The platform has delivered clear value for Macomics. The annual savings reports are really helpful, as they show the savings we have made through Amici and where we could make better use of the system to drive further value. For us, the savings achieved far outweigh the cost of the platform.

We also use the HSE and Asset modules, which have been extremely useful. The HSE module helps us meet our health and safety obligations by ensuring chemical purchases are reviewed and approved before orders are shipped, supporting our COSHH process and improving control over laboratory purchasing.

The Asset module has been particularly valuable in streamlining our processes and giving us much better visibility of our company assets, service records and service agreements. With support from our Amici contact manager, we are also able to review service providers and make sure we are getting good value.

Amici also supports us with negotiating equipment and service purchases, helping us achieve better savings while reducing the internal workload.

There are not many downsides from our experience. The only areas I think could be improved are having more information available on supplier sustainability commitments, and linking the system with Xero to make the finance side even smoother.

MyAmici has been a drastic improvement from using spreadsheets to manage orders & inventory. It has been much easier to track previous orders and trace any inventory records which means we can deal with incoming requests much more quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I think we've lost some of our relationships with suppliers as there's just not as much need for us to reach out directly to suppliers when Amici manage all of that for us. It's something we're working to improve now but at the time we joined Amici it was much more beneficial for us to risk losing that supplier relationship to gain what Amici could bring us considering our team was still quite small. As a cloud-based system, it is straightforward to implement and efficiently manages all purchasing tasks through an intuitive interface. This approach is much simpler than deploying an entire ERP system. It provides both structure and flexibility for small biotech companies looking to establish an organized method for handling lab material and reagent orders. Additionally, it offers access to a wide catalog with pre-negotiated prices. If you end-up ordering some specific instrument not listed in the current catalog, the Amici pruchasing will be glad in helping to find the best offer. You also benefit from a customer support.
