The RAML-based APIkit router proved to be in particular very useful by automatically implement basic url/request validation without additional code. The DataWeave language is extremely powerful. There doesn't seem to be a clear way to use Splitter Aggregator in an asynchronous way (not at least with version 3.x.x of the platform). MUnit tests are unreliable and they are not faithful to the actual behaviour of the application (a lot of false positives and negatives): it is more effective to just deploy and run the tests manually most of the time. If something bespoke is required then this can easily be built and deployed - this requires far less technical expertise than for example writing a microservice.
