The biggest standout for us was how fast and hands-on the team was in getting us audit-ready. As an early-stage, AI-native startup, we went from under 40% compliant to a signed SOC 2 report in about three months. Mycroft essentially acted as our virtual CISO, making approvals on our behalf and actively pushing the process forward rather than just handing us a checklist and walking away. The collaboration ran almost entirely through a shared Slack channel, and the responsiveness was excellent. Questions got answered within minutes, feature flags got flipped on the same day, and our Trust Center status updates were handled almost in real time. The platform itself covered everything we needed: automated cloud and code scans, app/access reviews, vendor risk assessments, and a customizable public Trust Center we could point clients to. The UI/UX was functional and got the job done. They were also genuinely receptive to feedback. When we asked about API/agent access for our AI workflows, it was already on their roadmap. On pricing, the deal was standard and fair, and as an Antler company we got a discount, which was a nice bonus for an early-stage team watching its budget. A few rough edges, mostly the kind you'd expect from a fast-moving early-stage platform. The DNS setup for our custom-domain Trust Center was buggy and took some back-and-forth to get right, and the custom domain feature itself was hidden behind a feature flag, so it wasn't self-serve and required a manual request to turn on. The biggest gap for us as an AI-native team was the lack of CLI or API access. We'd much rather interact with compliance tooling through agents than click through a UI, and that wasn't available yet (though the team confirmed it's on the roadmap). Some of the auto-generated policies also needed careful manual review before they fit our actual business, especially anything touching data handling, so it wasn't entirely hands-off. Finally, since we opted out of their MDM, device compliance evidence was a manual screenshot process, and staying audit-ready takes a recurring time investment every couple of weeks. Mycroft is handling our entire SOC 2 compliance program, which as an early-stage startup we had no dedicated security or compliance hire to own. They took us from under 40% compliant to a signed SOC 2 Type report in about three months, acting as our virtual CISO and managing the heavy lifting: drafting policies, running automated cloud and code scans, managing vendor risk assessments, access reviews, and evidence collection. The biggest benefit is commercial. Having a SOC 2 badge and a public Trust Center we can point prospects to removes a major barrier in enterprise sales. As a due diligence and underwriting platform handling sensitive commercial real estate data, our clients need assurance that their data is secure, and being able to demonstrate that credibly shortens security reviews and builds trust early in the sales cycle. Beyond the badge, it's given us an ongoing framework to stay compliant rather than treating security as a one-time checkbox. The recurring scans and review cadence mean we catch issues continuously instead of scrambling before an audit. For a small team, offloading this to a platform that automates most of it lets us stay focused on building the product while still meeting the security bar our customers expect. They've brought so much clarity to how we operate our security and compliance policies and how we stay on track with our compliance requirements. I have never felt so confident in how we secure our customer data and do right by our users.
