"Best-in-Class Media Database and Valuable Generative Pulse Reporting"
5/5
What do you like best about Muck Rack?

I think Muck Rack's media database is one of the best! I also think their Generative Pulse reporting has been beneficial to my team and clients. They provide more information than what is available on other tools. I feel like Muck Rack is one, if not the leading, PR tool. Every feature it has has been beneficial on a PR standpoint. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Muck Rack?

Coming from an SEO/Digital Agency, it's harder to track reporting than I'd like. BUT the generative pulse reporting has been helpful on the AI side. I wish their media reporting in general were easier for my clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Jessica Andrews of Muck Rack

"Precision in Media Tracking and Coverage Analysis"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Muck Rack?

I like how I can pretty easily capture very specific coverage and that it lets me use very specific terms. I like being able to track broadcast coverage, which would be hard to do oftentimes, without the Muck Rack service and that I can search far back for very specific mentions across a variety of broadcast channels and stations and networks, both TV and broadcast. I like that it's easy to search for journalists and then search for people who have covered a specific topic or write for specific outlets, and being able to continually keep our media list up to date. The interface seems fairly intuitive and it seems reasonably easy to do searches. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Muck Rack?

Not sure, perhaps that some of the features that could make it even more valuable to myself and colleagues are harder to find, maybe feel like a learning curve? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Jessica Andrews of Muck Rack

"Up-to-Date Reporter Database That Delivers Real Value"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Muck Rack?

Muck Rack has provided a lot of value to my team - particularly through how up to date they keep their reporter database. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Muck Rack?

I don't have any significant issues with Muck Rack. I would say their strength is on the reporter outreach and media list building side, not the coverage tracking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

4.5/5
What do you like best about Muck Rack?

I find Muck Rack very easy to use and really helpful for PR. It makes it simple to build media lists, find contacts, and connect with reporters. I also like being able to pull stats on articles for my clients, which helps me track coverage and share results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Muck Rack?

I’ve found that some of the newer features can be a bit confusing to learn at first. I also notice occasional lag, although that may be on my end since I tend to forget to clear my cookies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlines Media Outreach with Smart Journalist Search and Helpful Alerts"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Muck Rack?

Muck Rack makes it really easy to find journalists who are actually covering the topics you want to pitch. I work across a few B2B industries (manufacturing, plumbing/HVAC, construction, etc.) and the ability to see what reporters have recently written about is super helpful before reaching out. It saves a ton of time vs. manually searching Google or publications.

I also like the monitoring and alerts; it’s nice having coverage show up in one place instead of trying to track it across different outlets. The media list function is pretty straightforward too and makes it easier to keep track of contacts for different industries or campaigns.

Overall it’s been a really solid tool for day-to-day media relations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Muck Rack?

Sometimes the search results pull in journalists who are kind of related to the topic but not always the best fit, so you still have to do a little manual vetting before building a list. Not a huge deal, but it can slow things down a bit.

Also the list management could be a little more flexible. When you’re managing lists across a bunch of industries or campaigns it can get a little messy. And like most PR tools, the pricing can be tough for smaller teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Jessica Andrews of Muck Rack

Thanks for the detailed review! We’re glad Muck Rack helps you quickly find the right journalists and simplify your day-to-day media relations work. It’s great to hear the platform is making outreach and reporting more efficient.

We appreciate your feedback on search precision and list management. We’ll pass this along to our product team as we continue improving relevance and usability. Thanks again for sharing your experience.

"Generative Pulse Report: Experimenting with Muck Rack on the Agency Side"
4/5
What do you like best about Muck Rack?

Right now, I am using the Generative Pulse Report in Muck Rack as my only tool. My agency uses Muck Rack for PR, but as of now I'm only using the GPR. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Muck Rack?

The Generative Pulse report is somewhat limited. I used the export tool within the GPR to export all the visualizations, but we had to make our own deck to actually present the report. The insights were also limited, and we had to rely on using Claude to analyze the exported data set to gather insights. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Jessica Andrews of Muck Rack

Hi there, thanks for sharing your experience. We’re glad you’re exploring Generative Pulse as a way to measure AI visibility across clients. Helping teams understand how they show up in LLMs is a key part of where PR is headed.

We appreciate your feedback on reporting and depth of insights and we’ll pass this feedback along to our product team. Generative Pulse is a major focus area for us right now, with improvements underway to make insights more actionable and easier to present without extra lift.

If you’re open to it, we’d really value more detail on what would make this more useful for your workflow. Feel free to email me at jessica.andrews@muckrack.com.

"Streamlined Media Outreach with Intuitive UI"
5/5
What do you like best about Muck Rack?

I use Muck Rack for Public Relations, and I really like its user interface -- which I use daily. It's really easy to use once you get past the initial learning curve. I find it especially good at helping me build media lists quickly and send media pitches efficiently. Muck Rack also helps me monitor brand mentions and competitor mentions, track backlinks to our site content that we've pitched, and see which pitches resulted in citations from authoritative sources. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Muck Rack?

Visibility into whether or not a contact has an email address is crucial. It could save lots of time from clicking on someone with no contact details. Also, inactive accounts should be flagged as such (having a low open rate) or so. Which would help us keep the most active folks in our media lists, and encourage us to find better fits for our media lists at the same outlet, if we are sending pitches to the wrong person who doesn't want/need them. "All-In-One Media Tracking with Exceptional Ease"
5/5
What do you like best about Muck Rack?

I really like that Muck Rack is an all-encompassing tool. I specifically like the new tracker function, which aligns all of my search terms to stay consistent across the entire platform, including media monitoring and creating competitor dashboards for topic research and coverage reporting. It helps me find media contacts across various industries, receive alerts on specific client keywords and phrases, and prepares reporting on media coverage that I can share with clients. The platform transition was super easy, allowing me to import multiple media lists seamlessly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Muck Rack?

I think the outputs are only as good as your inputs, so when searching for alerts/coverage for specific clients, the boolean search terms are really tricky to prepare which can create noise. I typically have to go into an AI platform like ChatGPT to ask it to clean up the boolean search phrase. If there was a way to do that within the platform that would help tremendously. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Jessica Andrews of Muck Rack

Thanks so much for updating your review. We’re thrilled to see Muck Rack continues to deliver for you.

We also appreciate your thoughtful feedback on boolean complexity. You’re right that crafting precise boolean can be time consuming. To help with this, we’re releasing an AI-powered search assistant this month that will help generate and refine boolean strings directly within the platform, eliminating the need to rely on ChatGPT.

At the same time, we’re continuing to evolve our monitoring capabilities with a smarter curation layer designed to improve relevance, reduce junk results and make alerts more accurate overall. Stay tuned!

Thanks again for sharing your updated experience and for continuing to grow with Muck Rack.

Update: 05/01/2026

Exciting update: We recently launched Curation Engine for our Brand Premier customers. It uses AI to filter irrelevant coverage, apply tags across competitors and themes, and analyze sentiment more accurately so reports are clean and ready to use. We’re excited about the impact this will have on reducing noise and improving coverage quality.

"Great for Targeted Pitching and Personalization"
4/5
What do you like best about Muck Rack?

I really appreciate how quickly support replies. The pitching personalization feature is incredibly helpful, allowing me to send very targeted emails to people who care about the content I'm pitching. I also really like the journalist search feature because it helps me find the perfect targets I'm looking for. It's a great tool for making outreach highly personalized. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Muck Rack?

The coverage sentiment gauge is pretty rarely correct. It'll often say things are negative when they aren't, like marking an article as negative sentiment just because it includes a word that sounds negative. I also feel like Muck Rack could definitely use more podcast research. It has some data, but it's not very specific and often broad, making it hard to filter out the relevance. I would also love to see more verified outlets and less promotion of aggregate content. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Jessica Andrews of Muck Rack

Hi Hailey, thanks for the thoughtful and detailed review. We’re glad to hear our support team has been responsive and that we're helping you run more targeted, effective outreach. Making it easy to find the right reporters and tailor your messaging is core to what we aim to deliver.

We appreciate your candid feedback on sentiment and podcast data. Sentiment detection using NLP methods can be challenging, but we're actively working on a more advanced approach to sentiment analysis as part of a broader evolution in how coverage is curated and evaluated. We’re excited about the improvements coming soon, so stay tuned.

On podcast research and outlet verification, if there are specific shows, regions or criteria you’re looking for, our Editorial Team would love to hear from you so we can better focus our sourcing and enrichment efforts. Insights like this help us continue strengthening the quality and relevance of the database.

Thanks again for sharing your experience and for using Muck Rack!
