When information is outdated (sometimes the reporter won't update their profile but someone from MuckRack could have captured the change - for example moving to a new outlet); also dislike how much it makes me sign in

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

I find Muck Rack more friendly and easy to access, which is really helpful for my media monitoring needs. I like getting more specific country publications, which makes it much easier to validate brand and competitors' mentions along with SoV analysis. I also appreciate that the initial setup was too easy and basic training was enough for a beginner. It's great that Muck Rack gives us better results compared to other products we use.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

I think it could use more enhanced features like live tagging by creating custom fields and reducing noise using a few macro options.

Muck Rack helps me get relevant data for brand and competitor mentions and calculating the Share of Voice. It's friendly, easy to access, and provides more specific country publications, easing the validation process.

I use Muck Rack to curate and spotlight my writing portfolio because it makes it easy for me to find and compile articles I've contributed to various publications all in one place. The initial setup was very easy for me. I love its ability to collate all my online journalism pieces into one location. Without Muck Rack, I would have to bookmark and save links all the time, but this platform made it easy to set up once and just review and update as needed.

At times I found it difficult to locate an article for inclusion in my profile, but that may have had more to do with the publication than Muck Rack's capabilities. When I tried to search and link articles to my profile, I couldn't always find my published works to connect.

I like the number of filters that are available and the amount of reporters/outlets that are available on the platform. Our rep from MuckRack has always been helpful as well.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

I really dislike that the coverage reports don't include broadcasting metrics in a meaningful way. Yes, we are able to find the clips, but they do not show a summary of total viewership/publicity value (these have to be added manually).

It helps solve the problem of missing reporter emails/beats and it helps me identify the right people to reach out to and how to reach them.

In the meantime, a helpful workaround is creating a Dashboard with the "Total Broadcast Audience" widget or the "AVE" widget, which will show combined viewership and can be easily exported for reporting. I use Muck Rack for generating media lists and media alerts, and I find it valuable for finding news desk and reporter emails. I really like the ability to view an outlet and search for reporters, editors, or producers within that outlet, which is helpful since I work in media and public relations and often pitch different reporters. I rate it a 9 as it gets the job done and is easy to navigate.

I think the pitch sending mechanic isn't as accurate as other tools. I'm used to seeing 40-60% opens for my email marketing campaigns however I sometimes see 60% plus for Muckrack

I love the bulk email features in Muck Rack. The follow-up feature is also really helpful. Being able to see who's read a pitch is valuable, and having the ability to email a list while knowing the contact info and outlets are up to date is great. The initial setup was straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

I find that UVMs could be easier to find. The monitoring features are underdeveloped and difficult to navigate, and I can never get the results I want.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Muck Rack solves the problem of missing journalist emails and enhances my email process beyond Microsoft's batch sending. I love using it for bulk email features, follow-up, and knowing who reads pitches, plus keeping contact info up-to-date.

It can be challenging to send follow-ups to pitches sometimes, but this is not a big issue.

MuckRack has become one of my go to tools because it’s genuinely easy to use and the database feels endless. It surfaces everyone I need to reach, including freelancers and newer reporters who don’t always show up elsewhere. It has also saved me in crisis moments. Over a holiday weekend I needed to quickly track down reporter contacts to correct a few stories, and MuckRack made it simple.

I’m also impressed with the new Generative Pulse feature. We just started using it and it’s already giving us a clear view of our share of voice across topics. Overall, it’s a reliable, intuitive tool that has made my job much easier.

It easy to implement for our business and to get set-up and running, its something that we check on a monthly basis.

Not much to dislike but it could provide more granular data on keywords and search terms.

I love Muck Rack for their AI tracking features and appreciate that they don't have a lot of bounce-back emails. Whenever an issue does arise, customer support always updates it quickly, which I find amazing. The tools are great, and the website is easy to navigate. I think it's a wonderful tool for all PR companies or production companies to get their projects out there. The format of the website is another aspect I love, as it allows you to search by people, articles, and more, making it easy to find someone and track articles. I also appreciate the detailed organization and filtering options, which help identify who writes about specific topics like movies or sports. Additionally, the well-organized structure tells you when someone last wrote for a publication. The price is reasonable, and the platform customization is another plus. The initial setup was a breeze, thanks to the amazing staff who walked us through the process and the informative Muck Rack University classes.

I don't really have any major complaints, but I would like to see a bit more on the social media side. I like the monitoring and reporting features and the ease of looking up contacts. When I'm monitoring for a client's placement, I can get the notifications straight to my email without doing a manual search. The initial setup was easy.

I don't like how fast emails are updated or putting in new emails for contacts that haven't had one.

Sometimes Muck Rack does not catch articles or online pieces of client coverage that are from notable local outlets. I always find myself doing a separate google news search before exporting coverage for our clients to make sure everything's accounted for. I have also noticed several recent instances where Muck Rack was experiencing outages or specific parts of the site were down. I also find there are broadcast stations I would like to monitor that MucK Rack does not have visibility into (TVEyes limits, apparently).
