings. I had everything up and running performing backup of all my hosts plus two NAS units within an hour or two. Optimising everything took another day or two once I clearly understood the exact way that Nakivo operates, and since then, everything has been performing well. Backups run every day on schedule and I don't worry about anything being missed. The restore process is also straightforward (including generating boot media for physical hosts), which I appreciate. I found it easy to integrate with everything needed. I did validate a few configuration options with customer support during the first few days of operation just to make sure I had understood the documentation correctly and I received prompt, helpful and courteous replies that provide a lot of confidence in Nakivo. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NAKIVO Backup & Replication?

My only dislike is that it's not possible (as far as I can tell) to skip backup up the swap/hibernation file on Windows physical hosts, which results in some needlessly large backups. But storage is cheap, so this isn't a huge problem. Otherwise, everything works well! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
