## About MSP360 Backup
MSP360 Managed Backup is a centralized backup platform for managed service providers and IT teams. It covers multiple clients, platforms, and workloads from a single web console - no on-premises infrastructure needed. Deploy agents remotely, configure backup plans, track job status in real time, and handle issues without site visits. The platform supports the full range of environments MSPs work with: - File-level and image-based backup for Windows, macOS, and Linux desktops and servers - Virtual machine backup for VMware (vSphere 6.0+), Hyper-V, and Proxmox - SQL Server backup and application-aware (VSS-based) backup - Local, cloud, and hybrid destinations, including NAS and network shares MSP360 Managed Backup works on a bring-your-own-storage model - connect your preferred provider and keep full control over costs and data residency. Supported storage includes Amazon S3, Microsoft Azure, Wasabi, Backblaze B2, Google Cloud, and IDrive e2. No proprietary storage required. Security and compliance are covered at every level: - AES 256-bit encryption in transit and at rest - Object Lock (immutability) to protect backups from ransomware and deletion - Two-factor authentication and role-based access control - GFS retention policies and versioning - Audit logging and scheduled reporting Group endpoints by company, apply policies in bulk, and configure alerts and reports per client. White-labeling lets MSPs deliver the platform under their own brand. Native integration with MSP360 RMM gives teams a unified view of endpoint health and backup status in one console. PSA integrations include ConnectWise PSA and Autotask for billing automation and ticketing, and HaloPSA for asset sync and remote access. Recovery options include bare-metal restore, granular file and folder recovery, and restore to dissimilar hardware or virtual machines.

## MSP360 Backup Reviews
  ### 1. Nice and fast backup solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Svante G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 10, 2018

**What do you like best about MSP360 Backup?**

Simple and affordable backup solution for home and small business.

**What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?**

Maybe a short trial period, some settings are not well documented.

**What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Faster and cheaper backups.

  ### 2. Backups to my Google Cloud account, what I was looking for!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2018

**What do you like best about MSP360 Backup?**

I can use my Google Cloud account to get backups, and I know nobody can see my files except me, and that's important to me. Also have very comfortable price options for GB in Google.

**What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?**

It took me some time to find a way to set up the Google Cloud account, I wrote to the support but they just forwarded me the same indications that are obsolete. The configuration with AWS was easy, however.

**What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have 3 computers from which to get backups and use Cloudberry + Google Cloud seems the best option, and using the Google Cloud console I can review the backups made in the other machines and access them if I need them.

  ### 3. Just works! Period.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tim L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2017

**What do you like best about MSP360 Backup?**

Very fast restore browsing. Simple interface. Runs as a Windows Service (no need to be logged on). Very cost effective with amazon S3

**What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?**

Nothing, so far. Believe me or ask my wife. I am a hard cookie to impress. Tend to complain about all things modern.

**Recommendations to others considering MSP360 Backup:**

Just works! Try it!

**What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I want to keep accounting backups for multiple years. Tried Acronis and ran it for a few years now, until I just realized it was deleting older backups AND there was no way to configure it to keep them.

  ### 4. Great for individual files

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2018

**What do you like best about MSP360 Backup?**

Cloudberry is rarely easy to navigate through. I've used this before to backup invidious files. I can run their wizard and choose which date of time I need the file from. It's the easiest restoration process I've ever usedz

**What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?**

It's kinda hard to navigate through everything besides the restoration. I get confused looking for something besides backing up a file. I would like backup products to be a bit more beginner friendly outside of the actual restoration.

**What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

While virtual machines were being backed up completely, CloudBerry backed up all the revisions from files and folders. It helped us with short term back ups when files were lost or deleted.

  ### 5. Great product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bob R. | CEO / Co Founder, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 29, 2017

**What do you like best about MSP360 Backup?**

This is a very powerful, yet easy to use product. I like that it can connect to so many storage types and it is incredibly flexible.

**What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?**

The only thing I can think of that I don't like is that on startup it doesn't show a notification icon since it is a service. It's no big deal though since I can just load the UI application.

**What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It keeps the latest x versions of all critical files. This is incredibly important since it allows us to easily recover anything.

  ### 6. Great to backup to an external drive and the cloud

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2018

**What do you like best about MSP360 Backup?**

I like the ease of backing up on a regular schedule to my external drive and the cloud all in one operation.

**What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?**

I use One Drive which Cloudberry says does not support encryption.

**Recommendations to others considering MSP360 Backup:**

Simple and plain interface

**What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of having a local and a remote backup

  ### 7. I use and recommend Cloud Berry Backup

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Networking | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2018

**What do you like best about MSP360 Backup?**

Excellent software that we use and implement for clients for file server backup, databases, and virtual machines with Microsoft Hyper-v.

**What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?**

So far, we have not encountered any situation where Cloud Berry failed to meet our clients' demand.

**Recommendations to others considering MSP360 Backup:**

That they provide a license for resellers/consultants.

**What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our clients have come to rely on a tool with reliable and excellent usability for managing local and cloud backups, agility in restore, and protection against ransomware.

  ### 8. Nice backup software, but poor customer service

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2017

**What do you like best about MSP360 Backup?**

Many features: AES-256 encryption, file compression, backup types (file, block), many other options and customization, supports a wide variety of cloud backup providers. Emails to customer service took up to a week to receive a response or no response at all.

**What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?**

There are many options, which is great, but not all are self-explanatory. It took some time during the initial setup having to figure out what to select/enable. Their site is very informative and most of my questions were answered somewhere within their site (found via Google searches). Customer service was slow or non-existent.

**What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our previous backup provider discontinued their services.

  ### 9. Best backup solution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marcin H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2018

- a lot of options.
- no restrictions on the type of files
- perfectly works with Backblaze B2
- Client-side encryption (service providers can't to decrypt hosted data)
- ability to prevent Ransomware

**What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?**

- The interface should be more friendly.

**Recommendations to others considering MSP360 Backup:**

The user must have at least basic knowledge about backup.

**What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We could backup all our data from hard drives to external hard drives as well as to the cloud.

  ### 10. Excellent no problems cloud backup

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Individual & Family Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

The speed and ease of setting up new plans

**What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?**

Nothing much! It just works and seems reliable once set up.

**Recommendations to others considering MSP360 Backup:**

Go for it!

**What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Security and reliability

  ### 11. Use for both my organization and personal files

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2018

**What do you like best about MSP360 Backup?**

Easy to use UI and very complete set of options to customize the backup process.

Wish a personal version was available that could run on a VM and backup network shares. Had to purchase the enterprise product.

Data backup

I haven't had any bad experience with this software.

**What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Backups

  ### 13. Fickle little thing

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2018

**What do you like best about MSP360 Backup?**

The free solution doesn't have too many limitations, plenty of potential targets to send backups to, and the reporting is pretty not terrible.

**What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?**

I'd really like to see the image backup not locked behind payment, and a few fewer tiers and layers of redundant product categories would help too.

**Recommendations to others considering MSP360 Backup:**

Give it a shot

**What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None, compared to commercial mainstream products. Veeam is my goto for production backups. Personal backups and products I recommend to friends is different.

After using many differnt backup solutions of the years, I found CloudBerry extremely easy to install and configure, it just works!

  ### 15. Good product, not so good business model

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2017

**What do you like best about MSP360 Backup?**

Backups to many locations (I like S3 and use wasabi - supported)
You can CRC validate
Does real-time monitoring of files
Does not use that much ram (compared to crashplan)

**What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?**

The business model is broken.
1) You are limited to 1tb of data - this is a show stopper. Turns out if you email and complain they can extent it. Even a low spec laptop has more than 1tb HDD. I want to back up HOME NAS box (most people have some variant)
2) Because my NAS runs a 'server' version of windows (it is a HOME version - Essentials) I have to buy the SERVER version of Cloudberry $120 - the desktop version is $30.
3) If I want the more than 1tb of data I would have to pay $300 - this is a show stopper.
4) Cloudberry agreed to up the 1tb limit on my $120 version once I bought it, but it did mean I could not test properly. The demo version limits to 1tb unless I use the unlimited, but then I was not sure which feature was from unlimited and which was from server versions. So I had to buy without testing properly!
5)There is some sort of maintenance $$$$ charge they want you to pay every year, it is unclear what this is for, looks like updates, but it seems a bit high and not something I like. Crashplan charged yearly, many are free, some you purchase for major versions, but Cloudberry charge for the software and a yearly fee....
6) the backup went smooth (wasabi is fast) but when I attempted to restore I hit issues (the data was okay but..). I built a new machine to simulate a restore, but my cloudberry license was locked to the old machine (no longer running) you have to email to get the license unlocked (this should be a feature on the website- with a limit on number of times). Show stopper. No restore until license is released and linked to the new machine (cost a day - release was a few hours, but US time - I am in the UK). Then things started to work.
7) Consistency check tasks cannot run with the real-time file system monitor! so the feature I liked had to be disabled. so I can consistency check 1/month
8) The new machine install was not smooth. I exported the settings from the old machine. But despite the backup storage 'prefix' being correct, the backup went into a new folder (machine name)! this was a disaster as wasabi have a deletion policy of 90 days (you pay for data over that 90 days even once deleted) so by backing up to the wrong folder I doubled my storage costs for 3 months! I had to delete the imported backup plan and do it from scratch. (I did verify all was correct on the import - guess this is a BUG)

**Recommendations to others considering MSP360 Backup:**

yes if you have the $$$$$$

**What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have a home server (Windows Essentials 2012 then 2016) and I would like to back up 1.5TB of data.

  ### 16. Very comfortable, flexible and secure softeware by a moderate pricing model

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2018

**What do you like best about MSP360 Backup?**

Restoring was easy and quickly, at least for a few files.

**What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?**

If I start a restore on a different PC it needs some time for downloading and syncronizing

**Recommendations to others considering MSP360 Backup:**

I didn't find any better solution, and I searched a lot!

**What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used it for years to backup files and a MS-Database, with no problems.
Backup volume per day about 400 MB (files, database), in total 50 GBytes.
Today I update also files with the free desktop version (for private purposes).

  ### 17. Easy and exactly what we were looking for!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sean A. | Information Technology, IT Assistant, Entertainment, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2017

**What do you like best about MSP360 Backup?**

Although early, this service is working flawlessly. Working in the entertainment industry, this easily connects to multiple cloud accounts and lets us send things off site to S3, OneDrive, etc. Easy to create different backup plans and control everything remotely via the web portal.

**What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?**

Lots of options could get confusing for daily users, however if you are an admin distributing this to multiple users, the options are very detailed and gives you full control.

**What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scheduled Automated backup to Amazon S3 then into Glacier for cold storage

  ### 18. Excellent, reliable product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris H. | Senior System Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 26, 2017

**What do you like best about MSP360 Backup?**

Set it and forget it, it just works. From complex backup policies to basic, CloudBerry Backup will get the job done.

**What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?**

They are always releasing new features and updates which is great but I like my backup software to sit and age like a fine wine. Just kidding, no complaints.

**What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Moving away from commercial backup software providers to more of a DIY approach using CloudBerry Backup and own cloud storage subscriptions.

**What do you like best about MSP360 Backup?**

Okay, this software works too well. It is awesome software! I have installed it on two servers and it is working perfectly. I can’t wait to start working with the image capability and bootable USB. The interface is clean and simple. There are all of the options needed to succeed in backups. **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Arts and Crafts | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2018

**What do you like best about MSP360 Backup?**

powerful, and quite simple to setup considering how complicated cloud storage can be.

**What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?**

freeware version a little misleading as capped at 200gb of data backup.

**What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

nice to be able to backup direct from desktop PC and not via main server or NAS.

  ### 30. Great Software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 23, 2017

**What do you like best about MSP360 Backup?**

It is very easy to use, It provides the option to have pre cloud encryption and as we see nowadays that is a very important feature. It is easy to configure the encryption as well.

**What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?**

I wish that the software would support the standard WebDAV protocol as well as all of the cloud storage providers. Supporting the open standard would give customers more options without having to make it work themselves.

**What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Offsite backup is critical in todays business environment. If you are not backing up offsite when something bad happens it could be the end of your business.

  ### 31. Excellent SMB backup utility

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2017

**What do you like best about MSP360 Backup?**

Comprehensive solution with a lot of capability, but a very short learning curve. Integration with multiple Cloud providers is straightforward, and configuration of the utility is well-guided by their wizards. Yet the application does not leave you feeling like it's lacking in features. The GUI has been well-designed to provide all of the critical information readily, and I never feel like I need to hunt for basic status details like whether any errors were encountered.

**What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?**

Wish there was a tier between Server and Ultimate. I need more than 1TB of management for our office File Server, without the SQL and Exchange support.

Because the wizards are very good the documentation is minimal, and so answers often require going to the forum or support. Support has been excellent, but it is valuable to have that maintenance coverage and not try to get by on forums alone if you have critical services using the service.

**What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

off-site archival of critical company back-ups.

  ### 32. Great Cloud Backup for private and small-business corp. > from local to cloud

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andreas B. | IT Enterprise Architect, Machinery, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2017

**What do you like best about MSP360 Backup?**

With this well designed UI guided configuration it is easy to manage all your backup and restore plans. No clunky PowerShell commands required!

All scenarios (local to cloud, cloud to cloud, cloud to local) are available to click-through your scenario.
All popular and useful cloud storage providers are available - if you don't find in the list your current one, you should think about to move to one of the CloudBerry Backup interfaced storage providers.

**What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?**

The free version is limited to 200GB and 1 network share

**Recommendations to others considering MSP360 Backup:**

Install it, test it and enjoiy the easyness of configuration.

**What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our local NAS with RAID 01 is good, but you sleep better if your data are also on a cloud backup base on well known storage providers.

  ### 33. Personal backup made it easy and affordable

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2017

**What do you like best about MSP360 Backup?**

The versatility of the tool and functions are pretty impressive. Integrated with so many storage system they will have the one you use right now.

It monitors files in real time, so you don't really have to worry about scheduling jobs to backup your data.
Even if you are a basic user, you will understand how to setup things quickly for your computer, but it also allows you to tweak settings if you know what you are doing.

**What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?**

Limitation on amount of data you can backup with the free versions, and it's very expensive to upgrade for a personal user.

When using with Backblaze B2, you have to create multiple "account" for each buckets you use. Could be a bit time consuming to setup but on the other hand it does make sense as it allows you to change the "Backup Storage" without changing the actual settings for the backup itself.

I would love to see some "local to local" backup options to synchronize multiple computers in one place within the network so that I don't have to use other software to do that.

Also, being able to backup a mobile device would be great. The idea is to just have one software for everything.

**Recommendations to others considering MSP360 Backup:**

Check out on the data limitations when backing things up. You could end up trying to backup Terabytes of data with the free limited version and so realize that you wasted your time because it cannot backup everything you need.

**What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Just need to backup the data in the cloud, and archive things in case of failure of a computer or hard drive in the home network.

  ### 34. Great Product

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2018

**What do you like best about MSP360 Backup?**

Easy to use and practical. Many options to scheduled backups and options to encrypt and/or compress.

**What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?**

Nothing at the moment with this great tool.

**What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Backups of scanned files from many on-premise servers to S3 IA.

  ### 35. Excellent windows alway on cloud backup for windows and multiple users

**What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?**

I have no dislikes at all so I'm not sure why I need to enter anything

**What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Looking to use the server version on our windows server 2012

  ### 36. Reliable and no-fuss backup solution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew H. | Senior Technical Consultant, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2017

**What do you like best about MSP360 Backup?**

I recently found myself having to find a new backup solution for my family, due to CrashPlan stopping their 'non-business' offering. After having looked at the various options, CloudBerry Backup really stood out among the pack. The interface is simple, yet very powerful and allows me to fine tune my backups just how I want them. Another feature I really like is the ability to retain deleted files and versions indefinitely. Finally, the product is storage provider agnostic, meaning that I can switch to a different storage provider in future if required; currently I'm using BackBlaze B2.

**What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?**

There's very little to dislike about the product. However, if have to be critical I would say that it would be useful if the 'Backup Storage' view within the product was able to 'hide' deleted files.

**What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Long term backup and retention of important files for my family owned PCs

  ### 37. Just works

  ### 38. Reliable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steven P. | Director of Operations, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2017

I like how the software is almost a set it and forget it application. It also has very deep variability and easy to use as well as a clean and user-friendly interface.

**What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?**

I would like a warning if the backup service on my computer gets disabled. I have seen this twice when the software wants to update.

**What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We keep an AWS backup of our internal network drives.

  ### 39. Cloudberry backup

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nick B. | Mede-eigenaar, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2017

**What do you like best about MSP360 Backup?**

The best things i liked about Cloudberry backup; the wide range of choice cloudproviders you can choose. Amazon, azure etc etc... It has also very much options for exclusion and triggers. We use the product nowadays for al our online backup customers.

**What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?**

For personal use in the paid version ($30,-) you are limited to 200GB cloud backup. For home-users $30,- is acceptable and affordable but the next step $300,- for unlimited cloud backup is not. Therefor the enduser also have to pay for the cloud-usage.

**What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the MSP model we use this for our customers. We have total control of our users and we can support from one central portal. Really good product with competativ pricing.

  ### 43. Good option for migrating Crash Plan users

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mick A. | Control Systems Developer, Construction, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2017

**What do you like best about MSP360 Backup?**

I like that I'm able to use my Amazon Drive. I mainly back up pictures, which do not count towards my storage space on Amazon Drive. Then I can use any of my mobile devices with my Amazon apps installed to access the data. This is a perfect solution for me since CrashPlan shut down their home edition.

**What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?**

Haven't really found anything that I want to be different so far, but I've only been testing it for a few days testing one backup from my Drobo.

**What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Most of the other home use or cheaper back options did not allow to backup a NAS. Considering I need this to back up a large amount of pictures (+1TB) on a Drobo, using CloudBerry and Amazon Drive is a perfect combo
