"Accurate Reporting with Seamless Monitoring"
4/5
What do you like best about Muck Rack?

I like the accuracy of the reports in Muck Rack. Its coverage reporting feature is quite beneficial as it allows me to manually add more articles to the reporting dashboard using URLs. This helps me monitor new articles and their hit scores effectively. I also appreciate the alerts that keep me informed, even if I'm away from the dashboard. Additionally, the initial setup was very simple, which I found convenient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Eases Media Monitoring with Quick Setup"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Muck Rack?

I like that Muck Rack is easier to use and set up, which is important for me since I'm a one-person marketing team and need tools that let me focus on extracting information rather than the setup. The clipping feature works well for me, especially compared to AI agents I've tried for scraping news which weren't as efficient. The lower price point for accessing journalists and clipping across different countries is also a benefit compared to other similar solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Muck Rack?

I currently have a very large clipping from many different countries. Sometimes I notice the same headline in different news, but I need to review them all. I would really like to have the possibility to setup my associate brands, competitors, and industry keywords, and use AI within Muck Rack to provide a quick summary on top so that I can easily understand the daily priorities. I also craft press releases outside Muck Rack because I am not satisfied with the quality of the texts within the tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Eliza Castillo of Muck Rack

Thanks for the thoughtful review. We’re glad Muck Rack’s ease of setup and clipping features are helping you stay focused and work efficiently, especially as a one-person team. It’s great to hear the platform is delivering value across international coverage and journalist access.

We also appreciate your feedback on duplicate coverage and the need for quicker summaries. We recently launched Curation Engine for our Brand Premier customers. It uses AI to filter irrelevant coverage, apply tags across competitors and themes, and analyze sentiment more accurately so reports are clean and ready to use. Check it out when you get a chance!

"Up-to-Date Contacts, Helpful AI Assist, and Real Human Support"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Muck Rack?

I like that the contact information is usually up to date, which makes a big difference when you’re pitching. I also find the AI assist helpful. It speeds things up when I’m drafting or refining outreach. The platform is also intuitive, and when we need help, we can reach an actual support specialist. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Muck Rack?

If I had to call out a downside, it’s that the contact data. While generally strong, it still isn’t perfect. There are times when emails bounce or a journalist has moved roles and it hasn’t been updated yet, so you still have to double-check. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Eliza Castillo of Muck Rack

Appreciate you sharing this. We’re glad the contact data, AI assist and support team are helping you move faster and stay confident in your outreach. That mix of speed and reliability is exactly what we aim to deliver.

We hear you on contact accuracy. We’ll pass this feedback along to our product team. If you come across a profile that needs an update, you can click “Request update” to flag it for our data team. Our media research team can also spend more time building out coverage in specific areas.

Thanks again for your feedback.

"Essential Tool for Media Lists and Monitoring, Needs AI Refinement"
4/5
What do you like best about Muck Rack?

I like that Muck Rack is the only option on the market with truly up-to-date information on journalists, where they work, and their current emails. It's practically the only thing of its kind. The accuracy of the email information is impressive, working almost 90% of the time, which makes my job as a public relations leader much easier. I find Muck Rack to be great, as it has dominated the market because there's nothing else like it at this caliber. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Muck Rack?

I think the new AI feature could use some work. It's kind of annoying to have little red flags on everything I send out. The media monitoring is kind of confusing, and the new AI features are kinda confusing too. It's a lot to learn if you're coming in not having seen the platform before, especially when it's about understanding the difference between certain things. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Eliza Castillo of Muck Rack

Glad to hear the contact data is delivering strong results and making your outreach more efficient. That level of accuracy is critical for PR teams, so it’s great to see it having an impact.

"Solid Media CRM with Room for Reporting Enhancement"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Muck Rack?

I use Muck Rack to find contact information for journalists, which makes it easy for me to send them pitches. I love the CRM feature, as it allows me to manage outreach effectively by providing insight into open and click rates, helping me understand what kind of messaging resonates most with journalists. The CRM also makes it easy to find the best journalists for our pitches and gives insight into journalists' beats based on their recent coverage. Some journalists even include helpful tips, like the best time of day to contact them, which I find very useful. Additionally, I appreciate the visibility into who else from my organization may have been in contact with a journalist recently. I find it convenient to track media coverage and create reports, compare against competitors, and track sentiment with Muck Rack. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Muck Rack?

While Muck Rack does have some reporting features, they could be built out a bit more in depth. It is also a bit frustrating that several charts exist only as charts and cannot be easily converted to a CSV file in the platform. Ultimately, the most frustrating part of Muck Rack is the sheer amount of time it takes to set up any reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Eliza Castillo of Muck Rack

Thanks for the thoughtful review. We’re glad Muck Rack is helping you manage outreach more effectively with CRM insights, journalist profiles and engagement tracking. It’s great to hear features like open rates, coverage history and internal collaboration visibility are helping your team make smarter pitching decisions.

We appreciate your feedback on reporting depth and export flexibility and we’ll pass this feedback along to our product team. Reporting and dashboards are a major focus area for us, with continued investments in analytics, visualization and workflow efficiency. Thanks again for sharing your experience.

"Comprehensive Alerts and Reporter Database That Saves Hours"
5/5
What do you like best about Muck Rack?

I love the alert and monitoring system. When I scan in the morning, I bookmark each tab I need (google alerts over past 24 hours, digital Muck Rack alerts, and broadcast Muck Rack alerts, and I feel confident I'm catching all coverage. The reporter database is incredibly comprehensive and saves me hours. I recommend this to everyone I know. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Muck Rack?

I like the monitoring/alert system, AND I find it a bit confusing at times. I'm still not always sure what a "system" is. I also wish I could group syndications on real-time alerts as well - whenever a client is mentioned in a press release that goes out over the newswire, my inbox gets packed quickly, but I need to have real-time alerts on for clients.

I also wish the coverage reports were a bit cleaner and easier to share the way that Coverage Book is. A link that I could share with clients that would update in real time would go a long way. In fact, I use Muck Rack for monitoring/clipping/media database services, and Coverage Book for compiling clips. If Muck Rack offered a Coverage Book reporting dupe I'd be obsessed.

I also find that the broadcast clipping process is quite long. If there were some sort of AI function to separate clips out, it would make it much easier. I also find that I have to put in a LOT of boolean search terms for broadcast alerts/monitoring, as transcripts from the news stations aren't always right.

For example, I worked with a client called "2Life Communities." My search terms had to be something like... "to life" AND "2Life" AND "two life" AND "Twolife" AND "2 life" NOT "two life jackets" NOT "two life insurance policies" etc.

Names are even more of a challenge. Not sure what can be done about that but some AI-enhanced way to sort and find actually-relevant clips would be huge.

It is also decently expensive...

I also wish that the pitching features were a bit better. I'd love to be able to upload a media list and somehow have it import automatically rather than having to wait several days for a Muck Rack employee to do it, as there are times where I'm learning about things very late and can't build a list that far in advance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Eliza Castillo of Muck Rack

Thanks for the thoughtful review. We’re glad alerts and the reporter database are saving you time and helping you feel confident you’re catching the right coverage. That kind of efficiency is exactly what we aim to deliver.

We hear your feedback on alert noise, syndications and broadcast complexity. We recently launched Curation Engine for our Brand Premier customers. It uses AI to filter irrelevant coverage, apply tags across competitors and themes, and analyze sentiment more accurately so reports are clean and ready to use. This is especially helpful for reducing duplicate alerts and making monitoring easier to manage at scale. https://muckrack.com/blog/introducing-curation-engine

We also appreciate your feedback on reporting, pitching workflows and list imports and we’ll pass this feedback along to our product team. In the meantime, our team can help with faster list uploads when timing is tight. Thanks again for sharing your experience.

"Saves Time with Valuable Media Insights"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Muck Rack?

I really appreciate the journalist profiles on Muck Rack, especially their location and the beats they report on. When I'm deciding who to pitch, those beats are incredibly helpful as they let me know whether or not I should be pitching someone for a particular client. It saves me a ton of time to be able to just look at the beats they list and make a decision on whether or not to pitch them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Muck Rack?

On the landing page, when I'm typing in a name or a phrase that I want to search and it's in quotations, there are quotations that automatically show up, and I always have to take them off from the search term I'm looking for. Otherwise, it doubles the quotes, and I hate that. If I'm sending a follow-up in MuckRack, I wish I could edit the original email in the thread. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Eliza Castillo of Muck Rack

Thanks for the thoughtful review. We’re glad journalist profiles and beat data are helping you quickly decide who to pitch and save time on research. That’s exactly the kind of efficiency we aim to deliver.

"Effortless PR Management with AI Boost"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Muck Rack?

I like that Muck Rack makes it easier to use compared to Cision or other platforms, especially when it comes to adding editors to lists without the need to manually input names, emails, and other details into a spreadsheet. I can easily add or remove editors with the click of a button, which is a significant time saver. The editor research feature is also valuable to me. Additionally, the new AI feature is really interesting and helpful as we move towards more AI integration. The initial setup was pretty easy, at least from my personal experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Muck Rack?

Making sure that editor status is most up-to-date. Sometimes editors I am looking for aren't on Muck Rack. Our team does like to be able to access media lists in a more visible way than you currently have it. So more like a spreadsheet format where there are multiple tabs, so we can organize it by client. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Eliza Castillo of Muck Rack

Thanks for the thoughtful review. We’re glad Muck Rack is making list building and pitching faster, and that features like editor research and AI are adding value to your workflow. It’s great to hear setup was smooth as well.

We appreciate your feedback on contact freshness and list visibility and we’ll pass this feedback along to our product team. "Seamless Email Integration and Fast, Fabulous Customer Support"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Muck Rack?

Love how easily it integrates with email account. Feels like real emails are sent via pitch (and they are real emails). Customer success team is fabulous and super fast to respond. User experience is easy to use, seamless, not hard to pick up on. Pricing has been fairly flexible for our small nonprofit team. I like the alert system, and direct inbox email alerts help me understand what's happening both with our brand and with the broader sector & industry at large. Have not used much of the AI features yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Muck Rack?

Not much I dislike about Muck Rack, but I would say the pricing could still come down a bit, and one area that's a bit unhelpful is in the alerts, sometimes articles are duplicated multiple times across different news channels when they are syndicated, but they don't necessarily get collapsed into one larger mention as they are supposed to, which clogs up coverage reports & alert inboxes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Eliza Castillo of Muck Rack

Thanks for the thoughtful review. We’re glad the email integration, alerts and pitching tools are helping your team stay organized and move faster. It’s great to hear our customer success team has been responsive and supportive.

We hear your feedback on duplicate alerts from syndicated content. We recently launched Curation Engine for our Brand Premier customers. "Most Comprehensive Media Data Solution with Excellent Support"
5/5
What do you like best about Muck Rack?

I find Muck Rack incredibly valuable for its thorough media database. The team is responsive to updates which is a big plus. I also appreciate the comprehensive and trustworthy information it provides, particularly about web traffic. Sharing media lists with colleagues is straightforward, without having to worry about any major hurdles. I really like the depth of information I can access, and I've noticed improvements in international media, which is great for clients seeking global coverage. The ability to search by different parameters, not just by name but also by phrase appearing in articles, is really helpful. The initial setup with Muck Rack was easy for our team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Muck Rack?

One thing is that Muck Rack is not always great at condensing duplicate articles. For example, it can be really hard to read over an AP reporter's list of articles because the same article appears as a different entry for every syndication - and because the AP is so widely syndicated, that's a lot of articles to sift through. If they could take how they condense duplicate articles from an article search (where it's an expandable list) and put that into how they display articles on a journalist's profile, that would be great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Eliza Castillo of Muck Rack

Thanks for the thoughtful review. We’re glad the depth of our media database and global coverage are delivering value, and that sharing lists and searching across articles is making your workflow easier. It’s great to hear setup was smooth as well.
