Maybe the one thing that is an issue is the updates have to be purchase anytime there odd an available upgrade. Previously I've been using Handbrake software to convert .mov or .avi files to the more in-demand .mp4 video formats. While Handbrake gets the job done most of the time, the GUI and menu selections were all over the place and I felt that it was more suited for no-frill professional users. Whereas with Movavi Video Converter, the menus have been simplified to be more user-friendly. For example, upon launching the software, the main page immediately presents to you the most common and the most popular video format conversion options thus making it easier for a new user of this software to jump right in instead of playing around with various dropdown menus and discovering hidden options. Additionally, Movavi Video Converter also comes with some simple yet useful features such as frame trimming, blurring private information and if you are more into further bell and whistles, there are color filters as well (which I have not tried given my specific use case to convert video formats and redacting or blurring some sensitive information). Compared to my previous experience, I felt that Movavi converts a typical .mov and .avi video files slower than Handbrake software. Personally I feel that it boils down to what each software aims to do; Handbrake is more of a no-frill video converter whereas Movavi has baked in additional frills and features that, when applied before doing the actual conversion, would make the file processing noticeably slower. The software costs $39.90 so it is not a shareware or a freeware. Also figure out whether you need a pure, no-frill video converter (such as Handbrake, free download) or a converter with some basic yet useful features baked in (such as with Movavi Video Converter in this case). I frequently use the native screen recording function on my Mac via Apple's Quicktime app. While its functionality is second to none in term meeting my established workflow, the video outputs are unfortunately only in .mov format. I found myself in many occasions needing to have video files in .mp4 formats for work related purposes as well as for native syncing with Apple's iTunes media library. Not to mention that .mp4 formats are more efficient in term of file sizes and video quality. Movavi Video Converter solves this issue particularly well. Also when sharing or submitting certain screen video captures from my computer, I sometimes need to blur certain personal information and Movavi Video Converter is able to do this with a few clicks of the menu buttons. Based on the premium edition, the most helpful about Movavi Video Converter is that it is incredibly easy to learn and use. It converts videos faster than other programs I had tested. I can transfer my video creations to any platform or device in any popular format by selecting from the easy to access output format tab along the bottom of the screen. There is also an edit button to the right of each video item for creating video segments/trims for output. As far as editing, I can do audio adjustments such as the volume levels or reduce background noise. The only downsides of using Movavi Video Converter is that it lacks minor capabilities to burn converted videos to a media directly if I would like a physical backup. The benefits that I have realized through Movavi Video Converter is that it is easy to use, performs a good audio/video quality conversion, and very quick to convert videos so it saves me a lot of time from work. It doesn't take long to load files into the program, and with a single click I can perform a batch conversion while I am doing other tasks.
