Easy to plug and play with devices and edit the assets. Multiple reports make it easy to fine tune driver bad behaviors and train them to be safe out on the roads **What do you dislike about Geotab?** Dislike some of the reports that can't be opened in an Excel spreadsheet, only PDF or browser, and unable to edit/hide unwanted columns. Dash Camera's can be overly sensitive to distractive driving and not wearing a seatbelt when driver is wearing a safety vest. **What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm not aware of any issues or problems that Geotab is currently solving. I also dislike that you cannot edit the main Pre, In, and Post trips to accommodate for your business. I don't like that you need to have an ad on company to allow you to properly use the Pre and Post trip to add photos. **What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?** As of right now Geotab has been assisting me with the increasing issue of the batteries for our assets dying so quickly. I really like being able to talk to local people and real people, not e-bots. **What do you dislike about Geotab?** I find it a bit cumbersome to navigate, and some of the reporting has not been accurate. For example, idling time isn’t easy to decipher, and the standard report doesn’t seem accurate, so I have to manually create the report I use for bonuses. The IFTA reporting report is also not great we did an integration with my fuel providers for easy reporting but still working out a few kinks **What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?** IFTA reporting—once it’s sorted out—will save a lot of administrative burden when it comes to reporting. That said, it does take some additional training to navigate the system and learn how to read and interpret some of the reports. ### 5. Geotab is very proactive, not just reactionary. Their footprint is worldwide and still growing, which matters to us. It’s important for us to partner with a telematics provider that knows where it’s going. **What do you dislike about Geotab?** In the early days of implementation, it took some time to learn the portal. Creating rules, along with setting up schedules and reports, required some technical ability. This has improved a lot with ACE. **What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?** Given the vast territory we service, maintaining reliable connectivity to our equipment is crucial. We’ve found that in some areas of Canada and parts of the US, we can lose tracking. The provider of geotab in our city was really eficient when it was recquired, covering that part of supporting us in time. In resume you get what you paid for and more, its a very realible option in my opinion. **What do you dislike about Geotab?** When I was using it, there were a few occasions when all the vehicles stopped updating in real time. It didn’t happen often, and it was usually resolved within a few minutes. For tech teams, it's all about keeping data integrity and making the most of powerful platform features. The MyGeotab open platform is really customisable and offers in-depth data analytics. We're super flexible when it comes to working with our 500+ Marketplace partners, so fleets can create a custom solution that works for our specific business model. **What do you dislike about Geotab?** The MyGeotab interface was a bit clunky at first, especially the map function, which our ops team had to get used to using, especially to set up advanced features like geofences. It took us about three months to get over that.Now the process has been made a lot easier. Not a blocker. **What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's got a full range of features that always deliver, especially when it comes to keeping an eye on your car's health. One of the things my team uses it for is pulling deep layer engine information, which lets us move from a "reparative" mindset to a "predictive" mindset and spot any potential problems. The GPS tracking is accurate and gives us a good idea where trucks and equipment are throughout the day. We use it for tracking idle time, vehicle usage, maintenance and driver behavior. The reports can be customized pretty good and help us make better decisions. Overall its helped us improve efficiency and keep a better handle on operating costs. **What do you dislike about Geotab?** The biggest downside is there can be a bit of a learning curve, especially when setting up reports or trying to find specific information. I value the dashboard and reporting capabilities the most because they allow me to view total fleet utilization, distinguish between active and idle vehicles, track miles or kilometers driven, assess vehicle downtime, and rank driver performance. Instead of looking at individual vehicles, I get a comprehensive report in the dashboard. After nine years of using it, I feel like I fully understand both the company and the product. It also has a security achitecture. The UI is personalized, it's an open platform that supports integrations, performance is fast with high fidelity daya and reliability, pricing remains modular with value over initial cost, support and onboarding is streamlined via the MyInstall platform, and AI has improved big time in 2026 with Geotab Ace. **What do you dislike about Geotab?** The middleman support model is the biggest downside because they sell exclusively through aithorized resellers. The UI/UX could feel overloaded, the mobile app has poerformance issues and can drain the phone's battery, the cost model is a bit complex and it requires proprietary hardware which could be problematric if you wannat switch providers in the future. **What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?** Fleet management, reactive maintenenace, avoiding human error, reducing information overload and overcoming hardware obsolescence.
