MyBooks is desktop accounting software built for small businesses tired of renting their bookkeeping tools. If you're on QuickBooks Desktop and watching Intuit push everyone toward subscriptions, MyBooks is the alternative: a one-time $299 purchase (not a monthly fee) that includes a full accounting suite — invoicing and AR, bank feeds, online payments across 7 gateways, multi-user support, a QuickBooks import wizard to bring your existing data over, and 1099 tax form generation. Keep using it forever with no forced upgrades; an optional $49/year covers continued updates if you want them, but the software doesn't stop working if you skip a year. Your data stays local — you own it, not a vendor's cloud. Backed by a 90-day money-back guarantee. Built by I Own Software, a company whose entire catalog runs on the same principle: buy the tool once, own it, skip the subscription.
